I just got my A-5 a week ago and I have gone through 2 20oz. tanks on less than 1,000 paintballs. Does anyone have a clue to why this is? After I have shot about 350-400 paintballs through off my 20oz. it begins to leak. I will remove the tanks and put a different full tank and the leakage will stop. After about the same amount of shots the same thing will happen to the new tank. Right now my theory is that for some reason there is not enough pressure in the tanks to seal the gun. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?

Replace your o-ring and then if it's not fine have a pro shop check your tank valve.

hehe they are gas hogs though, i used a whole 4 oz in less then 30 seconds with my friends a5
haha who uses a 4 oz? Yeah I think all tippmann's are gas hogs. My friend has an A5 and I have a 98c, and we're always refilling our tanks.

I get 500 shots to a 9 oz. Just like any other gun....

I am pretty sure that it is not the tanks that are the problem. I have let people use both tanks on their guns and nobody has had any problems with them. I am pretty sure the co2 is leaking out of the A-5 some where.

Look in the Picture Thread... lol You'll find plenty:)
Yeah, A-5's seem to be quite the gas-hogs.

Played with my A-5 last weekend.
Pushed close to 1000 balls through with a 20 oz tank (which was warm when filled, and thus, probably underfilled).
I put a PMI reg on my vert adaptor and run a remote. I think I get better mileage from this because:
1: remote/vert bottle - keeps liquid out of system
2: regulator - acts as x chamber as well as regulating amount of gas that gets in system.
Your mileage may vary with conditions of use :P

The Cyclone Feed runs off of Co2 too. Get a 24 oz. tank.

well when i first got my A-5 it was the same way, it actually seems to break in (i know by what i am saying that you will all call me a NEWBIE which i am not, i just cannot figure out if it was just me that noticed it going down...or if i just stopped noticing it) but the 0-rings inside have come outta whack and needed to be moved around...but the velocity might be a little high... C02 is alot less conservative than HPA. i say get NITRO... NITRO is GOD for paintball!

You are completely wrong, it runs of excess air that the valve would waste, so really it putting good use to that air

ya want to see a gas hog? have a look at the impulse, matrix, and old shocker. you have to upgrade their internals and to actualy get them to levels of effciency of the 98c. so shut up about your a5 being a gas hog!

Well I called Tippmann and they are gonna send me new valve internals. Hopefully that solves my problem.

Actually thats not entirely true considering the faster you fire the more gas it needs, which means there has to be a point where theres no excess gas left from the valve which would mean means more gas would have to be used. Either way an a-5s not worth it regardless.

Acutally, dont speak if u dont know what u are talking about...the a5's cyclone runs off BLOWBACK gas which is just like how the rt works for the custom, but instead, it uses it to spin the cyclone. Now i could see how it would use up more gas if u had an rt b/c it would require more air to create trigger bounce. but if u had an egrip, u'd be fine.
-So in conclusion, the a5 is not worthless, in regards, you are.

Yeah sure thing, i have personally fired and used a5 before, one with an egrip, there good guns but not for that kind of money you can easily get much better for the price.
