I recently bought an old style imp, which wasn't working (so i got it real cheap) and was told it just needed a new board and wires resoldered to the solenoid. Well, while those were needed, another problem i found is tons of leaks.

Some of these leaks i fixed myself, or at least lessened, but there are a few others which are confusing me.

For now, because its somewhat hard to tell where a few are coming from without fixing others first, i will ask about 2 that are the most annoying:

1. the inline ASA is leaking from the very top (where it connects to the body of the gun). I have replaced the o-ring (twice) and that hasn't done anything. Likewise I have used sealant on the threads and that hasn't worked. Its only a slight leak, but still something I would like to get solved.

2. The second leak is the main one. The entire solenoid chamber (bottom right of valve chamber) is leaking. It leaks from both plugs and from that itty bitty screw in about the center of the body.
- I never touched that itty bitty screw but it just started leaking all of a sudden one day
- When i got the gun there was a tapeworm nipple (not a working tapeworm, no tube) in the front port, but because of the leak i decided to remove it and replace it with the original cap.

Any help on these leaks would be greatly appreciated, and I hope i gave all the information needed, but if not I will be checking up on this a lot and hopefully I can answer any confusion or questions with these.

Thanks

2. I heard that from a few different people and that was my first guess as well, but its odd that it just happened all of a sudden one day when i FIRST gassed it up that day. And the day before i did gas it up a bit, but never even over 100 psi (the solenoid still doesn't have the wires resoldered to it so i couldnt fire the gun so there was no point in setting it all correctly). However, I agree that it is most likely a blown solenoid, i just want to know how the hell that would happen

1. Running the maxy at 100-150 psi, just kinda testing out leaks and such. And what would make the PRV go out? I am going to talk to the guy here soon about all this extra stuff being ****ed up and see if he will give me some money back, because that is real ****ed up.

Thanks for your help

yeah i think your solenoid is dead, it happened to me (leaks in the same places, etc) when i accidentally ran about 500psi into my gun coughimpnoobcough and blew the solenoid, you can buy a new one for about $50 if you send in your old one to airsoldier.com

and about the PRV.... if he ran an *** load of pressure in there and blew out the solenoid, chances are your PRV flipped out and "kicked the bucket" (all of this is prior experience to me.... and i bought it new.... no one to blame but myself for ****ing my gun up)

eh solenoid blown or not, one of the pins is missing so i cant resolder the wires... hopefully my friends that are sponsored by smart parts can hook me up with a new one for free :-P

Thanks for all your help guys, I'm hoping i dont have to buy a new PRV, but if so its not too expensive so not a huge deal, plus i could get a 15*, woo! (i dunno, seems uncomfortable heh)

hey man had i been able to hear anything over the roar of my tank emptying out in under 30 seconds through every place that could possibly leak air i bet there would have been a huge bang........ but yeah, im waiting on some money to get a new solenoid from airsoldier.com

its gonna cost more than $50 for a solenoid from there... Its $55 if you send one in, plus you have to buy that core spring for $5, so you end up paying $60 once again. Still not too bad of a deal, though, anyone know how much Smart Parts charges for a whole new solenoid?

Also, it seems like the wire cover on the AirSoldier solenoid is much better than the crazy glob of cement or whatever the hell Smart Parts puts on their solenoids.
