Bear with me while I try to interprit the original question. I think what was asked was "how many companies does there need to be to make a paintball gun?"

The answer isn't a defenite one since it all depends on the company that designed the gun in the first place. If they have "all" of the necessary resources, then it would only take one. But if they find it cheaper or easier to have the whole marker or just certain parts of it made elsewhere, then obviously, you would have two or more.
