Were they wearing proper equipment?

Actually, ******* is the only show that actually wears the right equipment and doesn't make our sport look bad..

*******..that is the last show that i thought would follow the rules :)

He was wearing sunglasses, his dad wasn't. Basically, he first shoots himself in the foot with his tippmann model 98 and starts cussing about how much it hurts...Then he catches his dad trying to get into a van or something and shoots him 6 times in the back from about 20 ft away as he's trying to get into the van. (His dad had enough sense to look away...but then again if someone was shooting me like that I'd be turning my back too.) Then he tries to explain something to his dad about how he shot himself in the foot already...then he pops his dad in the foot from literally like a foot away, had to be closer than where he shot himself.

It wasn't that funny. I thought other stuff was better though...that statue bodypaint segment was hilarious.

i was pretty pissed when i saw bam unloading on his dad, who had no protection on at all. especially nor goggles, that's what gives the sport a bad name, there are people that don't even know there are such thing as paintball fields. and i'm dissapointed, bam is wuss, i shoot myself in the foot all the time by accident. but the night monkey thing was really funny, it brought some credibility back to the show because brad pitt was on it. also bam skating in the monkey suit, the show should have more skating, and take the proper precautions when playing paintball

Are the people on ******* really the type of people you want to represent the sport? Just you wait and see, soon there will be several cases of little kids getting hurt because they wanted to play with paintball guns just like their hero's on *******. But why are these peopel going to get hurt? because their heros on ******* didn't wear protection and they wanted to be just like them. I think the show can be funny at times, but they should leave paintball out of it, we don't need our sport to be tainted by the likes of them.

What an insult to the intelligence level. A stupid show like that getting praised by the very people I thought could actually learn something. If you find that show amusing you have no bussiness playing paintball. Leave paintball to people who still have brain cells left in there head. I agree with simon, paintball has no place on tv. Unless it is a sanctioned tourny, following EVERY safety rule.

AllOleander

I don't think watching jack***** and thinking it is funny
measures your intelligence. Maybe your seriousness, or sense of humor, but not intelligence.

I'm sure some of the smartest ppl in the world would watch it and think some of it was funny. I mean, I'm pretty smart.. 4.2 GPA, all As, extra curriclum classes, etc. And i think it is funny at times...Watching stupid ppl do sstupid things amuses me, as long as no one gets hurt.

But you are right paintball has no reason being on TV enless all safety precautions are taken.

Yeah, speaking of bad publicity has anyone heard about/seen that new show "Manhunt"? They've got 3 pro wrestlers chasing losers around an island with paintball guns. The losers aren't even wearing masks or goggles; they're wearing flimsy, plastic glasses that would shatter if a mosquito flew into them.

when somebody gets injured and it goes all over tv, most paintballers are in serious trouble because most of us are kids or teenagers. I am almost 17 but i still live at home and if my mom or dad heard about somebody losing an eye from paintball no amount of arguing about thier improper safety procedures will bring back thier opinion of paintball. Now i am not a mamas boy who will stop is she tells me too, but it would just be more of a pain in the butt. Also, legislation is peing considered to treat paintball guns as firearms in the US. They already have banned them in Germany i think. I heard the UK has to file for permits and everything for a PUMP gun. So all you stupid pumks with your wal mart talons shooting dogs and streets signs are going to ruin the sport for us all.

Who cares if paintball looks bad? How would you describe paintbal other then you run around at shoot people. Jack***** was hilarious when they did that, who cares if they have "proper protection" guess what guys, YOUR SOUNDING LIKE YOUR PARENTS!! Lighten the **** up it's just a TV show. Everytime paintball is on TV its always B***CH B***CH B***CH!!!!!! Just enjoy that they're getting hurt and not you!

And by the way, Jack***** will NEVER show someone getting seriously hurt, nor will anyother TV show, when a football player dislocates his legs the camera's dont zoom in on it. Do you think WWF would show a guy snapping in half like a stick? Or would ESPN show a skateboarder cracking his head open and bleeding everywhere? The answer is NO!!! Can you imagine watching a football game and it being TV-17 for violence and gore?

AllOleander

Do you think the incident woudl be in other sources rather than the TV? Yes!!

I bet that more people read the newspaper than watch the TV. (adults)

It woudl defiantly be in the papers...and then mom woudl see it and go..."Billy, no more paintball! YOU UNDERSTAND ME!! JUST LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS POOR MAN!"

And then you say (in my case.im a teenager :) ) "Mom... Ever heard of natural selection?" :D

And then im grounded for a week and cant play paintball till im 18 and out of the house. not cool....i think if we speak now and play it safe, us youngins will get support from adults and parents. and why not want ppl to like our sport? more sponsors will show up and more interest and it will grow..but not if ppl think that they will lose an eye trying to play it.

