I have a Spyder Compact 2000, i dont like bottom line kits, but i was looking at expansion chambers and it says stuff about bottomlines. Do i need a bottom line kit for an expansion chamber?

no, you don't need a bottomline kit. You need an adaptor, an asa, and a 6" braided hose. If you get the kit the hose will be way to long if you have an x-chamber. Instead of getting the adaptor and asa, you could get a pyscho ballistics universal drop forward w/asa, a 4" braided hose, and two 90*elbows. This would cost about the same and you would have a drop forward also. At county paintball it would cost:
psycho ballistics universal df: $25
4" steel braided hose: $5
2 90* elbows: $4
and a 32* 6 stage x-chamber is only $28
if you purchased all of this it would cost you $62 plus about $10 for shipping.

What about an inline expansion chamber? Are they any good?

at county, why don't you get the pysco ballistics 8 stage x chamber for 15? Then shorten your hose. but I think what the man is saying is that he wants his bottle vertically under the gun. I think that is a bad idea to put a x chamber then try to run the bottle under it. I think that its possible, ridiculous but possible. You will more then likely have to run some sort of bottom line kit, drop forward, regular kit etc.

dont use the braided hose buy a macro line kit its less than ten bux at 888paintball. for an x-chamber go with the aci 6th stage or a good co2 friendly reg. since you dont like the bottom line, which means you dont like the tank off the back of your gun. get a longpfoward.

Personally, forget the x-chamber and get a regulator. You will become more consitent with a regulator over a x-chamber. Just save up for a bit longer for this purchase, becuase it is going to be worth it more in the long run.
After you have got your regulater, use macroline and buy a drop forward of your choice to hook it all up.
