I'm just looking for a loader for my Shocker Turbo. I'm looking for a hopper that can keep up with the Shocker at about 13 bps. I'm looking at the evolution but noone seems to be satisfied with it's design. Should I buy a revolution and mod it? I have no idea how to do so, so I may need some help. I'm looking to spend about $50. Please give me some suggestions.

Either get a richochet now, or wait for HALO. I'd wait for HALO and use a 12v in the meantime

I use my R2K on my Shocker. Works great. The timer is very useful too.

with $50 you could barely afford a revvy... nonetheless a HALO or an Evoloution. the evoloution is a waste of time and money spent. everyone I have ever seen has broken.
I use a 12v revvy now, but ordered a HALO, which will ship in a month. a ricochet will be good.
the 12v revvy can feed about 11bps, and the ricochet about 12 (and it is only 9v)
the Halo can feed 16... hell yeah.
with $50, your best bet will be the revoloution.

You can get a remanufacured 12v Rev. I have a reman 9v and it's a survivor.

Where can you get a HALO? I didn't think they were on the market yet.

Nope. I just created my mod. It shouldn't even be called a mod, more like an upgrade :)
I just took a motor out of a handheld fan, stuck it in my revvy. then I took a piece of plastic block and carved it with a dremel to make a 6 paddle rotator. Quite easy and cheap.
It reduces battery life over the 9v very little, maybe like 5-10minutes from what I've played.

Know any good online help for modding a 9v? I'm in a mood........

OOhhlala, Halliday. Since when did you become a Moderator.
I want an Evolution very badly. They are nice and shiny, they feedfast, it's perfect, except the fact that it's made cheaply. I know this loader is extremely flimsy and breaks after months of purchase. Are there any other subsitutes...I don't like the matte look of the revvy. Looks are extremely important for me. I'm not in a hurry, I'll try anything, even use glossy spraypaint.

If you want looks get a Warp Feed

Heh, yeah right. Thats like holding another gun in your hand. BTW, Ethon, did you get you decide what gun you want. Still intrested in a Shocker Turbo in green for 500?

Actually, I became a Moderator 8/22/01. Just a few days ago.
DON'T get an Eggolution! Wait for the new Rev's to come out with the X-boards and tougher shells!

Yes...and I also hear they are...clearer? Heh =). I need shiny-ness, I have the need for bling bling on my loader. I guess I shouldn't get too picky...but I want my gun to be perfect. :|

what about that vibrating hopper by ZAP? the mach 404 or something like that...anyone heard about it? and why the hell is the ricochet so $^@#^ expensive??

Never heard of it, I'll check it out. The ricochet is so expensive because 1) It's unique design that allows balls to feed at 12bps on a 9V battery, and 2) It's electronic timer with a display. It would be great if they made one without the display to make it cheaper. I can't see myself fooling around with buttons during a game. Then again, who knows. Halliday, what do you think about the display on your R2k. And overall, a good loader?

Hmm, forgot about that reply you posted that answered that question. But, if you're 9V was modded to feed as fast as your R2k, which one would you use.

If I had a Modded 9v with my R2K..............I'd use the R2K. Because of the timer and the bounces. I've actually had bounces off the R2K. I've also had bounces off my HEAD, so maybe it's just me.
The display is fine. You can have it set for any time. At tourneys I usually set it at 4:05, and hit the run button at the 5-second countdown to game on. The Head Ref gives us the 5, I hit the button and we're cool.
Also the display blinks when the batt needs replacing. Pretty hard to miss that warning.
The only bad thing about my R2K is the fact that if I'm ending the day and using the agitation to put balls back in the bag, I still need to shake the loader a bit. What I'm trying to say is if you hold the R2K PERFECTLY still, it will not empty itself like a Rev. Not enough curves inside it I guess. During a game with movement and shooting, no loading probs.
Oh, another thing about my R2K. It has slim "grasscutter wire" arms. On the arms are about 1/4" blue rubber sleeves. The rubber sleeves slide off. In a tourney, one came off and jammed with a ball in the feed tube. Another one had slide off before that, went down the feed tube and got shot out the marker and I never noticed. After that wonderful game I slid ALL the rubber sleeves off. No big deal, it works the same. The sleves might have just been on for shipping.

Why spend money on a hopper thats overpriced when you can:
A) Make your own timer from radioshack for about $3-$4
B) Mod your 9volt revvy like I did and have it feed at the same rate as the Richochet

because some of us arent as technically adept, and dont have access to solder and stuff like that.

I stuck an Impellor from a eggoLution into my Revy and it definetely feeds faster.
Before you stick it into your Revy you have to heat up the "arms" a little and bend them up so that they don't touch the sides. I used a lighter and some pliers.
This isn't a picture of mine, but it looks the same as mine:

You can order an impellor from Drop Zone Paintball here:

I see the Evolution impeller works better. I'm thinking what would work even better is the R2K impeller. Anyone have a pic of that? I can imagine how well it works. Maybe it also feeds fast because of the design of the hopper's actual casing.

It works fine for me. I have seen some of the top players in IA selling theirs for a song. One guy had a Warp Feed and R2K. Didn't like either and put his 12v Rev back on top of his Dark Angel.

Selling for a song? I don't understand that expression. But what about a R2K impeller in a 12v Revvy? Halliday, is your impeller in your R2k a lot different from others.

Selling for a song: Letting it go for a cheap price. He wanted $50 for he R2K and it looked brand new.
R2K Impeller arms. They are stiff plastic covered wire. Like the wire used in weed eaters. They flex but not much, they go right back in shape.

I wonder how well that would work in a Revvy.

I don't understand what you guys are saying. It has been tested and proven that the R2K is still a little slower the a 12v rev.
Not really a big deal but still. Anyways goto www.wickedairsportz.com and get the turbo rev upgrade. It will be better then the new x-chip or whatever. Mine is going to be on order anyday now...check them out. It seems to be a defifnet improvement in the testing videos they show. Also Andrew that was a sweet mod on that hooper with the evolution impeller on the 12v.
