The most bushmaster/defiant info you will ever find is at www.obdo.net
The stock barrel isnt too good. Bushmasters use ICD threads. ICD uses the same threads on all their guns so puma and other barrels will work with the bushmaster
The stock reg isnt that bad. If you have an older generation then you will need an upgrade to run a preset tank
Like any gun CO2 is not the best choice but with the right set up it can run hapilly on co2 if you dont have easy access to nitro fills. An anti-syphon into a female stabalizer into your stock reg is a good idea.
The ICD LCD is pretty useless. It offers some new modes and a shot counter that can sometimes be helpfull but the timer is a piece of crap. It counts from when you turn on the gun in seconds only. You cant do adjustments with it, and the displays really dont help that much. The only use Ive found for it is to link it to the DV8 and have it display that timer and shot counter. If its worth $100 to have that on the back of the gun instead of the side is up to you. A chaos chip is a much better alternative to the stock lcd.
Upgrades for the bushmaster(besides universal upgrades) are-
upgrade- some people who make them
High/low rises- sonic, ripper, vapor, checkit
valves- sonic, vapor, checkit
LPRs- checkit, otp, sonic, eclipse, kapp
triggers- checkit, eclipse, vapor,
bolts- vapor, wet werx, sonic?
frames- ripper, powerlyte, sonic
verticle reg adapter- otp, kapp, eclipse, sonic, checkit
chips- ICD, chaos,
others- intellifeed, anit chop eye(ACE), DV8 LCD screen - all made by www.dcpaintball.com

Good start
by the way, the new 2002 stock regs are truly art, with my nitro duck tank(preset) I was getting +/- 2 within the first 30 shots out of the marker, which is unheard of. Also, cocker threaded Bushey come with very tolerable. So if you are on a strict budget, the stock may be good enough for you. Using after market regs other than a MacDev will void your warranty as will metal bolt. Stock bolt is great though (open face). A good LPR setting is 90 PSI. Good stock input is around 250. PSI input generallyis about the same as fbs wise

The differances between 2000's and 2002's are the milling and the stock reg. They should havethe same price.

How much do the 2002's cost and does it still have that crappy ICD LCD?
if it doesn't, can i get chaos to put on a DV-8 LCD taht is in the same position of the 2k1 bushy's LCD.. (the back, right in your face)

1 year limited. If it's not macdev, don't put it on. Stupidity is not covered. Thats about it.

THere are 2 models the bm2k and the bm2k2 which is the lcd version. I dont think defiance has the same size lcds as the stock ones but he is using the stock one on my bushmaster in addition to the dv8 lcd.

i thought any and all aftermarket regs voided the warantee i got charged 75 bucks to fix my soenoid because it was my glads fault (stupid icd). what is a bushmaster2k2 have that a b2k doesnt richy c is your gun a lcd bushy then it would be a bushmasterr 2000 #2 not 2002. and there is no difference aside from the fack that the b2k2 has a newer board and lcd. as for my input i just got my gun vaporized with the trigger and ity really in all honesty isnt better so dont get it if you think it will make your gun better. i got it because my warrantee expired and he replaced my solenoid for free so i got my moneys worth...now i have a few questions......i am tring to make my bushy more consistant i have a b2k glad and sonic asa vapor freak armageddon shocktechd/f cocker threaded all black. how much more consistant would it become if i put the sonic lpr and a sonic or vapor valve. and does anyone have any info on the sonic frames?

I have a 2002 model, don't mistake it with the LCD. 2002's have differant milling and great regs. They will be instroes in about a month.

the bushmaster2000 is the name of the gun, 2002 is the model. the bushmaster2000-2 or bmk2 is the lcd version, there is also a 2002 bmk2 which is the lcd version of what richy has.

So does Richys gun, the bushy w/ the different milling and reg, have a LCD? is it the ICD one?..that sucks?
Richy, you say that reg is awesome... so how consistant is it? What -/+ fps are you getting? How is efficenty w/ this new reg?
July, i know a lot about the chaos chips, but i always though the DV-8 system CAME w/ a brand new LCD? They use the stock ICD one? Is it programmed differnetly? cause the programming on teh stock one sucks (only counts in seconds and stuff like that..just stupid stuff)
Would it be worth it to get an intellifeed, even w/ the new revvy chips out..the Turborev chips..that claim they are better than intellifeed, should you get both?
If i got a chaos mod i would get a DV-8 LCD, ACE, and Intellifeed.. i would want the LCD to be in the back of the gun like where the stock one is..i would also like to have hte fire modes be changed on teh OUTSIDE of the gun, not inside the grip..this possible?
i guess i have to visit dcpaintball again..sorry for all the questions.please help me out
I have the sonic LPR and a glad on my Defiant and they work pretty consistanly, if you get the red valve it will increase you air flow to the bolt and letting you run the input pressure lower gives you a flatter trajectory on the ball and increased range (in theory). So if you plan to get the Sonic and LPR Valve, since you have the glad should be pretty consistant, you might want to also concider getting a high flowing air system like a Max Flow or the Conquest if you haven' t already. A good high flow air system should help with the consistancy

