Dont you just hate it when people trash the Nova

Halliday

I'd only trash a gun that I knew WAS trash. I was just worried about spare parts for you. Like Tribals, didn't that company go out of business? Yikes!

Airstar has stopped producing the Nova line of markers.

I've never shot a Nova, but the way they were designed definantly seemed like a very logical and good way to make a pb gun. So I always considered them pretty good.

How can you trash a gun like that. I found the baby for 130 thats cheaper than the spider tl plus. I also tested the gun its great i think so any how i owuld just have to say its all personal prefrence. For example my friend has a mini mag (discontinued) he likes it but me and my friends cant shoot it because we arnt used to the trigger. So i hate to say it but its all personall prefrence. I talked to robbo and he says the same thing he also said that if you say a gun sucks then ur just a winer.

a Nova 700 :eyes:

First of all, Jester was making his own comment. Nobody slammed you for saying Novas suck, SO DON'T CALL HIM A DUMBARSE. He never attacked you.
Why should he leave it at that? He's allowed to post what he thinks. Why did you post in the first place? Why didn't you just leave it at that? I'm getting quite sick with you attacking everybody and spamming...

umm... yea there is. b.o.a. makes them, and so does palmers. if you ask companys they will custom make one too (but their stock barrels are awesome). and plus a company named pgi (i think its them) makes a bunch of aftermarket upgrades for it.

I'll have to shoot seifer's nova and see how I like it... I was looking at a nova...but I don't feel like dropping that much money on something that has no company backing. Although I think PGI sells parts. APG also did a review of one awhile back and thought highly of it, so it must be a pretty decent gun. The only thing I honestly don't like about them are the grips and grip/trigger gaurds. I'll have to see how comfy the grip and frame is though.

As for mags, you can shoot one if you don't know the trigger well...just not as fast as someone who does.

Or.... maybe.... they have newbie sensors, hehe :)

I have yet to see what accuracy is like with the nova, but it does have a hell of a nice trigger. And the quietness and weight are comparable to my minimag, as is the ROF. The only probs I have with it: kind of bulky, hard to find upgrades, barrel is not removable when gassed up, and that the gun seems extremely hard to field strip. Although I doubt you would need to field strip it. For $130, this thing is a steal, the trigger is really nice...as good as any high end semi.

If you happen to read alot of APG tech reviews, you'll see a trend. They never seem to have a negative review of anything. They glossed over Tribals, Eggolution, Rainmaker, and E-Mag.

They never say much of anything bad about products (advertisers)

You do have a great point. Now that I think of it, I have never seen an APG review dissing a product.

I do like the reviews done by Mr. 44. They are pretty in-depth and factual.

ok about aftermarket parts for the nova, they have them. PGI make aftermarket parts and a company bought the design. i forgot the site for the Darkstar, the new electro nova.

Well, Seifer-X was all ready to show off his Nova in action. I pull up to the field, hop out to see him out in a speedball game. The action I saw: 4 very quick, quiet shots then Seifer-X shaking his marker trying to get it to feed.

He jammed a ball in the breech and it took some screwdriver work to get it out.

Other than that, it seemed to work well all night.

bbqchicken8
08-25-2001, 05:58 PM
my brother bought a nova the other day, it was the biggest mistake, the guns little blowback into the hopper is a lie, if a ball jams in the barrel the next one explodes and ruins the hopper full of balls. i see why the company went out of business. and it does this every couple of shots.

They have a very decent pull, great accuracy rarely chops. But I stay away from them do to diffuculty of getting new parts.

yea it they barke balls when they arent oiled properly they bust in the hopper, this is bad but

now for part you can buy a nova and send it to pgi with 25 extra bucks and they will upgrade it to the mayhem a 500 doller gun basically they sup up your nova

pb56 is just funking *** so it doesnt matter

First off, shot one and fell in love. If it weren't for that tacky coloring I would gt when. But then again, nothing a little anadozing wouldn't fix. As for the company going out of business, Sector 8 has picked up the product and are inventing new parts as we bicker. The PSI though, *drool*

Mayhem paintball gun.
Which I'm sure you have by now.

