View Full Version : Blow back vs bolt bouncing the ball

I had a chance to take my BKO out again and I had one chop when I was trying to see how fast I can walk the trigger.

I did a little more testing.

My BKO has very little blowback up the feed tube. However, when I place 2 pb in the feed tube and fire the marker once, the second pb will bounce approx 1" up out of the low rise feed.

I think what's happening is that since ICD has made the newer bolts to tighter tolerances, the bolts have a bit bigger diameter than the pb. As the bolt moves forward, it actually bounces the top pb up.

I'm sure it's not the actual blowback that pushes the pb back up the feedneck.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I don't think a new bolt will fix this problem..... unless the bolt is a smaller diameter with an o-ring to seal the breech. But then, the O-ring will still have to travel past the feed neck to seal the breech properly and so, will still likely bounce the next pb in the feedneck.

Otherwise, when I was actually playing and not shooting as fast as possible, the BKO was a treat to use without any chops or barrel breaks

Cheers

I have noticed this as well, with more than one type of bolt and in other markers than just the BKO, but the weight of more than a couple opf balls usually will keep this ini place, however, when your about out of paint this is an issue.

It almost seems to make the issue of blowback causing a feed problem to be a mute point.

Just a thought.

I would think a force feed hopper like the evo2 or halo b would end this. :-)

You're probably right.

Oh man...... more money to be spent...... this is not good :(

I just got a Revy with an X-board less than 5 months ago.

Maybe I'll work on being a better marksman and rely less on laying down paint :)

Cheers

Not really, this plus blowback can even push a stack of balls up, not just one or two.

I jus got an Evo 2 on Monday and i played with it last nigh. I had the same problem with the bolt hitting a ball up. At the end of the evening I ripped as fast as I could and the Evo 2 kept a good stack on it and I didn't chop one ball. The evo 2 was only $69.99 at Paintball-Discounters.com. So for $20 more than a revy I thinks its well worth it.