The dv8 has its own lcd screen in the grip. Defiance is working on the beta which will have the timer and game shot counter on the back and everything else on the grip. I dont think he is doing a dv8 for just the stock screen but i think he is working on having th chaos chip control it. For the intellifeed it wouldnt hurt but you might want to wait to see whats going to be the best loader. Im thinking about getting a warp and hooking up to my gun in a ddition to the intelli. The owner of warped air sportz says his mod will be faster but so did BE about the egg and so did the guys that make the rico. Theres alot of new loader things so i would wait before I commited unless if you have one to put on each gun or something.

yah i will prob use a 12v, and then try to win a HALO in a local tourny..
So that sounds awesome: the shot counter and timer on teh back (just like the stock icd lcd screen? 2 rows, 4 characters?) and the rest on the grip..that sounds good..what else would be on the grip lcd the mode, rof, anything else?
sounds good
is there a site where i coudl find info on the new bm series.the 2002 (the one rich has) i want to see this new miling!! i need pics!!1 i already checked the icd site..nothin there

almost 900. i just bought a scuba tank, you save major $$ in the long run (not even that long of a run, like a couple miles)
it costs the same for me to fill up my 68ci tank at the paintball shop as it does to get my scuba tank filled at the scuba shop. so thats like 30 fills for the price of one. a scuba tank is like $100 and an adapter to fill your paintball tank is like 40.
so for 140, you pretty much don't have to pair for air anymore ($4 a month, big deal)
so you get $120 worth of fills for $4. it pays off REAL quick.

well thanks simon. i think i am pretty decided on a bushmaster then. i just gotta find a used PMI tank or a good deal on ebay (i've found a lot of good deals on PMI tanks on ebay new)
how does the gun shoot stock? i realize that there are tons of upgrades, but i really dont NEED to have a perfect marker. just something for rec and some small tourneys possibly. is this the right marker for those purposes?
also, does the silver bushy come with a silver frame? because i really want a silver frame. and how decent is the stock barrel? i shoot pmi advantage premiums. how well would the stock barrel shoot those, in rec ball of course
if i go for the bushy this is what i would get, does it sound ok?
silver bushy
ss hose
chrome shockteck drop foward
68/3k PMI tank
smoke 12v revvy
clear dye grip panels
lapco bigshot ss

Yeah the silvers are all one color. The black and the silvers are the only ones that are liek this. The stock barrel is really not that great but if you match it well it will be ok.
One thing i would get with the gun is a new trigger or a new frame. I hate the shape of the stock trigger(my preference though) but most people will gree the side to side and the tension is nasty(not so much the side to side but the trigger tension). I new trigger and changed trigger spring is a good thing. You will be able to shoot alot faster with this $25 upgrade.

this may not be the right place for such a post, but i'll ask anyway and deal with the flames later... =]
i'm considering purchasing either a matrix or a bushmaster. they're both at a good price, and my understanding is that they're pretty much the quietest guns out there, and they're both accurate.
if price were not an issue (a few hundred dollars either way does not bother me), which is the better gun and why?
thanks for you help!

Dude i had the same decesion.
I have decided that sine I live in kansas where in the summer temperatures get 110-117 (last year..117* AHH!). I did not want to replace my board every 6 months. The boards have a tendentcy to fry in hot weather. The bushmasters are better stock that the matrices, and the matrices need crutial upgrades to perform well.
the matrix is a great gun, so is the bushmaster. it just depends on your personal preference andwhere you live and your supplise. Is lots of n2 available? how is the cost..is it 5 bucks for all day air? is the temperatures consistant there? is it cool 70s? do you care about looks/milling? do you care about weight? (they wieght quite a bit more than the bushys) can you stand a little kick of the bushhy or do you have to have moveless gun?
etc etc..ask yourself theses questions and shoot both teh gun and youll come up w/ a deciesion.