A damn fool

Yeah hatebreed, who cares if paintball looks bad. I mean, come on, what kind of little kid will get the idea form the show that u dont need goggles for paintball from watching *******. What kind of kid will assume u cant get hurt, and then shoot his frined in the balls, leaving him sterile for life? And then what kind of mother wouldnt ***** about it for ever, and then paintball has a bad image, so people who are still into the sport (sorry, i mean u r quiting) look like *******s. Yeah i mean that would never happen, right (note the sarcasm)

This type of stuff sucks. The mayor in my town owned a farm for a long time, and then he wanted to build a paintball on it because he had extra land. But of course it got voted down, because some mother stood up and said how all it is is people shooting at eachother for the hell of it, no protection. Its shows like ******* that give it this image. Ur igth though, they never show the people getting hurt, which is why it makes it ten times worse when the kid gets hurt and says well the people on tv dont!!

ITs like when the kid lit himself on fire. He watched *******, sw h9im light himself on fire so he tried it. The guy on ******* didnt get hurt but the kid did. Same thing with the paintball guns. Someone will fool around, get hurt, and then paitnball has a bad image, again....

Have you ever SEEN a player injured on live TV? They show it, fully zoomed in from every imaginable angle. I remember Bryant Young of the 49er's injuring his leg. They spent about 10 minutes on replaying it. They show on Sportscenter pitchers getting a comebacker right in the face at 100+ miles an hour. I can't recall any WWF injuries, but I remember seeing on basic cable, WCW, Sid Vicious, breaking his leg completely, you could see his bone poking his boot. Like a stick. They replayed it about 4 times. Paintball wouldn't be any different. And people might get touchy here because paintball isn't as widely accepted as football or baseball, and an injury reported on TV would be detrimental to gaining paintball acceptance. That's a bad thing when kids are relying on their parents to pay for their paintball. Their parents see someone get permenantly injured playing paintball, and they don't understand what paintball is and assume its 10 times as dangerous as football because the only time they ever hear of or see paintball is when someone gets injured.

Now I don't know that Jack would air one of them getting their eye shot out, but I agree that a lot of people whine about useless stuff. Especially on these forums. The guys on Jack aren't playing paintball. They're doing something retarded with a paintball gun. Same as they do retarded stuff with skateboards and whatever else they use. Most people would understand that what the guys on Jack are doing is not standard, its the stupidest thing they can think of to do with a paintball marker.

On a side note, people here don't need to argue here about getting paintball recognized as a sport instead of some pro-military thing. We all know what paintball is. Instead of attacking the woods players wearing camo, (believe it or not, it makes sense to wear camo in the woods.) try convincing someone who doesn't know precisely what paintball is to go out and play for a day. Then they'll realize how safe (and fun) it is. It's not the camo-wear that gives paintball a militant preconception, its the guns. Yeah, I know I went off on a tangent, but for some reason it came to mind. People seem too busy worried about what other people think about paintball that they forget they're ARGUING TO PEOPLE WHO ALREADY AGREE WITH THEM.

In closing, go out and convince someone else paintball is fun and safe.

See AllOleander know what i am talking about. People like that just make my life more of a pain in the ***. I mean, i am not tring to be a nerd or anything but, come on use your brain when you use something that can shoot at over 270 feet per second!!!!

AllOleander

Exactly!

You know the little line on the box of EVERY paintball marker that says: THIS IS NOT A TOY!

Well, there is a reason for that folks. To warn stupid people that think they can shoot at each other w/o protection. Now maybe some of you that are on the other side of this discussion are teenagers (I am one, FYI, 15 years old). It is said that teenages " never think it will happen to them. " Well it does! and if teenages want the respect from adults they should deserve (The Lord knows i want it! from my mother, teachers, coaches, etc.) as young adults, then you guys just NEED TO BE SMART! I dont know if you just think its cool to not follow rules, well it isn't! And i wish you would learn that now and not wait till one of your friends cant see your hurting, guilty face anymore when he talks to you.

Take responsiblity for yourself and your marker. The only way teenagers will get respect is if they are responsible and intelligent. The " THIS IS NOT A TOY " label is true, and it is a priveledge to be able to play paintball.. It is not a right. If you can't handle it, if you can't play safe and smart, then DONT PLAY!

Period. I would rather lose you as a paintballer in the community, than paintball as a whole.

maybe some of the stuff on ******* is funny(I don't even get the channel) but how funny is it when, lets say you have a lil' bro, your little bro or his friends light theirselves on fire, or shoot eachother in the head with PB guns? Hate breed, they don't show people snapping in half like a stick because it doesn't happen! WWF is fake, they practice before a match so they know how to do it so no one gets injured. Why do people even watch WWF?

AllOleander

I've watched WWF once when there was nothing on TV and i was really bored..it cracked me up!! IT was so ridiculous! It was so funny to watchign the announcers be all series and stuff. "DID YOU SEE THAT...OMG THAT WOULD HAVE HURT" yah..im sure it would :)
