hey, im wondering what kind of gun i should buy next. i have a tippman m98 and i've had it for a year. im ready to start saving up for a better gun. right now, im thinking of a bushmaster 2k1 or shocker 4x4 or stock cocker and upgrade it slowly. I want my gun to be fast, efficient, consistent, accurate, and far ranged. like....i know the shocker is the best of these, but im not sure if i am ready to get it. I am technically INCLINED, but i dont know if i want a cocker because it seems like it has a lot more moving parts and is prone to malfunctions. the first day i got my tippman i opened it and immediately understood how it works. i opened up my friends shutter today and i just put it back together with ease. but....someone said the shocker is high maintenance. my local paintball store and local field owner's favorite gun out of any gun is the shocker. but...my friend also told me the bushmaster is very nice too. im confused...what should i do? basically how do you time ur cocker? id appreciate any input. thanks.

Basically pb a cocker is very simple to understand it seems like it's almost overwhelming when you first look at it and the way it operates however if the need arises and you tinker with it you can generally theorize what is wrong....because you can tell what the differet parts do and as long as you are generally close you can get it back in tune in no time if you are still unsure this page has been a long time cocker newbies friend check it out this page is marked as a favorite just incase I get myself in deep dukey :)

You've got some good choices there Soul, but I tell, I gotta get a Mag. For about a week now I've been Salavating on these two.

Mags are sweet. They are some of the best semis on the market. I would strongly suggest that you get a automag classic and then upgrade it beond recognition. Get a new bolt, ex. chamber, barrel, z-grip or z-body, nitro tank, and other junk. When you are ready to move up to a cocker it will be easy to sell the mag. And if you are lucky you might sell it for more than you paid. Trust me, dont get a cocker just yet, move up to the mag first.

The RT is good to. Sorry, I forgot to also say that if you get a mag classic, be sure to get it with powerfeed!!! And the Auotmag RT is a good buy, I'd recomend it as well.

no offense....but my question was between the bushy, cocker, or shocker....

None taken Soul, If you don't think you're mechanically inclined, then eliminate the Cocker ... Now it's between the Shocker and the Bushy. Depending on which version of a Shocker you get, you're looking at between $550 and $880+ . But you can get the Bushy for about $450.

That's just me though.

Of course, I say that and then post a picture of the Marker I want and it's about $600. Plus, the RT shoots like 25 shots per second ... Ouch.

RT can shoot UP to 25 bps..the question is..can you shoot that fast~?

no i mean im sure i could fix it.....even the smartest airsmith could fix it but who wants to constantly fix their guns? also another reason i mite forget the cocker...is da fact that u can short stroke it. i love fanning my gun. i dont use too much paint ( less than 300 a game) but i will fan my trigger and shoot my hopper out in a few seconds if i need to. and i dont think u can fan a cocker trigger can you?

Well ok. Muck, for the love of god get an RT. If you're not gonna go electro, that's the way to go (in my opinion of course, I know there's some cocker kids out for my blood right now...), that gun is just plain fun as hell. As for soul (I dont care if it's soldier :) ) I'd say if you can get access to nitro, go with the bushy. Ugly in my opinion, but are great stock, and upgrades are a plenty. Some day look into a chaos chip with anti-chop eye and you'll be a very happy man indeed.

Dont get somthing eletric. If you are not advanced enough to handle a cocker then go for a mag, no i know its not on your list but it is AWSOME>

I agree with you totally on the BL intimidator being the best gun out right now (I do own one after all, lol), but it's about 250 dollars more than anything anyone else has mentioned here, and that does become a factor.

PBSouLjAh:

id say go for a shocker, they don't need a whole lot of maintenance, like most people think. just grease the bolt before every play day. i broke paint one time, i just ran a pull through squeegy through the gun and cleaned it out and it shot perfect.
