I've been playing about a year. Just now getting serious. I'm interested in playing a tournament. I have a few players that I may be able to create a team with in the future but not in time for the WPF Great Lakes Tournament on Sept 22/23. Is there anyone interested in creating a 5 man team or is anyone looking for one player?

We just got about 25 people together the other weekend at Futureball Indoor. It was fun but outdoor is definately better. The floor was so full of paint that you could barely walk. We had one person severly sprain his ankle because of it.

I'm going to some private property this weekend to play for fun. The weekend of the 22/23 there are actually two things going on. Hell Survivors is hosting a Tippman vs. World Team challenge. It's not a tournament but they'll have prize drawings. If I can't get a team together for the Great Lakes Challenge that weekend then I'll probably go to Hell Survivors.

We're playing way up near Caseville. One of my supervisors invited a few people from work to go up to his cottage to play so I can't really invite other people to come.

I think it'll be kinda tough to get a team together at this late of notice so I'll probably just go to the Tippman VS. World Team big game at Hell Survivors that weekend. It's going on the 22/23 but I'll probably only go the 22nd. Maybe I'll see you there.

Lone Wolf West is on M-24(Lapeer Road) behind the Cascadden Lounge in Metamora. You can call 800-875-wolf for detailed directions. You have to use their paint. It's $60/1000 but I have a membership so I can get for $50/1000. It's kinda expensive for paint but considering that's all you're paying for, it's not too bad. I usually average 400-500 rounds.

I live in Grand Haven. I'ved played a couple times at crossfire in Allendale it's a pretty cool indoor place. Too crowded on Saturdays tho. During the summer I drive out to Futureball in Whitmore Lake and play outdoor. I love the fields there and the refs and store guys are great and helpful. Has anyone heard anything about a new field opening in Kzoo?

Did you play at Crossfire wednesday? It wasn't too bad in terms of being crowded. There was a total of 16 playing at a time i think, the night started off with 5 on 5. Quite a few younger newbies but some more experienced guys too. All the newbies just cringe behind the back center bunkers, so they're easy to mop up at the end. I only discovered the place this winter so I've only been able to go there 3 times. Twice over winter break and this week during my spring break. I was the guy with the backwards baseball cap and the diablo jersey. Catch me on aim @ nukesunlimited.

What they don't tell you on there is that there is a new rule. Tippmann guns have to be used on the tippmann team and world guns have to be used on the world team. I am torn between my phantom and my 68 special.

The hellhound isn't on the field at the Challenge...it sits in the staging area next to the tippmann booth.

You guys should all check out Futureball Outdoor in Whitmore Lake. We just got a 10 man pipe field, we have ultimate air comming, and if you dont like speedball we've got 6 rec ball fields. BYOP with your own equipment, 15 to play.

I am looking for a few party like people to join us in a hotel suite for friday night and Sat. night for the monster game. If we get a total of 6 people the cost i2 $23 a night, but this includes 2 rooms, full bath, 2 tv's, fridge, bar, microwave, and jacuzzi. (I am lead to believe the jacuzzi, at least that is what they told me from the hotel.) We will need to know by friday, if you are gonna be there. i play at killer paintballs feild (Killer Paintball, the store, has a feild. www.killerpaintball.com ) its a semi nice feild, but the refs arent ****s, and everyone is friendly and whatnot.

oh by the way to all you south eastern michigan people, DONT GO TO FUTUREBALL INDOOR!! That place blows. The refs are ****s, the staging area is a mess, and everyone (workers) are ***holes to me and my friends. I needed a few tools so that i could play once, and this guy wouldnt let me borrow some friggen tools from the store for 5 seconds. I have noticed the only nice guy is the one with the long blond hair. The Asian guys are exceptionally mean to me (not being racist, but they are).

ok, we will meet at killers feild one day. (Gun is broken, so not this week)

And future indoors floor is sand, including a rock suprise here and there. I kept kneeling on rocks one day i went, and they were raw when i was done. But i must admit, the feilds setup is very nice. They have alot of nice bunkers (snake, pig, car wash, dorito's, beer can's, a fish,etc) So if you have knee pads, can deal with the mean people for several hours, and feel up to paying high paint prices, have at it.

