I have a Spyder TL plus. The stock barrel is pretty good. If any1 has a Spyder TL plus, tell me please if I should get another barrel for it. I dunno the difference between the stock and like a Boomstick. I want a quiet, yet very accurate barrel. Is the stock barrel what I need, or can i go further??????

I agree. I used to have an All American for my old cocker, worked well, really quiet and accurate. I'd go with that, or a Custom Products 1 piece.

to tanasovich: gee you are a *******.

stock barrels aren't ever good enough. for around 50 get a cp, a dye exel, or a lapco barrel. for around 80 get a dye stainless, a smart parts stainless, or a smart parts all american. for around 100 get a 2 peice barrel like a jt, j&j, or a boom stick. they all shoot the same, but the boomstick is more expensive, and i personally think that the jt looks the best:eek: and NEVER get barrel larger than a 12". people say they are more accurate and have better range, but they don't. they are bad for speedball, and they slow down the paintballs.

Everyone talks about wanting a quiet barrel. I wonder why.? Like, in a tournament; sure you're barrel is quiet, but you're yelling at the top of your lungs, "BACK LEFT IS ON ME, HE'S ON ME, BACK LEFT IS ON ME ..." or, your rapid firing "PAP PAP PAP PAP PAP PAP..." Kinda negates the need for a silent barrel.

Just me two cents worth.

Getting back to nature means, in the words of well known Dr. Evil "SILENCE"

you probalby are a rec player like me right? Well, if you only play once or twice a month, you might not want to invest in a barrel that costs over $100. I bought the J&J Ceramic and it is a great barrel for my gun. It is only $43 online (i dont remeber the site). This gun is pretty quiet, but like muck said, a quiet barrel is really not that critical. Its acuracy which counts. Something else you might want is a Palmer Stabilizer because my big problem with my TL+ is velocity consistency. I am lookin at one at Palmer online, but they are a little more expensive, like $80. I dont know if this is widely accepted but i think that velocity consistency might play almost as an important role in accuracy in a better barrel. If you got your balls shooting at differnt speeds they will fall short or long. With my new barrel, i am noticing great improvent in the balls in a straight line but either too short or too long, but pretty stright. Hey upgrading your gun is a really personal taste and half the fun of paint ball!!! It is YOUR gun.

thats exactlly like me magnus, i can only play once or twice a month, and i have no need for a expensive barrel specialy since i play rec ball( i dont like speedball)
now my bro is the same as me,plays once or twice a month, he has put almost 800 in his m98 from freak,lp crap, whole bunch o other crap

just cause you only play once a month doesn't mean you don't have the need for a quiet barrel. I have a boomstick for my TL Plus and I only play once a month, even if I only played once every 3 months I'd still prefer to have the boomer cause it sucks when your marker is loud as hell, which is what happens with the stock barrel or some cheap barrels.
