Which is better the dye ones or the redz ones. both only the knee not the knee and shin. they are both 35. anyone know where to find them cheaper than that???

I would buy moto cross shin knee pad combos. you can get fox set up for like 25 out of there catolog. they are light, strong and provide excelent protection. I always get bounces with them too. at my local field i got shot from 25 feet away because my leg was sticking out and every ball bounced

trace paintball knee/shin pads, about $35.00. or get the trace softball knee/shin pads for about $15.00.

I've got a pair (I think they were for roller blading) and they're very hard on the outside and soft on the inside!, good if you're falling on your knees alot. However the elastic that wraps around the back and velcros the strap in place is so tight it cut into your legs and keeps the blood from flowing! If thet're not tight they fall down, when they are tight they cut off your circulation! Is this what the rest of you are dealing with or is it just I'm too cheap to buy the right gear!

you either too cheap to buy real gear or you buy the wrong gear.
the redz and the like have straps on the back (if you wear shorts - they itch on the back of your knee), or if you wear pants under them (it will get hot ans sweaty). my trace paintball knee/shin pads, have two velcro straps one at the ankle, and one at the top of the knee. the backside of your leg is mostly covered by lycra, as well as the 2-3 of the back of your knee.

I wear the Raven Knee/Shin pads, the knee pad is very thick and comfortable. The shin pad is slightly harder, but still comfortable. I wear shorts when i play, and the velcro straps do bite into your skin if they're too tight, however, I've never had them slip off or slip down when I loosened them a bit. And, in the fall and winter when I wear long pants, I don't even notice that. They're also machine washable (delicate cycle).

I know folks who've bought other brands of knee/shin pads and had terrible luck with them.

What do you guys think about the JT ones? E-Motion Knee/Shin guards??

I borrowed some E-Motion pads for a friend of mine. I wore them a couple of games and didn't care for them. There's no padding on the inside, so they were very uncomfortable against the skin. Maybe they come with padding you have to glue or stick to the inside of the knee area, i don't know. I do know that I didn't care for them.