You guys don't know how lucky you are to have a number of places to choose from. Over here on the west side I've tried a couple different places and haven't found a really nice place yet(a place that doesn't count gun or hopper hits ugh) The good thing is most the places are cheap and byop. But I usually end up driving 2.5 hours and play at futureball outdoor. The fields are great. I started really playing paintball there and the refs have been cool as hell. Helping out, giving tips, joking around. Most the regulars there are great too. Only occasionally people from small groups have been a pain. I want to check out killer but it's a bit farther and I'm not sure if I want to risk my limited paintball trips going to a place I've never tried when I know FB will be a blast. Went to HSI for a scenerio, don't think I'll be back there anytime soon. I'd love to try the paintballarena in pontiac. The place looks like a blast but $120 a case is a bit OUTRAGEOUS. Not to mention I couldn't use my timmy.

I want to check out killer but it's a bit farther and I'm not sure if I want to risk my limited paintball trips going to a place I've never tried when I know FB will be a blast. Went to HSI for a scenerio, don't think I'll be back there anytime soon. I'd love to try the paintballarena in pontiac. The place looks like a blast but $120 a case is a bit OUTRAGEOUS. Not to mention I couldn't use my timmy.

HSI isnt very good for Recball IMHO, but theyre scenario games arent that bad. I know they've been "cracking down" on their refs of late...

This may not constitute as a good post but i'll try it anyways. Myself, my brother, and my friend all decided to check out Hell's Survivors. We went their and payed and stuff. Well anyway we walked out onto one of the fields and started playing. We each bought a case and were carrying most of it with us. Well this older man with a stock class gun kept giving us crap. He kept telling us we had no skill and that semi autos are just paint wasters. Being a soft spoken person I just said " Yessir" and ignored him. This jerk wouldn't shut up about his self proclaimed skills. Has anyone else ever experienced this kind of discrimination from stock players?

They have never had a big tourny like this so I am not sure how many teams or how they play. They will have 2 classes. If they get enough teams entered they will have 3 classes.

bobalis - No, future indoor blows my left nut. In fact, it blows both my nuts. The guys who work there are all ****s (cept one, the long haired fellow), the refs suck (they happen to be the people who work there most of the time, go figure), the sand on the ground normally has rocks, its expensive, and the staging area is a mess. The only good thing about it is its indoor so you can play in the coldness and that its al sup' air.

Yhea that is the one. Very nice place on prices. I know that paint is only 45$ for bigball, 55 for premium, and 65 for marblizer. Or i think you can bring your own paint as long as its white (not sure on that one). Very nice refs and fields (2 supair fields). May I ask what happened? I work at FB outdoor, and have been hearing/getting a lot of complaints about the employees at indoor. I have never had any trouble with the staff at Futureball Indoor... generally they have been kind, well-informed, and very helpful, but I do not play at the field much. As a matter of fact, their gun tech (guy with lighter hair and a goatee) is a really nice and friendly guy. I did play at the field once when it had just opened, and the reffing staff seemed a bit incompetent, to put it frankly, but since then I have not seen the same guys working there and everyone has been very helpful. Definitely a better store than Killer Paintball... although I have never had any experiences with the specific person that was mentioned. I might be there for the noon session on Saturday. If any of you are out there, take a look for the guy with the '01' on his jersey. Peace.

My friend and I showed up at Future ball indoor at 11:00 AM on sunday and they are supposed to be open but they weren't. Then we wait for an hour and a half to start playing, but as it turns out, they cancelled the session without telling us! I wasted 2 hours of my life and i am mad. If i go there again, i will to make sure they will be playing, cuz that was total bull****. The guy said that there weren't even enough ppl to play, cuz they needed at least 8 ppl in order to pay the ref. That is bull****! There were 6 of us total, all begging to play, and they wouldn't let us. I did the math to see how much money they would have gotten if we paid for everything and the minium was $360. They said they couldn't pay the ref! If you give the ref 20 bucks an hour and 1 session is 3 hours, you get 60 bucks. That means there is 300 dollars now. let's just say that their profit is half of that (which is probably less than it really is), Then they get $150. That is 150 dollars of profit. They bull****ted us.

I like killer paintball more. Even though their selection is a little smaller. Their prices are the best i've ever seen at a non-online shop.

Not to be rude, but thats a little harsh. Where were you when you found out the session was canceled? If you were sitting in the deadzone the whole time I understand, but if you were outside, or up at the store, or in the mall, its not the fields fault.

