In my opinion, Dye and Smart Parts make the most high quality barrels on the market. If you have the money, you should get one of those.

There is no "best barrel"
Just buy one, and shoot paint that fits it.

yeah we wouldn't want someone shooting the wrong paint through barrel "X" and saying it sukt so bad because you shot the worng paint through it. Find the right match and all will be well...but if louness is a big deal don't get a bigshot however if you go LP get a bigshot.

Very true, but if you are replying to what I had previously said, I just want to clarify that when I said that Smart Parts and Dye have high quality barrels, I simply meant that those are what I have used and they shot well through my paint. :)

I've owned these guns
Piranha STS G2
Piranha G3 VF
2 Piranha Pros
2001 Wgp cocker
On my Piranhas..
"14 Dye xcel - Range ok, broke paint and was a ***** to clean
"14 JT 2 piece- Range ok, Squeeging didnt help ball breaks, was a gas hog.
"12 Lapco Bigshot-Range ok, easy to clean, great gas efficiency.
"14 Smart parts all american-Range ok, broke paint and was a serious ***** to clean, ok on gas efficiency.
"13 Armson stealth-Range ok, gas hog, never broke a ball, and did i say gas hog?
"14 PMI perect ceramic-Range ok, broke alot of paint and ok gas efficiency.
*range meaning around 25-30 yards. I notice that newbies like to stay on the outside range of shooting ,30+yards so this may alter thier perception of accuracy.
All in all, these were medium bore barrels and I used PMI premium, Big ball, Zap pro series and Walmart super swirl(cheap ver. of marbelizers made for wally world). I didnt notice really any difference between these barrels and my stock 9" barrel and "11 PMI pursuit barrel that came with my sts and pro. I think the companies have duped everyone into thinking thier barrels are better than others when in reality, if you match a barrel to paint correctly, the only difference in range would be the inside fill of the ball. Heavier fill goes farther than lighter cheaper fill. Thats it folks.:D

i have a J&J ceramic 14" for my piranha g3 sts, and its absolutely amazing with the right paint. if you fire medium sized paint, this barrel will make you soooooooo deadly. forget boomies and other expensive barrels, i cannot concieve of my gun being more accurate than it was with this barrel and medium sized paint. performance degrades with smaller paint, including diablo blaze. that is the paint used by my favorite, although not only, local field. i think i am going to get an armson stealth to use with the blaze. for most paint tho, the J&J will work very well.

The Armson stealth is roughly a medium bore but on the smaller side say .687-688. I shot Zap Performance plus with it which is about .689 and it was similar to a stock barrel only more of a gas hog. It will spend about 30% more gas to use becuase the porting on this baby are huge! I just went to wally world and got a bicycle tire and stretched it over the barrel to cover most of the porting and it was much better. Accuracy was the same and gas effieciency went way up. I have heard using Marbelizers (.687) work phenomenal in this and now the new advantage style paintball by PMI allows no seam and virtually almost a perfectly round paintball to give you better shots might be very deadly with this barrel. I'll find out in about 2 weeks when I fire some marbelizers out of it. Thats my 2 cents
