Here are some of the questions I had about Shockers before I bought mine, along with the answers I have discovered after my first weeks with this great marker.

1. Q: Are Shockers really that accurate? A: Ok this could be a long one. My old gun was a very tricked, low pressure GT2000. With the correct paint/barrel combination, I would be hard pressed to tell a huge accuracy difference between it and my shocker. Sacrilege you say! Everyone catch your breath, here is the rest... that is only true under specific circumstances, shooting a correctly zeroed sight (red dot). ONE shot with the red dot was almost as accurate with one gun as the other. Shoot more than one shot and there is no comparison. Shoot fast with the GT and the pattern opens up. This is caused by the gun moving around more, the longer trigger pull, and the slightly more inconsistent velocities. The shocker puts all the balls in the same place. It barely moves with firing, even my SF on full auto. It is also very consistent. I have a Prochrono digital and my shocker frequently shoots 2-3 shots with the exact same fps. The rest rarely vary more than 3-4 fps. Consistency=Accuracy. In stock form, the Shocker would completely dominate the aforementioned GT2000. It took lots of time, effort, and money to get the GT shooting close to the accuracy of a Shocker. In stock form, there is not another gun that I have seen that can compete with a Shocker.

2. Q: Are Shockers really that quiet? A: Yes-with a quiet barrel. The guns internals produce almost no sound at all. The limiting factor is the barrel. With the stock barrel, there will not be a quieter gun on the field without a pump handle.

3. Q: Are Shockers really that big? A: Depends.. I think most of the "Shockers are giant 10lb guns" thinking comes from the fact that Shockers are frequently the first electro most people own. If you are like me, you bought a low cost semi (spyder, m98, piranha), found out you loved paintball, and saved up to buy a high end marker. Most of the low cost semis have lighter construction (more plastics, fewer parts), and when you make a jump to a Shocker, it is going to feel heavier and bulkier. Note that we are talking ounces here. Take your gun and feel the weight. Now fill your hopper with paintballs. Chances are it is now heavier than an empty shocker. My Shocker with a 24oz tank and 12v revy, measures 26” long and 19” high. With a vertically mounted regulator, a barrel in the 12” to 14” range and a properly adjusted drop forward, you can competitively play any position on the speedball field. Put on that stock 16” AA and the woods become your domain.

4. Q: Are Shockers hard to maintain? A: No, but If you can’t take every part of your M98, Spyder, or Mag apart, put the parts in a bucket and shake them around, then reassemble your marker without the manual, you may not be Shocker material. I come from a long line of machinists and mechanics. I’m a CAD draftsman myself and very technically oriented, so I love working on my Shocker. I frequently clean and lube it not because it needs it, but just because I find it relaxing and enjoyable. If you find yourself chucking your marker behind the seat of your truck with paint all over it after a long day of play, get another marker. The recommended daily maintenance on a Shocker can be done in 1 min-Unscrew and remove the bolt. Lube it and replace. The recommended monthly maintenance on a Shocker can be done in less than 10 mins. The manuals are well written, and a Smart Parts Tech is a phone call (and maybe a couple of minutes on hold) away.

5. Q: Are Shockers really Gas Hogs? A: Yes- Compared to most markers anyway. Shockers really have to use more gas because of their pneumatic operation. There is just more for the gas to do in a Shocker. The gas has to cycle the bolt back and forth to load balls every shot. This is the same gas that is used in the air assist. The problem is that it moves the bolt and then is expelled from the gun while a different volume of gas is propelling the paintball. That’s almost twice as much gas per shot as the average blowback. The upside is that because of its low pressure operation, the Shocker works great off of CO2. Liquid CO2 cannot exist at the operating pressure of the Shocker (180-200psi). CO2 usage was the major decision on my purchase of a Shocker. Believe it or not, not everyone has access to HPA! My field does not have HPA and you are hard pressed to find another electro that functions as well on CO2 as a Shocker (Impulse and Intimidator come to mind). Another plus is the cost of the air system. My 24oz Anti-siphon CO2 tank cost me less than $30. Most other electros require a much more expensive (and bulkier) HPA system. The HPA is usually more expensive to refill especially in the 4500psi version. So yes, the Shocker is a gas hog, but the low cost of the air system and tank fills tend to balance out the gas usage.