Our prices are lower then killers, I can gaurentee you that on 90% of our products. Both stores regularly visit each other to check up on each other, and my boss will take prices down as low as he possibly can to beat theirs.

They couldnt pay the refs because there were not enough people playing. If they dont have enough people (I think the limit is 10 there) they wont run. Its a waste of time and money to run less then 10 people. There isnt enough income to pay the employees working, so it causes a big mess. Also the guys at the store have no clue what goes on at the field. They're in the store all day, and they dont go back to the field unless they need something. The store working and the field opperator rarely talk during a day, usually just at opening/closing. They should have told you, sorry they didnt. I would recommend calling before hand to make sure there's enough people to play next time.

Just to clear something up real quick. The field at Atomix Paintball in Walled Lake is Field Turf (the same used at Ford Field) not Astroturf. It has a lot more give than Astroturf and is probabally better than any other field you've played on outdoor or indoor. It's made of plastic (for lack of a better term) grass blades which are about 1 1/2" long and has about a 1/4" layer of crushed rubber mixed in with the grass. It's hard to explain, but once you play on it you'll be amazed. That's about it I guess.

A new indoor field opened up near me called Atomix Paintball.

Features:

-Turf fields (same as the lions play on at ford field)
-Looks like its all sup air fields (doesn't say how many fields, looks like at least 4)
-Heated
-"Largest proshop in michigan"

However, its FPO and 20 bucks to get in. But the guy told me the 20 included air fills and play all day, which might not be a bad deal

2 150x75 foot (frickin huge), professionally designed airball fields with artificial turf the guy said you can slide on easily

They usually run 10 and 7 man games on a continuous basis all day.

"Field paint" is big ball or premium for 49 and 59 a case, respectively. (Very good for field paint.)

Sat 10 am - 11 pm
Sun 10 am - 6 pm

To be honest the employees were quite cocky. While you get people like this at every field, I only talked to one employee who wasnt talking smack, he was very annoying, however.

The calls were pretty good, but personality wise, I wasnt impressed. I've been around most of the employees at various fields, so some of it is just competition, but they could be nicer to customers off the street.

I played at Atomix yesterday, and I would have to say that I had an entirely different experience than The Legend. The refs were all nice people, and they reffed the games like they would at a tournament (pulling armbands when they saw hits, making sure no one was bonus balled, and so on); perhaps I encountered a different set of refs than you did, Legend: there were a few off-duty refs playing there that did seem rather cocky. Overall, however, Atomix is the best place that I have played; the UA set-up on the 'advanced' field is great, but I feel that the best feature of the fields is the turf-- you are able to slide a good five to seven feet on the surface (a couple guys got swallowed by their bunkers they slid so far) without losing traction while you run. The lighting is also excellent, and the fields are very condusive to spectating (no more packing on to the side of the netting or not being able to see on the field like at Toledo Indoor), you can watch from behind the netting from all but one side of the field. The field is kept very clean, and the refs rake the entire field between every other set of two games; the lack of dirt or sand floors removes the neccesity to spend an hour cleaning your cleats, which I find to be an enormous relief. =) I spoke with the owner and he said that they will be hosting tournaments in the future and he is even considering hosting a leauge-- maybe we will play some of you guys there.

I went there today and i loved it. The refs were great and so are the fields. Today was my first time doing sup'air and it was awsome. I wasted these 2 guys that were at the snake and they i was shot in the right nut (i don't wear a cup). Besides that experience, i loved it. I'm going next sunday. if any of you guys want to come, it would be fun. I play in general class though cuz the advance is just too damn good for me.

WOW! This is one heck of a paintball facility. I went there for the first time today and it was great. The prices are good, the turf is amaing, the facilities are great too. There are a few downsides though. That is one of the fields is clustered with bunkers, but the other field is just right. The refs in the morning were very good and professional, but a little after lunch they brought in a new shift and the refs well, sucked. I talked to the manager and he said he is picking refs out still so there should only be good refs in about a month or so. I asked him the cost of the turf, $100,000:eek: I highly reccomend playing there, it's a blast.

wow this place is sweet. the turf was excelent, the owner is realy nice.and the refs are decent. the only problem i had was when a ref stood behind a player i was trying to hit, then when i finaly got the guy (and hit the ref about 15 times) he got pissed. other than that the feilds were great. natraul newbie and i played yesterday.









P.S. the feild newbie refered to is in my opinion better for the amount of people that were there
