Andrew, Congrats on growing such a popular site. As any Urban Planner will tell ya, Growth = Headaches.

Threads sprouting up in the wrong forums ... New threads being created hourly about the same worn out topics ... not electricity to keep the city lit ... er, oops, that is a real Urban Planning problem :eek: .

Anyway ... a while back I'd posted something to the effect of creating new categories (i.e. categories for specific markers, regions, etc.) and maybe it's time to revisit that idea.

Also, I was thinking that maybe it's time to add a new Moderator or two, just to keep things moving along smoothly (and to give Counter a break, you know, I think he lives on this site.)

Anyway, just a thought, and no, I don't want to be a Mod. :D

What the categories are called isn't really important, or even the categories, but I do think that adding more forums would ease up the tremendous amount of stuff flowing into the GPT forum ... I've posted this before also, but I think it needs to be repeated, the Newbie forum is getting overrun with stuff that either belongs in the GPT forum or has already been debated to death in that same forum ... Maybe it's time for some house cleaning there.

The General Paintball Talk forum is basically the same topic over and over - Spyder or Model98? Spyder or Piranha? etc. Maybe it is time for some house cleaning. LOL

BTW, id be willing to be a MOD...I wouldnt consider myself a paintball expert or professional but I do spend a lot of time on this site and on computers in general (that is if u are taking into consideration Muck's suggestion).

As andrew has stated before. At the moment we are not looking for any new MODs. When new forums are added a new mod will probably be added. But that still is a little ways off.

Before I add forums I would like to know what you guys think would be the best way to do it?

I was thinking somewhere along hte lines of:
Open Blow Back, Electro, Custom, Pump, and High End Semi

and just in case people weren't sure I could have examples in the descriptions of the forums!

Let me know what you think...

I think it should be.... Open Bolt Blowback, High end Semi, Pump, Beginner electro (em1, bushy, impulse etc.) High end electro's(timmy's, Angel, shocker etc.)

I'd suggest generic: Semi, Pump, Electro until the need for more specific categories such as High End Semi; beginner Semi; High End Electro is needed.

Also: Include something geographical like Southeast, East Coast, West Coast, Midwest: I think that would help players in those regions hookup with each other.

I'd also consider a forum like PBC has where someone can Annonymously report a violation or harrassment.

You could set up a Marker Categorie with the following forums: Semi, Pump Electro and Barrels.

Or you could one up called Equipment with the following Forums: Semi, Pump, Electro, Barrels, Masks and Paintballs.

I think that it would also be a good idea to categorize the forums by manufacturer because most of the posts in the forums are directly related to a specific manufacturer of a gun or product that the person has. I was thinking that you could do the Semi, Pump, Blow-back, etc and subdivide them into manufacturers like Kingman, PMI, Smart Parts, etc. But i wouldnt go as far as listing specific guns.

Good idea Anti, but that might actually get a little cumbersome ... Plus, who wants to look like PBC?
