Which works better x-chambers or regulators?

Depends on what you are lookin for. Straight up regulators just regulate the pressure into the gun to stop lulls or spikes in Co2 pressure. Expansion chambers slightly regulate pressure by allowing the liquid Co2 to expand into a gas before entering the gun. The best of both worlds is the Core Performance regulator on paintball-online.com which has a regulator that actually reads the pressure into the gun (not tank pressure) and has a Heat exchanger with a fin design to allow one to play in colder than 40F weather by taking the heat from the ambient air. The best expansion chambers will have a fin design to allow greater heat transfer.
