Awesome. One piece of advice I can give you is...
Always pay attention to what you see in your peripheral vision. (don't always look straight forward)
Always lead with your barrel pointed in the direction you're looking, and always keep it ready to fire while on the field. I've seen so many ppl peer over their bunker without their marker ready to snap shoot, and they almost always get tagged with paint right between the eyes. (especially if I'm on the other end)
communicate with your teamates as well. yelling "over here" and "they're over there!" doesn't help your teamates or yourself very much, especially in a thickly forested woods field.
pay attention and you'll do just fine. I wish girls would have the guts to play here. You're frikken awesome!

...Wish the girls I knew would play...
Anyways,
-Avoid Tunnel vision (only looking at your target)
-When the game starts, don't go screaming and yelling, while you're running to your bunker watch where the enemies are going (important)
-Keep low, and silent
-Stay with your partner
-Try to keep all your bits (head, barrel, hopper, feet, kness) behind the bunker
-Move around, change bunkers
-Don't peek around the same side of the bunker more than twice
-When you're behind a bunker, and somebody is firing at you, take a deep breath and think straight
Also worth trying a few tricks;
-Flip your gun over, so there aren't any balls in the chamber, and fire a few shots. Somebody who has been playing a while will think you've ran out of paint (the sound) and rush at you, wich will result in an easy frag from you :)
-Yell to your team mate that you've ran out of paint (even though you haven't)
-Lay down some fire on the enemies bunker and change bunker yourself. Keep silent and don't move. With a bit of luck the enemy will still think you're behind Bunker 'A'. When they find out you're not, they don't know were you are and start to panic..
Do you know how to snap shoot?

sweet! a girl~!!
they pretty much said it all..except one thing
HAVE FUN!!
most important thing...doesn't matter how many ppl make fun of your skills as long as your having fun :) (its kinda like dancing...ppl will make fun of you,but atleast your having fun..i dunno shes a girl so i thought that would be a good anology ;) )
she wont know what snap shooting is spray........but...its just like it sounds
how to do it:
ok, you are behind a bunker..have your barrel up, and quickly peer around the bunker (w/ your barrel up ready to shoot) and take 2-3 shots at the opponent or where you think the opponet will be
keep snap shooting when you have no where to go..and try to get in a better position all the time.. talk to ur teammates too...always a good thing ;)
but you guys..shes never played before..so she doen'st really need to know anything except to have fun..just go and have fun
good luck
the force is strong with this one...

Uhhh... lets see.... Never look down the barrel, keep your mask on at all times, keep moving, try to be sneaky, don't use old or already used balls, look at arm bands, don't shoot till you are sure you can hit them. Ok those are some tips.

Don't shoot your own teamies, they tend to get annoyed with this.
Also, when you run from one bunker to another, lean a little forward, presenting the top of your head and shoulder to any potential shooters. It's also good to keep your gun slightly behind you so that it doesn't get hit. A ball probably won't break if it hits the top of your head, or shoulder, but it will if it hits your hopper, tank or marker.
When you're behind a bunker, kneel, lean out quick with your marker in position to fire. It may also help to start shooting before you peak out, that way you're shooting when you body clears the bunker. And don't peak out from the same place more than twice. The other players will catch on to this and get ya.
Above all, talk to your teamies. Don't just sit there and be silent. The mark of a good team is communication.

Dont say your no good ive seen some crazy stuff in my 1 1/2 years. One girl probably never touched a gun of any kind, took a few practiceshots on a dummy target (the kid we made run in a circle with a mask on) and she hit him 3 out of 4 shots with my stock Spyder, I CANT DO THAT THE THING IS A PIECE OF CRAP. Youll be amazed. But remeber some words of wisdom from god only knows where, "No plan, no matter how well though out, survives first contact with the enemy" that dosent mean go in and dont have a plan just make sure you know what your doing at least one move in advance, i think this applies more to scneiro and woodsball then speedball.

