PLEASE HELP WITH FLATLINE BARREL

I just got a tippman custom 98 with the flatline barrel modification.

I use CO2.

It breaks paint. Accuracy is horrible.

I beleive I am pretty good mechanically. I see other people shooting fine with the same setup as I have but mine setup just sucks.

I have followed all of the instructions on how to setup and tune the barrel.

If you have a tippman custom 98 with the flatline barrel and you shoot far and accurate and do not break a lot of paintball, PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS AND TELL ME HOW I CAN FIX MINE.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP

What kind of paint are you using? if the paint is too big... you will have ball breaks.

either the gun 98 is messed up because of the parts or the bore size is tottaly wrong with it i recomend using team colors

Yeah, if it isnt the paint, it is your set up.

So how did you install it? are there any gaps? is the barrel on striaght? If it isnt on straight(im mean exactally) you will have shots that curve to the right or left. Also you need to hold the marker up straight or you will have the same effect.

This guy really wants to solve this problem. He posted this same message in like 6 different places in this forum. And all of them say pretty much the same thing.

Marbs may be too big. one of the guys I play with has one and he says that marbs break on him in it. He uses proballs or allstars now. Btw he also says it works best when not completely clean. I guess a little grit in there helps the barrel grip the ball and ensures the backspin effect.

The flatline is the only pbg barrel where a tight paint barrel fit is counterproductive. The ball needs to be able to roll down the barrel, as opposed to being pushed through. Because they are large bore barrels, ball on ball accuracy will be hard to accomplish. the advantage to the flatline is greater range. Btw a lot of us have noticed that the balls seem to slow faster than a normal setup. Many of the guys have been hit by this thing and not had the balls break.

Try this, get the guy at the shop you get your paint from to give you 1 ball each of several different brands. the one that rolls down the barrel easyest will pboably be the best for your purposes.

It's probably the marbs. Also remember the the flatline isn't the most accurate barrel out there. If you tilt the marker sideways you can get people from behind bunkers :)

sorry muckracker.

sorry about the wrong forum.

I am getting a lot of help though from really great and nice people who really wants to help me.

could we keep it here for awhile until i fix my flatline.

i have totally disambled and cleaned and oild my flatline and i am going ot use the smallest possible paint from a rps.

i noticed that the new marbelizers are a little bigger than before.

i will try it and let you kow.

worst case scenario will be to send it to the proshop.

thank you all for your help everybody and muckracker.

Its not marbs, marbs are smaller bore paintballs. You have it installed wrong most likely. You don't have it pushed in all the way... look at this site to see what I am talking about http://www.tippmann.com/pmatics/access/flineins.html

Don't take it to a pro shop unless they fix it for free. They wont do any thing that you haven't done. I think the velicity one is your best bet. DOn't go over 280 and to be safe I'd go about 270.
