What is the best Spyder in your opinion. (Price, stock features...)

Stock wise, it's clearly the EM-1. It's electronic, and has a nice stock barrel. :) The AMG might be good, but we have no idea, as it hasn't been released yet, or at least I don't think so... The expansion chamber on the AMG doesn't look removable, so that may be a downside to that gun... However, again, there's no way to know until it's out on shelves and people have tested with it.

Yeah, you got that one right Hsuve. The AMG looks like it would be sweet gun. Isn't it supposed to be released in September?

I cant stand EM1s. It will be a cold day in hell before you see me with one.
But yah, duh, they are the best stock spyder.

well heres why i think that.
1) it is not electro (face it they are cool but untill they allow auto or burst fire on most fields they are a waste)
2) the rear cocking is better than other spyders
3) vert feed
4)color is great for woods games
5)no reg (spyder regs are horrible so why pay for one)
6)great stock barrel (as far as stock barrels go )

1) it is not electro (face it they are cool but untill they allow auto or burst fire on most fields they are a waste)
Wrong. Electro triggers are great, I only use semi, and would only use semi even with fields allowing all sorts of crap. I already shoot too much using a Benchmark frame, an electro frame itself with semi and I would shoot way too much anyways. :) But again, no, electro frames are not wastes, semi mode is great. Also, it relieves the stiffness in the trigger. Even if a frame had a 1/8" pull (Pretty damn long for electro...), I'd still pay good money for it, as there's hardly any stiffness. No sear spring to stiffen up the trigger, just gotta push down that microswitch. :D
2) the rear cocking is better than other spyders
Not really... They're really "bendy," and if you bend them too much, it might just snap off.
3) vert feed
4)color is great for woods games
No, not really... The green anodize is actually damn bright...
5)no reg (spyder regs are horrible so why pay for one)
Crappy reg or no reg? I think I'd rather have a crappy reg... :P
6)great stock barrel (as far as stock barrels go )
As great as any other non electro Spyder stock barrels go...

Price wise, it would be the Java Compact 2000. No extra crap that you wasted your money on, and it would still shoot as well as just about any other stock Spyder...

I dont see how the EM-1 could be considered a Spyder.
Just because it is made by Kingman doesnt mean its a Spyder. It functions totally different.
Thats like calling a Bushmaster a Puma. Both made by ICD, however, function different.
There is no "best" spyder. However, the Compact is the best buy.

yeah I can't see why people call the EM1 a spyder either except for the fact that it's name is "Spyder EM1".

I'm just curious, what exactly are the differences between the spyders? I hear that a spyder shutter is just an xtra (or a tl+, I forget exactly, but I think it was the xtra based on the vert feed) with a regulator, other small extras, and maybe a different anno job. No one relates a compact 2000 to a shutter though, (i.e. it seems you can't upgrade a compact to shutter or xtra performance?) so there must be differences other than "this one has a regulator and a bottomline, this one has an expansion chamber, this one is green, this one is blue, this one is vert feed...etc etc"
On a side note, I ordered a spyder compact 2000, due to price constraints. So I'm gonna have to go with the spyder compact, based on the fact that it shoots paintballs and its a fair amount less than the other guns, which I'll no doubt use to get a new barrel and some paint. :eyes:

you can upgrade a compact to be way better than a shutter or a xtra... its smarter to get a compact then buy some good stuff instead of getting something else thats expensive with crappy stuff

I would say.... There is no BEST Spyder. A spyder is going to be what you mke it. There proably isnt a person who has woned a spyder that hasnt upgraded at least.... some.... But I think that any NON-electro is a goo choice. electro si a waste of money and you should save for upgrades. A spyder is a 100% customizable gun!

Wrong.
Cockers, mags, blazers, typhoons, etc are all GREAT guns.
The only diff is the trigger? You wanna talk about triggers? We can talk about them...
Cocker:
MANY things you can do to a cocker trigger. Any good airsmith, or mechanically minded person can get a cocker trigger down to 1mm and about a onle pound pull. Thats DAMN near electro(and even better than some, like an impulse)
Mag:
RT RT RT. RT's are plain sweet. If you can feed 26 bps, it'll shoot 26 bps with NO shootdown.
Blazer:
2 mm stock from PPS. With a protouch trigger job, its down to about 1.5mm and about 3 pounds, yet still snappy enough to maintain HIGH rof.
Typhoon:
Just like blazer, but with smoother action.
In other words, you're wrong.
