I just got my Spyder E99 and i have a problem with it. It seems to be double firing. It is only shooting 1 ball but it acts like its shooting two, like its on burst or sumthin. There was a thread on this but they said repacin stuff on the indisde of the gun and i ahve no clue about how to take this gun apart. I was wonderin if you all could help me. Thanks

Whatever you do don't mess with the grip. It sounds like your sear isn't catching. Take it to your local proshop and ask them to fix it for you and watch how they do it so you can do it yourself next time.

It could be the sear but I am doubting it. Check to make sure the whole grip/trigger assembly is screwed on tight.

I am thinking it's the striker o-ring. Just give your gun some oil and/or replace that red o-ring. If the problem still happens, come back and then I'll tell you more.

See im kinda screwed cuz righjt before i got my gun the best proshop went out of business. Im located in Lexington, KY. If anyone knows a good proshop within about 40 minutes of me that would be helpful

could be the springs, valve or main, but the stock springs shouldn't give you any problems. air tank screwed in tight? any leaks? enough air? plus did it come with a manual? check to make sure the dip switches aren't set to burst fire. if you don't have the manual i can tell you what each dip switch setting is. i've got an e99 too.

and go here OtterSC Customs (http://www.ottersccustoms.com). this guy has all the info you need for basically any spyder.

You see that pin on the back of the gun? It's right by the bolt and velocity adjuster. Take that little clip type pin and take that pin out. Be careful because the whole bolt and striker assembly is in there and under slight spring pressure and pieces could fly out if you aren't cautious. Then the bolt and striker will come out along with a spring, velocity adjuster, a thick plastic washer, and some little metal discs that are behind the spring in the velocity adjuster. DON'T lose anything.

You should know what the striker is and if not, it's the big black metal thing with what should be a redish o-ring on it. It's hollow with a hole on one end and a little bump on the other. There should be a hole on the top where it connects to the bolt. See it? Ok...The striker has an o-ring on it. Oil that and the black o-rings on the bolt. Use paintball gun oil if possible or a 3-in-1 oil. Your dad should know what that is. Put it all back together correctly and fire the gun without the barrel on a few times. You don't want to get oil in the barrel because your paintballs will by flying every which way. Then after you shoot a few times, all should work fine.

If oiling does not work, replace that red o-ring on the striker with the red o-ring in the spare parts kit. Oil that and it should work.

If all of that doesn't work, you most likely screwed up or there is a problem with the valve. I can help with that too. I'll post this in the thread you made as well.

There shouldn't be a problem with the springs and your air tank should be full before you try this.

Ok...can u tell me how to put this back together b/c there seems to be something stopping the striker from going back in...

Ah...I knew that you'd ask that and I was going to put that in there. The thing stopping it is the sear. Put pressure on the bolt/striker assembly and pull the trigger. It should click/slam in there.

Be firm with it. Don't struggle to get it in but just push on it a little and pull the trigger as you are pushing it.

Alright...here goes:

First, connect the stiker to the bolt. The bolt has a pin on it that goes into the striker. Make sure the part of the striker with the little bump on the end goes in first. That hits the valve pin letting air in, without that, your gun won't work.

Then put bolt and striker in the gun and put pressure on it while pulling the trigger. Next comes the spring, spring guide/buffer (thick black washer, goes on the spring) and the velocity adjuster with those tiny little metal discs in it. Put all that in just the way the diagram in the manual says. The spring goes into the striker (the hollowed out side of course). The thick washer then goes on. Then the velocity adjuster.

When that's all in, you will have to hold it in and then put the quick strip pin back through the body of the gun and use the little clip to clip it back. That should be it.

Ok...sounds good. Check out the stickys in the Kingman Forum for more information on Spyders and all the technical aspects.

If it starts leaking again, oil it. If oil doesn't work, change the o-ring and oil again. Clean and oil it after everytime you play. Take care of it and it will take care of you.
