Good idea Or bad idea

I was thinking of making a wooden stock for my Pro-Carb, do you think its a good idea? or bad idea? some pluses that i already thought of were : lighter than a metal stock, easer to find, cheaper to make/get.
Some minuses were : that the threads could strip that hold it in place.

I vote not. Easier to get busted apart and the weight really isn't going to be that different (it isn't like most stock sare steel). If you can get your hands on say a solid stock like the one for the 98 amnd A-5 from F/X designs sold at Proteamdirect.com, you can paint the stock a wood-like pattern and it would work out well...I don't know, I don't think you'll get as much of a benefit and outside of being unique, no added benefit.

ya a metal stock would be better, it might actually be lighter, depending on how you were going to make it and out of what wood, so i would just try to get some kind of metal stock