The most effective thing that you can do is move. Don't let yourself get pinned down somewhere. Usually when you get pinned the other guy will keep firing to keep you down and he'll start to move up towards you, around you, behind you, etc. This way he'll eventually be able to get in a good position to hit you.
You have to make sure to move around and not to let that happen. Also, shooting back at them to keep them down helps too. You can usually tell the direction their shots are coming from, so even if you can't see them, pop off a couple shots so they can't move as much.
And like someone else said, just have fun. It's not horribly painful when you get hit and after a bit you get used to the feel of it. I don't even feel some shots anymore.
And make sure you got a good comfortable mask that won't fog up easily. Because if you can't see, you can't really play too well. Also, you'll have the mask on for awhile, so make sure it's comfy.
Good luck ;)

Some times shooting is the best i dea, so no one knows where you are, then move to a better angle, and then shoot only when you've got a grat shot

Let me edit that for him :D
" Sometimes not shooting is the best idea. This way no one knows where you are. Then you can move to a better angle, and then shoot only when you've got a great shot. "
You'll have to excuse my 10 year old friend. :)
How old are you Richy? I think I heard 12 or something. J/W man.

Let me make one good suggestion, keep an eye on your opponents. Dont take your eyes off them, unless you really really have to. be ready to shoot at anything on the field. Keep a tab of how many people are left, and oh yeah, what ever you do, keep moving. The cycle usually goes like this:
Move, shoot 3-4 times, try to work a good angle while keeping in mind that there are other players. couple more shots. usually repeat, but sometimes you just keep moving.

I wouldn't suggest a patter to a newbie though.. they might get it stuck in their head and this is very GENERAL! It all depends on the game.... What to do is just a in-game decision.. You just gotta think and be smart.

Don't focus too much on one - 3 opponents in an area, know where they are, but keep an eye out for other locations... Don't focus on 1 opponent, focus on the whole field. Or else I can guarantee you'll get hit from another location, and don't follow any pattern, find whats good for you and your field. But don't stay in a bunker too long... Have fun too!

Be unpredictable, do everything that wouldn't be obvious.
Also, Scream out weird things like, "KHAAAA KHAAAA!!!!" and try to confuse the enemy by saying weird stuff like, "I'm chargin, COVER ME!!!" And don't charge, do that so they will stick there heads up to shoot you, and you'll see where all the enemys are! Also, don't be scared to get shot, it doesnt hurt. And, be a fair sport, don't wipe the paint off and keep playing. Don't be sad when you get out, try to think of it as a learning experience, you can get better from that. I am very respectful of you, not many girls paintball.

Use you head. Think about where the other players would be, what they are thinking, and how you will react if thye pop out of nowhere. Look at everything. Look at the ground, the way the bushes move, the way bugs move, everything. You ALWAYS decipher the location of somebody if you take in every detail. Look for broken vegetation and feel if it is still seeping. That menas it's fresh and that somebody could be in the area. Look for footprints in the ground, disturbed leaves, or broekn branches. Also, listen in. Animal sounds always start at about the same time and end at the same times. If they don't, if one bird calls, then you know there is a disturbance. I'm kinda methodical and all, not your average player, a bit strange, but it helps me know hwere people are and I've been knocked out of play only 3/21 times, two of those times by a dumb newbie who shot me. Yeah, another piece of advice, don't shoot your own dude.

Well the biggest thing for you to remember is to have fun, however:
-always keep your goggles on except in denoted no fire zones
-do not focus too long on any one target (tunnel vision) you'll get flanked
-keep moving dont stay in one place for too long of a time
-bring a pair of knee pads...chances are that if your playing behind a lot of bunkers you will be on one or both knees for a lot of the game. This however depends on the field.
-keep your ears open (as if they could be closed...u know what I mean)
-look for arm bands ...dont shoot your own team...they get kinda pissed:eek:
-always keep your gun up and ready to fire, keep it pointed in the general direction your are looking so you are ready, dont hold it down at your hips, keep it up towards your face ready for a well aimed shot.
-when playing bunkers keep your signature/profile small. this means leave as little exposed as possible when you look around to shoot. Keep the gun up close to your goggles for a fast accurate shot. This position will keep everything close together and leave little of your body exposed. Dont stay exposed too long
-never pop up out of a bunker in the same spot twice.
-keep barrel plugs and safetys on when not playing
-keep barrel plugs out and safetys off when playing...you wouldn't believe the number of new players that I have lit up because they ran towards a bunker that I was in and when i poped out they tried to shoot only to realize thier safety was still on...hehe lucky for me...not for them....just how i like it

That's cool your only the second women i have ever heard plays and the other one i play with. Don't say your bad just as long as you keep your wits about you, you should be fine. The girl i play with is really good! So don't let ppl say you can't play or nothin cause there wrong. Just stay calm and be smart out on the field.:P Hope you have a great time.
