I have a friend, and he insists that if he gets a new bolt for his 98C it will increase his accuracy and distance. Can somebody explain this to me...I just told him that his exsisting bolt was fine, why would he need a new bolt?

a new bolt wont change anything, changing it wont make a differnce, spend the money somewhere else.

well nobody actually knows... everybodys been telling people not to get it even when they have no experience with it themselves... unless you've used it, you have no right saying that it sucks.

my opinion on the thing... its a love/hate thing... some people say they love it and some people say they hate it...

my suggestion, try it on a gun with a new bolt and then decide.

Bolts will increase airflow which in turn allows lower pressure. Lower pressure will decrease sound, blowback, allow more consistancy. These in turn equal more effiency and accuracy.

Haze got it, the tippy bolt has the highest flow rate that you are going to be able to get. So in reality, a new bolt will only decrease flow rate.

but an aftermarket wider bolt for the 98 is a waste of money... because the whole point of higher flow is lower pressure... and since the powertube's appature is a set size... there's no point in getting another bolt...

get it kiddies..?

A lighter bolt may help a TINY TINY Bit.

Ah, I hadn't even thought of that. So it truly is even more useless than I thought. It can't even restrict air flow. Heh.

faster cycling..? no... won't help... the weight of the rear bolt compaired to that of the front bolt is absolutely massive...

so unless your cutting up both of them... the rear bolt is actually whats controlling th cycling speed... that and the rear spring... stiffer spring = faster cycling... and with less weight its gonna be moving even faster... but still not have that much momentum... so you'll need a softer valve spring...

and then you'll just have to sit there and experiment with springs until you find the perfect combination of springs...

and then its still not gonna help because you can fire fast enough to take advantage of it...

so you just did all that crap for nothing... not literallly of course... but i just got bored and typed all that crap...:(
