Well, everyone around me is leaving paintball both of my friends are that played with me on the field we made...they are still gonna keep there guns i think - but they wont play as often as we used to...they want to get into fourwheeling i have a fourwheeler so i guess thats cool if they got one...but i was planning to buy an impulse very soon but now that there not gonna be playing its like why should i even buy the gun.....and we have a commercial field that i could play on every month or so but heres my questions
should i still keep playing even though my friends arent? i still love the game its juss that i wont have any use for the field we built and i'll have to pay a fee when i play - and the commercial field is about 30 min away so that means maybe i can play once a month and i doubt that prob more like once every month and a half - atleast with out field right down the street i played every two weeks
and if i wont be playing as much should i get the impulse? im really considering just buying a blowback *all black pirahna* has come to mind instead of the impulse and save the cash for something else i could trick it out reg, barrel,i have a revvy and mask, etc... just lmk i was thinking about quitting but i dont know i have mixed emotions

well, check out your "commercial" field, i would say atleast twice, then make sure that you like it and feel that you want to keep playing, otherwise i would save your money for something else that you are more interested in.

I am in a very similar situation as you. I love paintball and could play everyday, but my friends aren't into it as much as me. I am the one who sets up the times and when we play, but usually only about 6-8 people show up to play. So, I usually only get to play about once a month, unless I drive an hr. to the closest field. I had a LP tricked spyder w/elcd and even considered buying a black magic cocker, but after considering how often I played, I decided to sell the tricked spyder (because I was offered $500) and just use a gun that worked good enough for my limited rec. play. I would definitely continue to play whenever you could, but maybe you should consider the cheaper gun and see what happens in the future. :)

Get onto a tournament team. I havent got any friends that live within an hour of me that I know play paintball, all the people I play paintball with are usually my team or just the walkons at the field. It aint the end of the world man, try and work through it

well im not really sure what to do i mean if i did buy the gun i could always sell it...but what do u mean get on a tourny team twitcho? we only have one real field anywhere around where i live and they hold like local small tournys there but i really cant be going to places that far for tourneys maybe in a few years but not now - i think the farthest i've gone was long island (aunt lives there) for a scenario game but anyway im on a team now we played at all the local tournys
Red Impulse - i decide to play again (field, outlaw blah blah)
Timmy - if i get start playing at tournys
pirahna - if im only gonna be playing every other month or so
but all my friends are not leaving it but not playing as often, so im not sure what to do or what gun to get im gonna play no matter what - i just dont think i should spend $600 on a timmy if i play every month and a half

why not a cocker?
you could just get a vert feed cocker, and upgrade as much as you need. get a hinge trigger, new pnuematics, get it milled + annoed, whatever. the possibilities are unlimited. plus watching you shoot one might get your friends back into paintball because the moving back block is awesome.

well i might think about that.... i sold the black magic cause i dont like cocker triggers...but i liked the hinge on my sto i'll think about it i wanted an electro but i'll see...i was thinking tho cocker is $324 or something vert feed is more prob around $360 maybe....impulse in black is $400 so i figured i'd go that route, lil tex juss called me and im DJing tonight and tmw for them and i usually make $550 a night so i'll have 1100.00 hopefully

Oh dude, getting on a tournament team doesnt mean you have to travel far and get into the huge tourneys, just playing maybe a few tourneys a year is enough to get alot of enjoyment out of paintball, because you also have people to practice with and improve your game, and when you want to play some rec, you have a new bunch of friends to go with you. Most local plaes have a few tournaments each year, and I'm sure you could have alot of fun just playing those. And try asking around at your local field and looking for regional message boards about getting on a team. Speaking from experience, the tournament scene is a players market. There are alot more teams looking for players at the rookie level than there are players, so you really shouldnt have much problem getting on a team so long as your bring a good attitude and commitment to your team. Good luck man. As for the intimidator, I'd say go for it if you really want one. They are great guns but be prepared to have to work with it a bit. I know of alot of people who had growing pains with their intimidators when they first got them, myself included. Every once in a while you hear of a person who got a gun that was just hell and had tons of [problems off the bat. Truth is, these problems can be worked out if you're willing to put in the effort, and Bob will always fix your stuff free of charge, and since getting my stuff sorted out I havent had so much as a low shot or a leak in the 7 months I've had my gun. Once you get em broken in, they are truly excelent guns, and most people do have no problems at all with their markers, I just want to warn you incase you are a member of the small minority. I would like to point out that theya re generally better in terms of having initial problems than some markers (the matrix comes to mind). So like I said, if you're prepared to be patient and work through a few problems (that most likely wont even arise) the timmy will be a great gun, and end up performing well beyond your expectations, but if you want something seriously simple and easy to work with, the impulse will make you happy. Again though, with any gun there is the issue of sometimes getting one that needs a bit of work. Good luck to you bro, I love my intimidator, and know of alot of other people who feel the same

Forget your friends, go to the field. If i get a chance to go to the field, i go regardless of my collegues attendance, because i get to play so little. Timmies are a little more problem prone than say a bushy, but bushies are more sensitive when moron owner mess them up. Both shoot faster than you can pull the trigger. I'm sure you could find a team that would love a play w/his own gear. Set up a deal w/your parents, do flawless in school for like 2 weeks, you get a trip tothe field. Easy as that. Don't give up.

Little stuff, like leaky reg (replace o-ring) or a bad cup seal. Definately nothing major, and as for being more problem prone. Like I said, not an o-ring has been changed and havent had a serious spike or dropped shot in 7 months, if that's problem prone then I think I can handle it