Why does every one dislike the lcd, i can get the lcd at the same price as i can get a bm2k. i just have one more question since i do like the lcd will the 2002 come with the lcd(or have the option) and when will they be out. im new to the electro gun world im mainly a cocker person and dont like angels at all. i only want a bushy i for some reason cant shoot other electros as fast as my cocker. im just trying to figure out what i can and want to buy. richy id have to say your 2002 is pretty damn sexy should i wait and get a 2002???? thanks even though i sound like a retard asking all these questions.
pr0kch0p
08-18-2001, 10:07 PM
yeah, wait for 2002's, the new milling is dope and i have heard great things about the stock reg
not sure when they are supposed to come out, but i would wait for them, try calling up icd and see if you can order one directly from them
AllOleander
08-19-2001, 02:29 PM
They should be out in a week or two.
The milling is appealing to some, I personally like the teardrop milling but it is better than the fishbone milling and is probaly the lightest milling of the 3.
I would wait for the 2002 also. The stock reg is managable and doen'st need to be replaced.
On the LCD, it is ok. It is not the best LCD. If you can get it at the same price as the regular BM2k than I would grab it for a shot counter, but the timer wont help you since it counts in ONLY seconds. (i.e. Instead of having ' 3:00 ' show up on the 3 minute mark, it would read 180) The shot counter works ok and if you get the DV-8 system, you can have 2 LCDs (one on grip and one on the back) and it can be programmed to have all the imporant information (shot counter, timer [and timer would be good timer..reg timer] and some other things).
So if you can get the BM2k and the BM2k2 at the same price, i would get the BM2k2. The LCD in the back of the gun really helps out, trust me.
I've been marked many times caues i din't have my marker up when checking the LCD..if it would have been in the back i could of kept in eye on the person coming around into a different angle.

I would imagine it would be around $600 max. Possiblly a little more for the LCD.
BTW what are the little names for the 2002 and the 2002 LCD.
Bushmaster 2002 LCD: BM2k22 (BushMaster2k2 #2
Bushmaster 2002: BM2k2 (2k2 for 2002, but that is what the 2000 LCD is called.. ICD is confusing..

personally i think the bushy shoots great out of the box. the barrel isn't really THAT bad, it's not great but by all means usable. Personally i don't have a problem w/ the trigger and the side to side play, since it's so light you can actually shoot by tapping it side to side, but it would be beautiful if there was a little more tension and a little wider.
if i were you i'd just buy new grips (stickies) after a long day of paintballing, your hand might get a bit sore towards the last few games. but it's realy a great marker and if you decide on upgrading it, there are tons of upgrades
AllOleander

The stock barrel is ok..it will perform just as good as your stock spyder one on your xtra... i mean..it needs upgraded..but its playable

Does anyone know what is wrong with my Bushy? The guy at the paintball shop that i went to said that my bushy i bought off of e-bay would run fine on my CO2 for a few games at least so i bought a bottomline adaptor and brought it home. I hooked it up and when i pulled the trigger it just popped. That was it and it wouldnt recock until i took off the tank and reconnected it. Now the gauge is stuck too. So I was just wondering what could be my problem thanks...
simon woodstock
10-03-2001, 07:22 PM
>cody, i think your problem might be the use of co2. I hope you used an antio-siphon tank. it's possible the previos owner also used co2, since co2 has particles of metal, rust, and other contaminants you get a lot of build up in your marker if you don't have the right set-up (max-flo and anti-siphon tank) and with percision markers like bushmasters, this can make a major mess of your marker.

i just picked up the 2002 version of the b2k2 and my counter also counts in min. and seconds. the trigger pull is a bit mushy and there is a lot of side to side play but i can live with that. i am having trouble with shots per fill. i have an 88 3000 preset and am getting like 900 or so shots. (rough average) cause i haven't played with it yet. anyone know of any tips to increase shots per fill (incase it's horrible)

Few updates to the FAQ, First off, set aside questions. YES Raw or Ano'd bodies and pieces can be bought from ICD, and also if your buying a NEW Bushy (gen 5 or 6) ICD stoped using 2 different controller boards, they are only using 1 board now. and yep you guessed it, all guns have the LCD board (if they are NEW guns)

Do you have blowback?
I recommend the VAPOR bolt to increase efficiency and eliminate blowback.
The stock bolt is good tho, not worth upgrading ENLESS you have mad blowback and bad efficiency.
Macdev's bolt is about done being wrapped up, and it should be on sale to the public soon. Keep an eye out for that :)
But i would say the stock bolt is fine delrin, and it shoudln't be upgraded enless you have bad blowback/bad efficiency (or if your stock bold doens't fit your chamber well!! )
The VAPOR bolt will improve the efficiency tho, ENLESS the Vapor bolt doesn't fit your top chamber well.
The vapor bolt is also an oring bolt.

