narrowed my decision and need help choosing

like it says, I need help choosing. A little bit of info about where i play and everything. i play backman (sniper, and if you dont like the word then you can blow me:pissed: ) and im willing to spend up to 300.

:pissed: :crazy: okay first lets look at your type of play if you have the flatline you will be a back line sniper player this is a good gun just a bit long.
compact 2000 pass on it if you want to get a gun that you wont want to turn in for a long time than the get the tl sence that is a well rounded gun

Hard choice...You can get a 'few' more upgrades for a Spyder (i'd go for compact) than a m98, but being a sniper a flatline would be handy. Do you know all the Pros & Cons of the flatline? Like it's tricky to clean, picky with paint etc.? If you know what you're getting yourself into I'd go for the Model98 w/ Flatline, If you don't want to have as much trouble, get a Spyder Compact and buy a nice barrel for it.

How much do all of the guns cost, and what exactly comes with them?

get a cheap pirahna for like 120 and trick it out they are made a lot better then spyders and they take the same upgrades trust me this aint opinion it is expirience

Yeah, I've done my homework on all the guns. Plus, I've heard tips from ppl about easier ways to clean the flatline, like take off some piece (sorry I forget which it was:( ) and run a cable squeegee through it and its a breeze to clean. I've found which paint works good (someone said All-Star works good). Oh, and another thing, I'm a woods player.

Yeah, do what he said, except, DONT get the flatline!! Unless you know that is what you want... I heard the ball slows down DRASTICALLY after 100 ft from MANY ppl. And it is hard to clean. Get a J&J Ceramic or a Lapco Bigshot!!!

If all you do is play back get the flatline. It will take a bit to get used to but after that it is one heck of asniper gun. Also check out the new combos from tippmannthey have tweeked out 98 customs that might be just what you are looking for but i have no ide what the prices are.

However if you like to move around at all. Go with the compact and some up grades.

Here is what i would suggust for the compact


spyder compact 80-90 bucks

32degrees 6 stage expansion chamber 25

32 degrees terminator barrel 35 (it is a good accurate quiet barrel and comes in many lengths from 888paintball and works with most paint)

drop forward (make sure it'll fit a spyder 20-30

pmi pure energy (THOR) botttomline reg 70-90

9 volt revy 40

20 oz co2 tank 20

total 285-305

you will have a much more mobil set up than the flatline but slightly les range and similar accuracy.

OR
switch out the drop reg and barrel and get an equation barrel setuo for 170 or so if you tend to have to shoot different paint alot this will give you 3 different sized back parts a middle and a tip. If you have to play up front you can remove th middle and have a 6.5 inch barrel as well see signature.

pmi 68/3l n2 tank off ebay: search on ebay for "68 3000" get a fiber wrapped PMI tank, prolly can get it for less than $100 maybe a little more.

v-force armor $20 (great mask, my bro has one, and it DOES NOT FOG, trust me on this one)

so thats a little over $300 and that is a great little setup, you will defineatly be happy with it.
