In New South Wales you must be 18 years of age to play. You may only play paintball at an approved paintball field.
You may purchase your own pump action paintball marker. Semis are not allowed for private ownership. To own a paintball marker you must apply for a permit to own a pump action paintball gun from the firearms registry. You must then apply for a permit to purchase the gun. You must also abide by all NSW firearms requirements in regards to storage of the marker.
Semis are only permitted on an existing field permit and then only if listed on that permit before the laws changed. New fields cannot get a semi permit. For further information see NSW government vs Paintball.
The State of PA Law:
The law for all states is that any fire arm that projects an object from it is illegal to have on stat land unless other wise posted. This a state and a federal law. Unfortunetely, they class paintball markers as fire arms because a projectile comes from it. If you are cought with a paintball marker on state land, you may be arrested. The marker will be taken and a fine will be instated. I know this because I was a victum of this law. I hope that you enjoy paintball enough that you will play at a legal field. have fun and enjoy.
May this be a lesson to people in Canada and the US.. us your democratic rights.. VOTE!

This is all I was able to find for Mass. This is being sponsored by Kathi-Anne Reinstein and Robert A. DeLeo. I dont know who these people are, they are not from my district. If you live in the districts that elected these idiots, I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO DO EVERTHING IN YOUR POWER TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE NOT RE-ELECTED. Shame on you for allowing these idiots into office.:D
As far a I know, paintbal guns are currently considered the same a a watergun in mass. Dont hold me to this as I could not find any actual laws stating as such, but have just heard this.
Our gun laws suck, but at least the paintball scene hasn't been wrecked yet.

I am a bit confused  ..... are they banning paint "markers" from every state one at a time or only in PA? I really disagree with the fact of banning them. All the should do take away the "markers" of people who shoot dog and cats and stuff and dont use their "marker" for what it is really for........ Fun and for the Sport, not for vandelizzm (spelling).... but no offence who uses them for this.... they are just makin our sport look bad:mad: .

I don't think paintball markers are considered firearms in the US (as long as the stay below a proper fps) because I know a player who is on probation and his terms sau he cannot handle firearms but he said his probation officer said it's ok. But this is in Texas.

Me and 7 of my friends were playing last week on state's property in Connecticut (next to route 72 in Plainville). Cool area with woods, sands, tall grass, small river (waist high) and a few abandoned cars. A cop on a quad happened to patrol the area. We bull****ed with him for a few minutes, and then he left. Didn't say nothing about us trespassing, or a 15 year old kid playing with us. I guess CT is still an OK place to play.

yeah me and a few of my friends were playin some ball at someguys property... it was ok... better than playin at a field and payin and what not... one time my friend that lived near there was playin and the owner of the land saw em and said that they good play there unless they dont pick up the trask and stuff... so when we were down there liek ppl saw us playin and they alled teh police... and then they came and told us to some down to the sidewalk and stuff... so they didnt take our stuff, but just took our names down and told us a bunch of stuff... and btw, this was in moorpark, ca...
I hate to hear about all the problems with paintball in the US and around the world, but if I could play the Devil's Advocate on this one. I am a police officer, I love to play but I have seen alot of punks out there that have no buisness playing at all and only use the markers they buy at Walmart or on line to cause problems by shooting people, cars, road signes, houses and just about anything else that they can find. As a cop I have to say that some of the rules make sense to those people who are trying to get this type of problem off the street.
I know that laws will go too far and end up either banning ownership of markers all togather or force us to keep our markers at a regestered field. I don't agree with this but I am afraid that because of the people who do not abide by the rules and love playing the game it will happen.
As for paintball markers being classified as a firearm, I unforuntally have an inside track about why some states and towns are doing this. Have any of you ever shot something besides a paintball out of your marker? Some of my stupid friends used to shoot penut M&M's, Marbles, or ball bearings out of their markers. Of course the markers they were useing were Brass Eagle Talons but I know that if it works out of those markers they will work out of almost any marker. Now think about how bad a 68 cal ball bearing hitting your mask at 300 fps. That is why alot of people are trying to classify paintball markers as fire arms.
I don't mean to offend anyond with this post but I am just trying to let everyone know that it is not just alot of jerks trying to take away our rights to play just because they want to. Many people don't know how fun the game is, they just know that there are people out there that are looking for trouble any way they can find it and buying a paintball marker and driveing around and shooting people with it is a way to do it.
My suggestion on how to fix things, everyone who is upset about this needs to write their senators and reps. We need to talk with city officials and important people who can help us make our concerns heard without resorting to tactics that will get us clasified with the rest of the punks that are out to ruin the sport because they just want to act stupid. For the players out there that are old enough to vote please get out there and use your vote to help the sport.

Ill tell you whos fault this is, not just the psyco kids on the streets but Brass Eagle for making their stuff cheap at under a hundred bucks and readily availible at your "friendly" local walmart. No marker should be under a hundred bucks just to make people think twice about drivebys with them, who wants to spend a hundred bucks for a night of drivebys a $30 for a talon/blade or 50 for a stingray/samuri definatly but a hundred bucks would make you think twice. Hell at ****s at the mall up here its $200 for a M98/TL+/and the chepaest made Piranaha plus 40/50 for a half case of paintballs. 55 of 1000 Marbs. But its walmart and brass eagle that make everything readily availible to everyone that get us in trouble, you know what this means PAINTBALLERS BAN ON WALMART!!!!

paintball laws in NH are the same as a normal firearm. have to be 18 to buy. i don't think they do background checks on them though. but anyway, you can fire the gun on private land with permission but can not fire the gun within 200 feet of a road and within 300 feet of a domicile. besides that my state is still