Those are the questions I had when deciding on a Shocker, and the answers I have found after ownership. A Shocker won’t turn you into Rambo. In fact, my marks probably went down as I got used to my Shocker, but the accuracy, speed, and stealth of this marker will allow you to be competitive against any marker out there, and out-gun most of them.

Note: This info is purely my own observations and opinions. If I have any misleading information here, please bring it to my attention. This info is based on the Shocker in my sig. I have not shot any of the newer LS or Vertical models, but if you would like to donate one….

Update: Been playing with a 2001 V-Sport now for 6 Months. The new leverswitch trigger feels better to me than the domeswitch trigger did. I also have a freak barrel for this marker. The ability to match paint is a great feature. No more worries about small paint rolling out of my barrel. I am surprised by how good the Vertical feed and 68cuin tank balance. The marker seems much smaller when properly balanced.

There is a gun with the quietness of a shocker prowling about. Its called the Matrix by Diablo.

I still think that the price/performance ratio makes the Shocker a great buy.

Hey...Im thinking of getting a shocker...but...I got some questions...

1) Timing?...could someone please explain this to me...the gun ill be getting would be a '99 so itd have the old board I think...I know how to time a cocker...and I looked on the smart parts site and it says just flip switches...a little more explanation would be nice?

2) Oil?...The smart parts site says to use some squeeze bottle of pink cream as oil...do you really need to use this...or is it like using crisco to make cookies? You can really use any shortener...but they say to use crisco for advertisement...u know.

3) Battery?...Whats the deal with the battery...one shot deal...costs like 20 dollars...why?!...how?!...what?! I dont wanna risk frying my board and install a 9v...but...whats the deal with the battery...and where can I buy them cheap...and how do they last?

4) Powerfeed and air assist?...What is the benefit? What is it? How does it work? What do I need for it if its already installed in the gun to use it?

5) Upgrades?...Im looking at a shocker with new solenoids, new pistons, powerfeed air assist, werm 2 bolt, 2x trigger with uncut frame, hogue grips, gadget grip, s/f lock, and otp max-flo locking ring....Ok...question is we already covered the powerfeed and air assist...but the other stuff...is that good or bad...and for some of it what is it...aside for the obvious ones...

6) Overall?...Is the shocker a good gun...what are its pros cons...basically...I wanna know if I should buy one.

Thanks a lot whoever answers this...I hope this helps other people too.

1. Timing on the old boards is done by flipping a set of 4 dip switches. The first two control the bolt speed. The second two control the firing bolt time (how long the firing piston is open, and how much air is used.) Generally it should come timed, but if you wanna screw around with it, make sure you mark down somewhere what the original setting was so you don't screw up you timing and forget what the proper timing was.

2. No it isn't just a gimmick to sell a certain product. You have to use dow 33 grease to grease your shocker or your gonna screw it up. The oil doesn't stick to the parts, so after a lot of fast cycling of the parts and lost of air passing through these parts, the oil will blow all over the place and eventually you will have nothing protecting the innards of your marker parts. The grease stays on the parts, and that is why it must be used. Thiing is you don't even have to buy the smartparts dow 33 grease. The sell it at a lot of hardware stores as well. Just make sure its dow 33.

3. The battery is a one shot deal. It lasts for about 60,000 shots though so as long as you have an on/off switch you should be fine. The nine volt convertion isn't that major of a deal as long as you don't stick brand spacking new batteries in it. Other then that just take the batteries out of your twelve vlot rev that you have used for a while and throw them in.

4. The power feed is when the feed port crosses the opening of the breach. When you have an air assist it uses access air form the marker to push the balls faster into the breach of the marker. If its already on you gun all you have to do is attach a hopper and it will do all the work for you. If not you just have to unscrew the standard feed and then screw in the powerfeed attachment.

