My friend got a mitey max for his BKO and he was having trouble installing it. I helped him and I think we got it right, but I just want to check to make sure (I guess worse comes to worse, we can have AKA look at it when we get to D-day) that we have everything in the correct place. I told him to have everything out of the volumizer area and replace it with everything that the mitey max came with...is this correct?...Dont worry, I had him keep the valve pin and cup seal and all that in there (Im not that stupid:P ). I just had him take out the valve spring and that circular peice that has like 8 holes around the top, and has a shaft coming down from it that the valve spring goes over. The mitey max was a pretty tight fit, but I think it is supposed to be that way. So far we dont really see too much efficiemcy improvment, but I think we need to break it in! Thanks...give me your feedback!

Your correct.

Did your friend also install a new valve along with the Mitey Max? He probably won't see much of a consistency/efficiency improvement without having done that as well. I recommend the Vapor Valve. It certainly helped my BKO.
There wouldn't really be any break in period for the Mitey Max. After all, it's only a larger air chamber (volumizer) for post regulated air.

ya he got a vapor valve as well...well there actually could be a break in period, because the mitey max has a spring, and like a regulator, the spring might need to be broken in. He only got like 650 shots off of a full 68/3000 tank when we last played! ...On the other hand, he did have one bad chop, and that caused the bolt to stick forward for about 3 seconds, which then cause the valve pin to stay open, and a large amount of air shoot out of his gun. I dont know how much was lost, but that may have been a big loss.

The bad air efficiency could be a result of improper reg settings. You have to make sure the regs are set at the right PSI or else you will get horrible efficiency.

thanks, Ill make sure he does that!

....
I don't think there's a "break in" period for the MM. Usually for regs, it's the piston and where it moves against the cylinder wall that actually needs breaking in.
Also, any break in period would involve more consistency and not necessarily efficiency.
I agree with Ayzian..... make sure the pressures are adjusted properly.
I found 190-210psi to be most efficient.
Cheers