^^^^ only two bolts worth getting.. sonic not being sold to the public just yet tho i believe

I got my LCD for the same brice as one without it so i'm not one to complain. But there is something i noticed that one of you posted about the shot counter(forgot name)
you said it would read 180 instead of 3:00 WRONG!!!
it counts up to 60 seconds then it reads 101 as in 1 min and 1 second then proceeds up to 60 more seconds then reads 201 as in 2 min and 1 secons
example: 645=6 min and 45 seconds

I KNOW!! I kept telling them that ICD fixed that a LONG TIME ago.. but still when someone wants to diss the bushmaster or the LCD on the b2k2.. they ALWAYS mention that, even tho its been taken care of for months and months!!
thanks for the clarification
later
**PS.. i hope you find the lcd useful.. Even though it is very limited (compared to an angel Lcd) the features are quite useful. whenever i play w/ a angel lcd i never look at the lcd cause i forget or its too much of a hassle to turn the gun over to look at the grip.. or if i do need to find out how much times left, it takes me longer to look at it, (and not to mention it takes my gun off of my opponents direction!) .. but when i play w/ the bushy w/ lcd, i constantly finding myself just glancing at the lcd for half a second and getting the info i need w/o any hassle at all
i find it very useful, but of course limniteed when you compared it to a highly expensive lcd on an angel
Let us all know how you find it to be.. useful or useless!! thanks!! i hope you find it useful like i do
(not to mention the Bm2k2 the chip in it has more modes and is compatitable w/ a ACE already.. so you wont have to buy a new one if you want an ACE/Intellifeed)

Many websites have not updated their picture or description, but since the new year is over, and it is now 2002 :) .. Every online store should have the new "X / 2002 / Swoosh" milling (it has many nicknames :) ) The new 2002 bushmasters should also have a 2 piece barrel, and a blade trigger, since ICD promised these 2 new features to be on the new 2002 bushmasters after the new year.
You can also order straight from ICD .. Also make sure and call the online store if you are ordering off the internet to make sure that they have 2002s in stock, and that they have the 2piece barrel and blade trigger.
Good Luck

to put a gladiator or a bushmaster, do i need to get a reg adapter?
dcmander
01-05-2002, 03:41 PM
dcYes. Just get the Sonic ASA .. It looks and feels very solid and nice with the Gladiator (i mean, c'mon..it was made to go w/ the glad) .. Also, it is a cheap way to drop your OP by 20psi, since the gladiator is so small and short, the ASA has a bigger chamber, allowing a drop in OP.
Sonic ASA + Glad is probably the best looking combo you can get also.. I've seen some Glads on LAPCO ASAs.. HIDIOUS!

so are gladiators the best for a bushy? and that asa, thats so you can hook up a aftermarket reg right?
dcmander
01-05-2002, 04:22 PM
Yes you use the Sonic ASA to put a Gladiator on the bushmaster.
Yes Gladiator is a favorite among bushy owners.
The other good reg for the bushy is a sidewinder, those things rule. I haven't had any trouble w/ my gladiator tho, it works and looks great!
Vigilantes also work quite well if you are on a budget.

200$ for the DV8. It basically has the chaos chips in it. You can get a SO version, but you can lock the gun down in semi so enless you play NPPL the SO version isn't necessary.
Its worth it to some..not to others.
It has two buttons on the try by the on/off switch and LED.
It is probably the most intelligent software in paintball, yes even more intelligent then the Angel LCDs..but the new IR3s are pretty smart..
You adjust settings by the buttons and the dipswitches in the grip

Just a note, its only $200 if you install it yourself. There is a fee if you have TW install it for you.

I think ICD DOES do a conversion.. You just need the actual LCD and a new tray... Call them and find out how much it will be.

ICD does direcetly do it and it's $150 last time i checked.

last time i checked, its $75 to do the upgrade, but i could be wrong..horribly wrong
Crisis

On the NEWEST bushy's it COULD be $75, because the ONLY difference of the b2k to thew b2k2 is the battery tray!!! all new b2k's abd b2k2's are using the SAME control boards..
I DO NOT KNOW what board the bk0 is using...
but on the OLDER (pre 8th gen) you will be upgrading the control board and battery tray..

Ok I dont think I have a 2002 bushmaster but um I have an lcd and since i dont have it right now to test it, doies i count in sconds and minutes?

its hard to say... chances are, it probably does because only the first run ones didn't... what kind of milling do you have (tear drop, fishbone, x).... I think it probably counts in minute/sec unless you got it right when the first came out...