5. The new solinoids and new pistons are just working components of the marker. The new solinoids may just mean that the marker was freaquently used and have had them replaced. The new piston is one of tow things. Either the person put in a new one made of a stronger alloy or they old one had worn out and has been replaced. Its the part that moves back and forth to let air into certain chambers to fire the marker. Teh werm 2 bolt I have as well. It is a delrin bolt which is lighter and is self lubricating. With this your marker will be a little more efficient and the bolt will cycle faster because it is lighter then the standard bolt head. But even thoughthe bolt is self lubrication, still mack sure you grease the o-rings on the bolt head itself. The double trigger is simply that. A two fingered trigger. A gadget grip is a foregrip that is placed up at the front of the marker help stabalize the marker with your other hand that isn't on the trigger. The s/f lock, is just that your marker is apparently a select fire marker, meaning it has a switch on the fornt of the marker that when hit will either send the marker into full auto or three shot burst. The lock is a cover for this switch because full auto and burst is not allowed in tournaments. So if you don't do tournaments you don't need it, but if you do, thats what its for. The maxflo locking ring, is a ring that goes on the maxflo reg. The reg is used to control your velocity and can be done by hand without any tools. If one were so inclined in a game they could simply turn there velocity up and then after the game turn it back down to what it should be. This ring makes it so once you have set your velocity you use an allen key to tighten the ring so you can't turn up your velocity without the aid of a tool.

Thanks a lot...I think I got everything...if I need anything else...Ill post again...Um one more question though...how long does a 9v last?

DasBaldDog
02-15-2002, 08:36 AM
A 9v doesn't last as long as a standard Shocker battery (less capacity) but they are much cheaper per unit of time..

A shocker board runs at 7.2 volts, a 9 volt....well..... 9 volts.
Alot of people claim that you need some kind of device to up the ohm'age to prevent damage to the board. I personally have never had a problem with a new battery frying a board but if that concerns you, just put it in your revvy for a day or two or playing and it should be ripe for Shocker use.

I am also looking at buying a shocker and cant seem to find the diffrence beyween the turbo the s/f or the 4x4 they all seem to be the same. Does one have more burst shots than another because they all vary in price. Also can you recharge the shocker batts or do you have to buy new ones.

C4pyro
03-13-2002, 09:38 PM
Shocker batteries are one shot deals. Once they are toast, they are toast.

As for your other question, the s/f shocker has a selector switch with three round burst, full auto and semi on that switch. The turbo has a switch that selects either turbo or semi. And the 4x4 is semi only, its just a matter of how many balls per second you want.

I read somewhere that a power feed on a shocker will feed faster than a vertical feed. Is this true? I always though that the vertical feed was the fastest one because gravity will pull it straight down.

DasBaldDog
03-27-2002, 07:10 PM
With Air Assist on...... it's debateable but without, a vertical is faster but a powerfeed can have more balls in the stock than a vertical of the same height.

Thanks. Im going to buy a brand new vertical feed shocker in a few weeks here and i just wanted to make sure. Do you have a Shocker?

DasBaldDog

Dang you must have spent quite a bit on those. Im going to put a lot of money into my shocker. For my final touch im going to get an American flag annodized on the whole thing. Its going to cost a ton but it will look sweet when im done. How are your shockers working out for you?

DasBaldDog
03-27-2002, 07:33 PM
One of them I paid for, the other was given to me and he's never asked for cash for it yet so.......

They are the best guns I've ever owned.........

I wish i could get a Shocker for free. That reminds me of somethign funny. My friend traded a Spyder compact with an expansion chamber, a drop and a nitro tank for a sweet autococker with ans front pneumatics, a benchmark frame and an all americna barrel. So he basically got that for free. Im buying my shcoker for $695 How much was the one you paid for?

DasBaldDog
03-27-2002, 07:48 PM
$700 with alot on it.

You are so lucky. I wish i could find someone down here that wanted to sell a good one. But theres only one other person at the field that i go to that has a shocker since the owner sold his. And none of the stores sell them. I have to get it shipped to a store here. But hey as long as i get my Shocker i dont care.

Where did you find that deal at? I just ordered mine today and it will be here in a few days. So i cant wait for that! But still how on earth did you find a Shocker for that cheap? I looked everywhere i could and 695 is the best deal on a vertical feed. And i realize the deal you found was a power feed body.

What upgrades do you recommend?

C4pyro
04-15-2002, 05:49 PM
I personally would recommend a vert adapter for the maxflo and a delrin bolt head. The bolt head helps the marker cycle a little faster and helps on the efficiency problems that the shocker is famous for. Also I would suggest a adjustable trigger. I like werms triggers, but you can go with any other trigger that is fully adjustable. Those are the things that I personally would start with.

