I'm sorry Muck, I know there already was a thread like this, but the title was too vague for my taste and it was way at the bottom somewhere in the general paintball forum. Could you combine the two please? Heres the link: http://www.pbreview.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=14912&highlight=Man+hunt

Anways back to the subject at hand, what do you think of the show? I think that the hunters are just a bunch of body builders acting like hard core military-type gurilla fighters in order to get raitings. I would like to challange their little three man team with a team of my own to an actual paintball match and see if they are really worth anything. It's easy to shoot unarmed people, I doubt they would last against people who shoot back.

I was flipping through the channels yesterday when I saw some paintball action on a UPN (yes UPN) show called "Manhunt" Before i start saying what was bad about it I'll just tell you the plot of the show. There's 10 people and there on a team, then there's 3 hunters who look like steroid addicts, one is a gigantic guy with a blonde mohawk, the other two are pyscho hosed beasts that act like there having PMS 24/7. All three hunter have paintball guns, and of course no masks on, then they are supposed to hunt the 10 man team. They only shoot one of them too, but instead of shooting from a distance all 3 of then chase after them and get about 5 feet away from one of the team members and blast them. After they get shot they have a ritual like survivor or bootcamp, except they shave the guys head who got hit and he's off the show. Now the worse part of all of this is the 10 team members only have those cheap plastic lenses on, no face mask or even a good pair of goggles. Just some cheap lenses that you would wear if you were using a weed eater or cutting something with a saw. Then the hunters shoot the guy from 5 feet away. Now what parent would want there kid playing paintball after seeing that on TV? But then again who actually watches UPN?

Those hunters are from the WWF they need to get back some of that money they lost in the XFL somehow :biglaugh:

No problem. Muck was going to combine the threads together anyways.

I plan on writing a letter to that show challanging them. I think there is a chance that they would accept in order to get ratings and to get more veiwers from the paintball community and people in general. Where is it filmed anyways?

they probaly play at some crappy place like Iowa or North Dakota. Or maybe in a studio. I hope it gets cancelled cuz it really is giving pball a bad rep.

I agree. Someone is going to get hurt one of these days thinking that they'll be safe wearing a pair of construction glasses instead of an actual paintball mask. When that day comes, it will be a dark day for paintball...

it's in hawaii. It's a pretty lame show...all their shots are point blank and they miss half the time.

Yeah they didnt look that great , it didnt look like they had hoppers though. I know they were using a remote cuz i saw no tank. Pretty lame concept for a show. I'd rather watch Tony Hawk's Gigantic Skate Park Tour presented by Snapple's paintball action (long name) I found it hilarious even though they broke almost every rule but whatever. they were using the reliable M98 in that show. Anyway ESPN is supposed to release a TRUE paintball show in Spring 2002 i believe.

.. no they didnt have hoppers b/c they only carried 3 shots..
no the tank was simply between the foregrip and trigger frame, wrapped in the fake animal skin..

and the woman hunter cracks me up, she always ALWAYS misses and was like.. "miss!" "damn!" "miss!" "goddamnit!" "miss..! Piecea.. im out!".. she sucks, lol.

i agree, the show sucks.

i think the reason the hunters shoot from such close range is that the people running aren't wearing any kind of standard paintball masks. we all know that the only way to get seriously injured from paintballs is a shot in the face, and i bet the producers of the show don't want any lawsuits about something like that.

Hawaii?!?!?! Well wadddya know, Magnus lives in Hawaii! I thought it was in Hawaii because of the quiet male hunter who always wore tea leaves wrapped around him and he lookied kind of local and lots of the plants are similar to the ones at my outlaw ball field. The pieces are starting to come together. How do you think I should contact them? Do you think they have a web site?

fear factor had STO Cocker's. Remember the episode of Real World vs. Road Rules where they did that stupid mission with paintball? I think they had Gt2000 or some really cheap gun. Still those guys got shot up like a baboon (bad anolagy?) Anyway watching paintball is never as fun as playing it. I just suscribed to Paintball 2Xtreme. I hope it's better then Crossfire (which looked stupid) and Action pursuit games and the other one.
