OK im looking to make my gun more consistant/efficient and I can either go nitro or antisiphon/reg. I know there would be a little jump in price if I chose to go nitro so talk me into it guys! Also if I did choose to get the reg what whould you guys suggest? Can I just basically screw it and go? Or would I need other mods so everything would fit right?

one of my friends with an A-5 borrowed a nitro tank from soembody. he called tippmann for an unknown reason and they said that he would need a low pressure kit so the the cyclone feed system doesnt turn to fast and start to break balls. I dont know but you could call tippmann and ask them which one would be better for the A-5.

Well i know ill love nitro. Ill love anything that will make my gun better. The only thing is im not sure if im willing to spend that much money on my gun which im only going to be using to play woodsball at the moment (i may get into tournies later on who knows)
What about the reg guys? Im hearing that the palmer is the way to go if im using CO2 but what if i do end up switching to nitro later on? Would i have to get a new reg?

I use nitro and have no problems with busting balls in the cyclone. I have an RT, so at certain times I am really cycling alot of paint.

I just got a female Palmer Stabilizer for my 98. It takes the place of the ASA, so I didn't have to sacrifice the comfort and looks of my handle.
The guy who installed it chronoed the gun at 280, 281, 280,280,281.... for about 10 shots in a row. He had to play with the pressure for a bit to get it to that point and Palmer says there is a 2000 ball "break in" period where I may have to make slight adjustments.
I played with it yesterday and I love the consistency. Palmer also recommends using anti-syphon to reduce the chance of liquid getting into the gun. The whole thing cost me about $100, $75 for the stabilizer and $20 for the mounting brackets plus the cost of a few balls.

Ok... y antisyphon n2? it's not in liquid form, well at least i hope not :eyes: talk about a frozen tank...
And if you dont wanna pay for nitro, a good expansion chamber or good c02 regulator, with an anti syphon tank will work just fine. It is for me... but then again, i cant get compressed air in my area... so it's a mute point anyway

I think he meant using nitro is better than co2 with a reg and antisiphon.
And yes i am getting a reg and antisiphon there on their way as i type this.

good, nitro isnt nessicary in every case. Besides you can operate any gun off co2 just as well as you can compressed air... If you do it right :D

the first time i put nitro in my gun it was very accurate...i am now tryin to decide on what size tank i should buy...i know i wanna get 4500 psi...but i'm between 68 and 45 psi....
but go wit the nitro! the A-5 is setup allready for it!

I love mitro on mine. It shoots hella consistent. Also i dont think the balls break as much i used my freinds e grip ucould rip on it with no gun freezing or anything. Nitros great.

The main reason nitro is more consistant is cause it has a built in reg. An anti siphon co2 and a reg will be just as consistant. In fact the All Americans use co2 and max flos on their shockers.

have you ever asked yourself why would you regulator co2 with a regulator? You regulate the compressed air because it has a much higher output at 850psi which will blow many seals in many guns. But Co2 I beleive the output is somewhere around 300-400 psi which is just fine for the gun. Regulators are not so accurate that if say 400 is put in, 400 comes out, 410 is put in, 400 comes out, 430 comes in, 400 comes out. It doesnt work that way (I know that you need to put more in to get that amount out but I simplified it for my purpose) it chops an amount off like say 30psi (not sure if this is right at all just a random number) so you put in 430 psi and 400 comes out, 390 in, 360 comes out etc etc. A reg may make your groupings tighter by an inch if anything (I highly doubt it), and is $100 worth that maybe inch to you? Someone has yet to prove to me why regulate co2. I was allways thinking its just the right thing to do until my friend yesterday simply asked why regulate co2 and I thought about it. Thats the problem with all this stuff no one thinks about it and EVERYONE wants a regulator because "its the thing to do"