Cracker
04-15-2002, 06:24 PM
Why do so many people refer to have there max flow vertically adapted instead of keeping it on the bottom and getting a gadget grip? I it just because it would be lighter with it mounted vertically?

C4pyro
04-15-2002, 06:29 PM
Well then you get rid of the maxflo off of the bottom of your marker and the maxflo becomes your grip. Instead of having the gadget and the maxflo, you just have the maxflo. Less things on the marker. Like I said, those are things I would personally do, it doesn't mean that you can't have them another way. I know a few folks that like the maxflo on the bottom and prefer the gadget grip.

Cracker
04-15-2002, 06:36 PM
Yeah i prefer the feel of the gadget grip to the maxflow. How much lighter does it make it if you have the maxflow mounted vertically and theres no gadget grip?

Cracker
04-15-2002, 07:52 PM
Ok i have another question. I know you should get an on/off valve if its going directly into your maxflow. But what if i have a nitro tank that doesnt have an on/off valve but it is always going to be in the gun. If i never take it out then do i need an on/off? As long as the first time i put it on there is no air in it then will it be a problem?

MINDofSIN

Does a Shocker balance/point well? Is it maneuverable? An Impulse comparison would be good as that is mainly why people buy Impys over Shockers.

This thread is kinda wandering off topic. But the $529 shocker deal is at BCBG paintball (http://www.bcbg-paintball.com/sale.htm) . I got one from there and it was at my door in 2 days. They are pulling the air assist elbos out of the boxes and selling them on the side though. They seem to be a good enough store. Good luck

I'n sort of new to the electra marker platform, and i was wondering if there were shockers that didn't run off batteries they were just fast semis? and if so what kind and year would it be?

DasBaldDog

There are no non-electro Shockers..... They were designed by PVI in 1995 to be the first fully Electro-Pneumatic guns.

im looking to get a high and gun and i think its gonna be a shocker how good is the AA package that u can get? or can u make ur own? i saw the new shocker on the site and i wanted to get lime green steel freak wit lime front 68 ci 4500psi max flo vert feed gadget grip and the smart parts grips i figure that would be about 1100+ or- can i get that cheaper also how good are they for front im kind of concerned about the tallnes and the weight

baddy1121
06-01-2002, 08:11 AM
There kinda tall and a little heavy for a gun. once you get used to the weight not really a problem, keeps your gun from bouncin around when you are shooting.

My problem: I have a 2000 shocker which I bought used. The problem is the guy lied when he said there was nothing wrong. I cant actually even open the fill poppet. The 'noids are leaking all over the place, and when it isn't leaking no air goes through the bolt. If I were able to replace the 'noids, the fill poppet, and the piston would my gun work?

First off...... you do not use oil.... you use Dow 33 Shocker Grease and NOTHING BUT.

sorry to whoever's faq this is but, ill take over fon a second, looks like your being bombarded with too many questions.
Bob124- You should take out the internals, remove old grease, apply new DOW33 GREASE to the o-rings, and o-rings only. Smart-Parts may void your warrenty if you grease anything else for it may clog up sensitive internals.
Super3- If I were a fron to middle player I would definetly use an imp. why? It's lighter and a little smaller. If I were playing back, I would go with the shocker, for its heavy yet accurate. You can throw a crazy amount with the shocker accuratly and quietly, The impulse isn't lound either but it can't beat the shocker.
Cracker- Your talking about Co2, Yes if you use Co2 you should have a anti-siphon tanks, it just seems that many anti-siphon tanks feature the on-foo thing. If you use High powered Air, ou will have no proble, just make sure to disconnect it from your gun before tunring the marker off.

