The other day, or night, I was playing paintball at my summer cabin. There is a long dirt road that leads down to the cabin and the road is surrounded by trees. Because of the trees and the cabin is far from the city it gets very dark on the road at night. My brother, cousin and I were playing. My cousin went up the road and was told he had to stay on the road and wait for us to come up. When we saw each other we could start shooting. Because my cousin was alone my brother and I put lights on ourselves to help even things out. My brother had a red flashing light about 2.5 inches in diameter attached to the chin of his mask. I taped a mini maglite flashlight to my barrel. The flashlight only uses a single AAA battery so it wasn't real big or powerful. It was so dark up there. My brother walked ahead of me and he was only about 8 feet away but I couldn't see him. My cousin should have won because we had no idea where he was. we couldn't see his co2 exhaust or him. but because it was so dark my cousin couldn't see where his paint was going, let alone the end of his barrel. My brother could see better than I because everytime I fired the co2 exhaust coming out the end of my barrel was illuminated by the flashlight. the co2 gas was so thick it blocked the beam of the flahlight. And when the gas lit up I couldn't see past it so I had to shoot from my hip in order to see what was in front of me. In the end I got grazed by a paintball, but it didn't break, my brother got hit with a bounce and my cousin wasn't hit once. My brother and I each went through about 140 rounds each just spraying where we thought the shots were coming from. Playing in the dark is fun because you can't see jack. I think I might try that game again but I wish I had those glow paintballs that look like tracers. Has anybody used those type of paint? How well does it work? Lets hear anybody elses stories about playing at night.