The nova is a nice gun, ugly, I wouldnt buy it, but way better than a spyder especially at that price. Nova owners love their guns soo much they seem like they are in a cult. In any case, you guys didnt seem to remember

http://www.splatmaxx.com/S8_Darkstar.htm :D

they make the darkstar, I think they upgrade old novas to darkstars too. I heard they would put cocker barrel adapters on those and such, so upgrading the articulating barrel shouldnt be such a biggie.

I quote:
"We are also accepting Nova 700's, Super Novas and Super Nova ET's to convert to a Darkstar for $200.00 plus shipping. We only need the body with everything inside you can keep your grip frames, barrels and the feed tube."

You can order parts there I think.

On the APG thing. The BE Blade was considered good for its price, and it said that they WILL NOT review a gun that is bad. That's probably why you don't see any bad reviews huh ;-)

Hey people...I was shopping for a Nova but it's really hard to find 'em. The reason I'm looking for one is because I'm not interested in upgrading, breaking paint, wasting paint due to inaccuracy, and the Nova is a good gun for that. If you have any idea where I can get one somewhat cheap please let me know! Thanks!

- StudDawg380

PS - Which is better: Nova 700 or Super Nova?

And hey if you say I'm a nerd for hacking then I'm a nerd for hacking LOL hey who on this site thinks Tippmann 98 customs suck? I just wan to hear everybodys opinion personally I think they are the best gun especially for the price and so durable.

although thats spam, thanks for bringing this thread back to life. i must admit, i find myself with exactly 130 dollars right now, and my curiosity on the nova 700 is quite piqued. 130 dollars, is there a website i could get that at? also does it run on co2 well?

wow.....130 for a nova 700?? good luck finding one for under 200 now....i own a supernova (http://www.hunting-pictures.com/members/cheetah256) which is the upgraded version of the 700....novas are pretty much cockers, you short stroke it and chop, and you're out for the game...if you can keep up the rhythmic trigger pulls, you can let loose huge streams of paint...i was actually outshooting cockers showing off before a game...check on ebay, every once in a while you'll find one there, but like i said, expect to pay for it...mines for sale, if anyones interested, its a supernova, the one in the pics up there, with the 16" boomer barrel...pm me if interested...

I hate my Nova.

I bought it for $250 off EBAY (but it came with a 12v revy, two co2 tanks, mask, and other stuff...)
And I havent' had anything but problems with it. All it does is break paint, shoot innaccuratley and eat up co2 like crazy. I can't believe how much co2 this thing eats.

The ONLY thing I like about it is the moving barrel. I go to the field, and leave the shroud off (looks like a mayhem:) ) and shoot. I get lots of comments, that the only thing I like about it.
The nova is also the reason why I don't read the reviews here anymore, everyone said that you get tons of shots out of a tank, it's accurate, never breaks paint, it's fast, it never has problems, and it's quiet. BS to all of that.

I hate my nova, if anyone wants to buy it, its up for $100 or trade for a working blowback. It currently has a few probs that I can try to fix, if you're intersted.

its impossible to have low pressure and a lot of shots. as pressure goes down, volume has to go up in order to equal the same fps. anybody who know boyles law would know that. fire i would buy it, but im using the 130 to buy some computer parts :( dammit talk bout sucky timing.

ur wrong there bud.. the paintball gun shoots at 100psi. which means less volume because of the way co2 expands. ok, this of this.. its like the co2 (in gas form) has X psi. so ever square inch of co2 has X amount of pounds pressing against it. so in order for the 100 to come out, the gun ONLY uses enough co2 to get that amount of psi, becuase of its regulator. so what ur sayin is just clearly wrong (the volume of co2 would rise becuase psi is low..) because the psi would increase WITH volume. ur banned now anyways.. so its no real use to tell u this, but what else is there to do online?!?! lol :P