Forgot to mention, but I personally play front, middle and back with the impulse, its pretty versatile.

ya i got problem today when i was trying to gas up my shocker. i put a new o-ring on it so that isn't the problem but anyway i screw in the nitro and the gas shoots out a little hole under where i screw in my tank. i think there is suppose to b a seal that goes where the pin pushes down the pin on the nitro tank. the hole is pretty big ad on my spyder its tiny. that might just b the dif in the make of gun. i put some gold cup along the thread of the nitro tank and in the little place that u screw it into and the same thing happend. do u think it will be expensive to fix. im pretty much out of cash. an i wanted to know if i got jiped on this gun. i got the gun (99 shocker) a tank (68 cu 3k) with a cradle. did i get riped off i payed 455 for this and the only problem is this seal thing (i think)

Sunolplayerss

Here try this. In the ASA put an extra o ring to cushion the gas valve. This should stop that problem from happening. Screw the valve in all the way until the valve is firmly seated in the ASA against the o-ring.

Ok, to get this thread back on track as a FAQ thread, here's a logical question finally. Are there aftermarket solenoids that are not magnetically affected? I read that the magnetic trigger modification will have adverse effects on the solenoids of the gun.

Cracker
07-26-2002, 07:25 PM
Yeah there are. Im going to go ahead and install a magnetic trigger with out having the new solenoids though. I dont know of any web sites that sell them. But Das is keeping an eye out for me. Hes got a few connections on SP factory teams. But im definately going to upgrade to ones that arent affected by magnetic fields when i find some.

DasBaldDog
07-26-2002, 08:04 PM
Alrighty....

I did get some new information from my boys at SP....

The magnetic trigger does NOT have enough force to greatly affect Shockers as Shockers run at no more than 11.25 bps....

They will however affect Impulses that shoot faster than 16 bps....

The Mag trigger WILL eventually ruin the solenoid but they're saying that it will take about 4 years to happen (at which time your solenoid is probably dead anyways)

the only way to get a double finger trigger is to buy a double finger trigger frame.

i would either go with a werm frame or hyper sport works S frame.

does anyone know what the pressure behind the bolt tip is? im pretty sure its not 180 psi. etc that your gun is running at. I stuck a ball in the breech and held it half way in so it would chop, and the bolt just hits and stops, cool eh?

DasBaldDog
11-02-2002, 11:47 AM
On average... and I say that because the Shocker has no internal regulator so pressure is an estimate at best....

The pressure is approximately 1/3 of the operating pressure of the gun.

See, the Shocker has 2 gas chambers, a massive one and a smaller one. The massive one gets filled with 180 psi. The solenoid clicks over and lets about 1/10th of the amount of air from the massive chamber into the smaller chamber. The smaller chamber then is filled with less gas then the chamber size so the gas expands, reducing the pressure to around 1/3. I've got a notebook full of calculations on this and really, it's a educated guess at best.

Hessian_01
11-08-2002, 12:40 PM
thanks das, i've been wondering for months now.

a 9 volt conversion is VERY easy to do. Take your old battery and nip the connector of as close to the battery as possible. Go to radio shack and buy a package of 9 volt tabs (they come in packs of 5) for 1.99, you can either solder or splice(soldering is extremly recomended) the red to the red and the black to the black. Get a peice of electrical tape and wrap once around both solders, to prevent shorting, this is crucial. snap a 9 volt on there and reconnect to your gun. took me all of 5 minutes, very worth the 1.99 i spent on it.
your gun wont drain batteries if it is off and even if you leave it on it wont drain very fast.

DasBaldDog
01-18-2003, 07:42 PM
And you blame the MaxFlo... why? So far you have provided no symptoms that the Flo is the problem.

One thing to do, is take the screw cap off the maxflo, take the brass piston out, and grease the o-ring on it....

Secondly, it also may be your pressure release valve. In that case, some genius turned the pressure up. If so, thank God that the PRV is venting cause it just saved you $160.

They're the same weight, or really close.

As for too heavy... Depends on how much you weigh and how much muscle you have. Most people just need to get used to the weight.

Really though, I would not recommend a 2k2 Shocker to a front man unless you had some really good arm muscles.

