i think the matrix is because it has that bolt thing where you are never supposed to break balls and it operates on such low pressure, it is insane but i dont have one, my friend does

They are both sweet guns. The Matrix is more expensive..you can get it for $650 or so...and you can get the impulse for like $450 now right? some insane price like that.

go to your local proshop and try them both out and see how they feel..but we cant tell you anything that should make you decided..you have to for youself

Impulse with maxflow reg for 399 at firstcallpaintball.com.

I heard somewhere that matrixes were horrendes gas hogs... but then I don't have one, so I guess I'll be shutting up now. :blah:

The Matrix does not have a ACE (Anti-Chop Eye) System. It doesn't need one. There is one mod (actually another one came out..the Trinity Regulator Mod...but it does the same thing as the one recommended by Diablo Direct and AirTech Industries) called the Rock Mod..it is a regulator that controlls the pressure of the bolt. This mod lowers the pressure so much (110 psi i believe..?) that the bolt could not possible break a ball if the bolt happens to slam into the paintball..making it virtually impossible to chop a ball w/ the Matrix.

Tests have proven this, and this mod is great and a necessity if you want a fast ROF.

So no ACE for the Matrix..just the unbelievable low pressure that will make sure NO MORE CHOPS! YAY..thats all we want..right? no paint clean up..no mess..ahhhh the trinity...ahh the rock...ahhh

Is the Matrix a gas hod?

Well, we aren't entirely sure... (<<LOL inside joke to anyone who is famliar w/ FAUXKING..lol)

Yes the matrix is pretty much a gas hog stock. But put on the trinity, and its not so bad. You will get approx. 600-800 shots from a 68/4500. So you will have to fill your tank after every round or two rounds, depending on how much you shoot.

Front players, IMO, shouldn't have a big tank, so a 68/4500 would be awesome... and front players really shouldn't shoot more than 400-500max paintballs during a typical speedball game... so front players should be fine w/ a 68/4500 ..

**if your field cannot fill to a full 4500psi, than i recommend a bigger tank or..possiblly a different marker :( **

back players.. : Backplayers get the priviledge to use a bigger tank. 88ci or even 114ci should be just enough for a backplayer.

So in reality, you really shouldn't run out of gas in the middle of a typical speedball game.

Note: Aadvark Custom Paintball is releasing a whole new set of internals (Some people say the new bolt..but really internals come along w/ the bolt) for the Matrix that will increase efficenty by 60%. This will be released soon, so when these new internals come out, it is a necessity for Matrix owners to buy them. (I would guess they will go for around $100, a bit pricey, but hey... it is a whole new set up internals, and it will make your marker so much more efficent.