I'm looking into getting a bushy, probably a BKO since I don't have enough cash for a "real" bushmaster. What I wanted to know is how well it will run stock on the air sources I have (check the sig)... and can I use my centerflag reg or will that void the warranty and why?
I have a lot to learn about electro-pneumatics, lol

how can i make my b2k2 more efficent. it used a 20 oz in about 500 shots. If i put a vapor valve, vapor, bolt, and a stabalizer on it would that make it more accuate and more efficent. Also what is a good barrel for it. I dont really care about the board cuz i think if im gonna have it set a 11.1 bps the chaos chips isnt gonna fire 11 balls in a second faster than the stock chip. also how much faster to high rises feed than the stock rise?

personally i tihnk it may b the c02... because i get great efficiency for mine on C/A

I heard the new 2003 bushys were low pressure, so could i use my high pressure preset on em?
JTramoDude
01-31-2003, 10:12 PM
um.. bud... they're ALL lp... lp is around 450 psi operation (varies depending on who u talk to)... bushys can run all around the high 2's and mid to low 3 hundreds... upgraded ones less.... but they've been doing that for a LONG TIME... bushys have always been LP.....
about using HPA tanks with hp output (800-850).... you should have no problem, the new regs r made to handle pressures that high.

I stripped the housing of the set screw on the HPR and was wondering if the repair is covered by warentee or if I could use a tap and dye and repair it

hi there. Got a few questions here. Just got my old gen Defiant , good thing it came w/ a manual. I read it and i happen to have a preset tank w/ high output pressure. So in order not to blow my solenoid, I went to my pbstore to get a high pressure spring for my stock HPR. Nothing went wrong, the guy even set the velocity at about 280 fps shooting around 280 to 290 psi at the gauge.
After I went home I hooked it up and I heard leaking inside the body. Turned out that I didn't turn my on/off valve all the way. After that I dry fired it just to figure out the efficiency. I got about 70 shots for 200 psi (68/4500) which is good. BUT today I actually fired paint w/ it and managed to get only 180 shots w/ 1000 psi left in the tank.
1) Was it my HPR spring went bad ? Or does a High Pressure spring could help me not getting a new reg ? I read the FAQ that high output preset tank may not get good efficiency, but I got High pressure spring.
2) Was it my LPR setup , or does LPR setting affect efficiency ?
well, I may have read my tank gauge wrong, i mean maybe i don't even have 1000 psi left, but it just bugs me cuz i'm pretty sure i have about 1000 psi left. neways, thx for ur help. Later !

no lcd on the 2k3 bushy, or Gen 10. The only option from ICD is the PDS system.

you may also have heard defiants as bob long defiants....
all they are are bushmasters with different trigger frames, bodies usually special anno patterns and cocker threads made either by icd for bob long, or by bob long under icd contract (not positive which of the 2)....
and to my knowledge they are no longer in production

Hey guys, i was wondering how bad trigger bounce is on the B2K3's w/pds.
DWOOD
01-29-2004, 01:22 PM
the boards on the b2k3 are capped at 36bps. and the trigger bounce is not bad. dont get it much. unless you get the chaos chip then you can programe it so...

PDS?
P paint
D detection
S system
the standard "vision eye" makes sure a paintball is completely in the chamber before the gun is able to fire, eliminates chopping however it slows your max rof.

It is a break beam eye so if it does not sense a ball in the chamber it will delay the bolt in micro seconds.

As fast as you can walk the trigger (with a Chaos Board of course).

well.. the one bushmaster with pds i used was either slow at reading balls or something, beacuse with the PDS on he was capped around 9bps. edit to that: it seems the ball detent was broken, so the paint not being in the gun correctly caused this problem...
new: (just found this out myself)
Question: Why is my b2k3 getting horrible speed(bps)!?!?!? whenever i put air in it it shoots SO slow... icant break like 8 bps... i'd say i need a chaos chip but it shoots fine without air (chaos is a good idea eihter way tho)
Answer: try lowering your lpr pressure, its prolly too high... not totally sure why or how this works... but im guessing too much pressure doesnt let the gun cycle at the right speed
(this was with a fmd and rock setup)

dus the b2k 2004 (pda) come with a bottom line, or do i hav to buy one?
RumblingRossage
11-06-2005, 06:53 AM
Yes you'll have to buy one get a on/off Trinity mine works great and also get the thick macro line if youre using a hp tank 850 psi output because if the line starts to burst then it hurts when the shards nail you. My friend had this problem with a Ion and a piece of the metal elbow blew out and nailed his leg and gave him a nasty bruise and cut.
