I play at an indoor tag ball field, its paintball but with rubber ball,(u have to put your gun to 180fps) Its in a dark building with black light, (a bit like laser tag) theres three storys with ladders, stairs, prisons.... but the fun part---> u play with loud music! the guy at the counter plays every kind of music u like, at the very last game we play, hes puts a death metal music and it gets very spooky,

Not all rock music is influenced by rap. In fact, very little serious music is. No real punk is influenced by rap, and no real metal is. Limp bizkit is pop, sum41 is pop, and everything on mtv sucks.
Listen to some real metal or punk and tell me it's influenced by rap. Rap rock, or as it should be called, crap rock, is just a passing fad. Limp bizkit has lost its core fans, and when the teeny boppers lose interest, they can say bye bye to their success.

Dude are you serious? Rhyming is from rap? Rhyme is one of the oldest forms of rhetoric in the book. It's been in music since the beginning of music. It takes talent to rap and to sing rock. Hell if anyone could sucessfully sing in a rock band, I'd be up on stage making money. Sometimes the talent doesn't lie in a traditional vocal range, (Janis Joplin, Robert Plant...countless other rock stars....) but dude, to say these people aren't talented, that's like saying the sky isn't blue.

Rappers are not just screaming out profanity and the n word. It is a whole lot easier to understand a rapper then some of those metal bands all they do is scream and have their guitars and the rest of the stuff up so loud you can't even hear the words. If they would turn down the music from earth shatter to a normal tone, you would be able to hear what they are saying and the wouldn't have to yell all the time.

The feeling of rock influences heavy metal, loud music, destortion on the guitars, and the yelling and screaming.

its all about the music.. i forgot what band or what song, but it was one i didn't know too well, and my friend told me to dl it. i did, and i listened to it and his accent was kinda cool so i couldn't understand it too well (it wasnt scott stapp from creed :) i love his accent) i couldn't really hear the words..so i printed off the lyrics and listened to em carefully. (i think it might have been some of stainds old stuff , i tihnk not sure) when i read the lyrics and listened to teh song at same time i was overwhelmed. just the nature of the song, the feeling it produced was anger, embarrassment, and other feelings that makes you just wanna scream. well that is what the vocals was trying to show the listeners, he was trying to show his feelings my playing loud, and screaming some of the lyrics.

its just the feelings that come from the music that determines the volume, and the desortion.

i guess some rock isn't for everyone, you have to truely understand it.

like robby (adam sandler) said in the wedding singer, 'I wish i could just write a song, that people would say, "wow, i know what that guy was feeling," ya know?'

That is what a lot of rock bands like to do. (examples> metallica, staind, creed, etc etc) now this only applys to GOOD rock bands who cares about their music. i've listened to some heavy metals that it just seems like a guitar solo and no feeling in the music, just some nice heavy guitar solo..which is aweosme, but it doens't produce and real feelings...the feeling is what separates a good song, from an average or good sounding song.

I recommend their first album Cowboys from hell or Vulgar Display of Power. Limp Bizkit is always good to get the blood flowing. Saliva, Linkin park... Theres some pretty good stuff out there right now. I cant believe stobooy01 mentioned VoiVod in an earlier post... Must be an old school player like me if he remembers those guys. Man.... RRRROOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRR and Killing Technology were bad *** albums. The poor production quality left the recordings noisy as hell, but at least they had a sound all their own.... Old slayer is cool as hell too...Who said Venom!? Now THATS old school!! Kind of a shame that music fell by the wayside. Some of it was really kick***** stuff. As for this whole rap-vs-metal talk... get over it. This beyond stupid argument has been going on since the day rap was born. Both have their place in the industry and none are better that the other. hahahaha.... Yeah, I see what you mean. That happens with a lot of bands these days. Radio stations get a hold of something good and they just cram it down your throat over and over again until you can barely stand anymore! "Rollin" did see a lot of play on the local stations here in Dallas. It's such a double edged sword for the bands. You want that radio play so people can hear and get into your music, but if they hear it too much.... your career is as good as over. :( Worst part is that if they released new music (and the stations would play it) it wouldn't be so bad because at least there would be some variety in what you hear. Unfortunately, these guys are touring so heavily there is no time to record new tracks. It's a tough business to be in...

I am a big fan of metal. wether it be art metal(korn, mudvayne, adema...etc) death metal(morbid angel) killem all metal(slayer, old metallica) but my favorite band to get you pumped up is
dry kill logic!!! that band is the almighty ****!!!! if you ever get to listen to them, listen to song 8! and go all the way to the end to the rythmic section where you will get so pumped up that you have to pull over to the side of the road just to finish headbanging on the way to the field(i did, lost my glasses in the car to)

underground metal is where it is all at, young bands still pure and not contaminated with how many cds you sell. i also have a big respect for busta rhymes! that new song he put out with like "break yaw neck" that stuff is really neat, i wish i could get the girls he can buy.

to end the argument, every genre of music has its own place, the prepy pop stuff for the respectable preppy people who will one day succumb to the real world, the rap stuff for the homies who will one day be driving bentlys for everybody is getting a job in the rap buisness, and for all us metal lovers, keep it alive

reinventing is probably the hardest, but it's also the worst. phil's voice has slowly deteriorated from smoking all the hash and pot, and dime's solos were waaay to disonant and out of key in a lot of the songs. i think vinnies drumming was decent on RTS, but it was also great on the other albums. (vulgar especially)

The english language has a lot of rhyming, so don't say rock gets rhyming from rap, rap and rock and punk gets it from english language.

Defiantly punk and hardrock/metal/etc. I just watched Fast and the Furious..if you want a sport where you can listen to rap, go race cars :P

My favorite bands are: Linkin Park, Hed PE, Disturbed, Puddle of Mudd, Taproot, Good Charlotte, System of a down.. and for the punkbands: New Found Glory(a blink182 w/ talent!! :P ), Zebrahead, tec.

I think bands that would pump you up for paintball would be like LP, Hed PE, POD, System of a down, Disturbed (defiantly) .. etc.

Yes, Rap is not best for pumping you up. However, Cypress Hill has a couple songs that get me going and Nelly #1 is pretty good

My favorite bands that get me pumped are:Nirvana(after all they lived across the street from me in my home town), Weezer, Devo, Collective Soul, and Most Alternative.


Rap is ok, it has good beats sometimes, but overall I think alternative music takes a bit more skill (that is if the bands write their own music), see a rapper only has to be a fast talker and good creativity skills, but to tell you the truth everyone can rap, while Alternative bands really had to work their way up. They had to learn to play instruments, sing with a voice that sounds the same, oh and they have to buy thousands of dollars of equipment, along with that they had to write music. So over all Alternative takes more skill.

Off of the heavy rock side... I like to listen to music that just sounds good. I also listen to Good Charlotte, New found glory, puddle of mudd (wes is from KC, my home town.. my friends dad is on the same record deal as them and they played together many times.. i knew mudd before any of you!! :pissed: :eyes: whahaha), Zebrahead, Incubus, etc. These bands dont necessarily pump me up for paintball, but i like to listen to it in my car and stuff. It just sounds good :)
