My local field has switched from diablo paintballs to
zap products for some reason(I'm sure it's the mighty$$$)
and I can't stand them. They break all the time and as you know once a couple break in your barrel and gun it's all over unless you do a complete tear down and cleaning.
The owner says there the same quality and the reason there breaking is because it was a little colder (indoors) that day. Everyone else was having the same problem but it's "feildpaint only" field.
Anyone have any experience with zap? I hadn't and thought it was a big name company until recently??

2 words: ABSOLUTE CRAP
i hate them. They were lopsided, inaccurate, and broke like none other...

I got 1500 rounds left of that crap. The place i got it at told me cause it was colded,Was kinda raining but that was when we quit.I came home and the stuff didn't fit my barrel any more. It did at the store,Well my inferno is in now,I'll give this stuff too people that run low on paint out at our rec games, well at least too the guys on the other team. Reason he didn't have the inferno was he had 30 cases of zap to get unload at the indoor field. Thank god he's out now

only thing worse is Brass Eagle, i once had some left in the big kinda tub things they come with, and shook it a little they instantly cracked and made this weird un paintball like kind of ooze. They also smelled literally like 20 day old rotting fish

Note to Self: Never buy Zap paintballs.

Irongut, you might want to invest a little money into a t-handle squeegee. You dont have to take of your barrel to use it.

I'm thinkin you guys got defects. Though I really dont think Zap is the best paintball out there (I'm an RPS kinda guy), Last time we played I shot a case without any breaks. My beef is that they're kinda hard and you tend to get a ton of bounces. I think your field might be buying the reject balls that they dont sell, because those would be real cheap, and the field probably couldnt care less about your ball breaks. I dunno, in my experience, zap isnt all that bad.

nope not defects, they fit the barrel now that i am home.Weather was the factor on my part.Inferno held up great but then i run out of that.I wont be using zap at all till summer and thats a big maybe.Proball stunk out there also.there was alot of diffrent factors where we was playing. I wasn't the only one having a hard time.

If I remember right Zap used to be part of BE. That would explain why they are crap. I am pretty sure that Zap, BE, and Viewloader paintballs are all coming off of the same factory line at BE. They are all very simular in their lack of quality. I imagine BE will try to release their poorly constructed paintballs under the JT name, just to ruin another perfectly good brand name.

I dont think Zap and BE balls come off the same line, the filling smells different for one thing.

Zap is a company out of Ontario Canada
http://www.zap-paintball.com/about.html
They claim to have a brand new prodution facility and have been in the paintball business since 1989?

Maybe the old facility was better??

I work at a paintball place and we order in ZAP paint. We order in two types. We have the more expensive type for gun owners and the less expensive for renters. I find that the gun owner paint runs fine usually. the renter paint is a little worse but still okay. Overall I find ZAP products very good and I would be willing to pay the extra cost for the upgraded paint. Maybe the cases you got were defects or something.