I'm pretty sure (i don't own one yet, but i'm looking into one) that you turn the little knob on your max flo to regulate the input pressure, which changes velocity. Not sure which way is which though. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I was thinking about getting a shocker 4 x 4 and i was looking at the pic on actionvillage just about everyday and i realized something when i went to go look at the reviews on this site… The picture of the shocker 4 x 4 on actionviallage and the picture of it on pbreview is completely different. The one on actionviallge looks more like the 2002 shocker with out the verticle feed. So I called up actionvillage and they said that the picture is what you get and that that is what smart parts is giving them as the shocker 4 x 4. Im really confused now… I am looking for a gun in the price range of 350-400. I would like to get the so called Shocker 4 x 4 from actionvillage but everything is screwed up now. I am hopefully going to my frist speed-ball tourney this weekend and hopefully renting a 2002 impulse there with my bro and a friend who just got an Angel speed last Saturday. Might get my ***** handed to me but its worth a shot. Friend tells me a guy bought a brand new timmy and didn't know how to turn it on so he sat out for a game and read the manual in his car but it might be all a lie but its a good story so…

Can anyone figure out this picture mistery… maybe theres some verson history behind it please tell me.

I have an 03 shocker and would like to know what i mods are out for it already? what would be the most benificial mod to do first? Also I have seen some 03's with the vert. and horz. maxflows. does this really do anything more or different that one maxflow wouldnt do? once the pressure from the tank is regulated why would you need to regulate it once again before it goes into the gun?

Im not sure how to post a new thread, so this is almost as good. I am thinking of buying an 03 light blue shocker from a person I know. I do not have close contact, so I need some answers :D .

#1. How can you determine that a shocker has vision eye or not? Any specific markings/ parts visible.

#2. The shocker has a maf-flo reg. Do you have to use a max-flo tank w/ the reg., or can I just use my 68 ci. 3000 psi. pure energy tank that I use for my current gun?

the Ydna
02-29-2004, 12:01 PM
You will have to take out the eye cover and physically verify that there is the eye in there, there is no external way of determining whether or not it has Vision. The other thing you can do is turn it on, then push the button once more, and pull the trigger a few times. If it chirps and the solenoid dosen't clock then it has Vision installed.

Yes you can use your tank with the Flo.

We all suggest you clean and re-grease the firing assembly o-rings before every use (or after every use, but both is not necessary). link (http://www.angelfire.com/mech/zds/skr03/maintenance.html)

You should clean the regulator before or after each day of play, no exceptions. If you let it get dirty your game will suffer. link (http://www.angelfire.com/mech/zds/articles/tech/maxflomain/index.html)

Soleniod maintenance should be done every few months or 20,000 presurized shots. link (http://www.angelfire.com/mech/zds/skr03/solenoidmain.html)

not sure if it was asked but is the velocity on the 2003 shockers controlled by the reg? It doesn't say in the manual. Oh and what is a recommended tank size for a stock 2003 vision shocker?

P.S. Just got the shocker today, now a proud owner of a 2003 vision shocker

the Ydna
04-24-2004, 06:03 PM
Yep, velocity controlled by input pressure.

As for tank size, depends on how many shots you want. You can expect 800-1000 from a 68/4500, or upwards of 1400 if you get an aftermarket bolt kit (actual numbers vary somewhat depending on the bolt).

hey im about to pick up a new 03 shocker and i had a few questions -

i have a 45/45 tank.....how many shots can i expect from it using the stock bolt (i plan to get the evolve bolt kit though)

i currently have an egg, will that feed fast enough for a non vision shocker? (i play front)

thanks for your time
GSM

the Ydna
04-26-2004, 09:10 PM
You can expect the same as tyou'd get with a 68/3000 with the stock bolt, approximately 550 shots. With the Evolve kit you will probably see upwards of 1000 shots.

Your egg will probably suffice, but you sholt try to keep your Shocker's recharge setting down to help against chops.

timmymaster
05-02-2004, 12:14 PM
umm I'm confused as to where to use the allen wrench to change velocity, is it the big allen hole on the bottom (base) of the reg? Or the small one near the bottom? or the small one near the top? and what does the dwell do?

the Ydna
05-02-2004, 07:24 PM
To adjust the velocity, you increase or decrease the input pressure on the regulator.
To do this, first you must loosen the small set screw near the bottom, then adjust the larger screw accessable through the bottom of the reg.
The set screw toward the top is used to disassemble the regulator, which is something that you should do (so you can clean it). To learn to clean the reg, check my guide: link (http://www.angelfire.com/mech/zds/articles/tech/maxflomain/vertreg_skr03.html)

Dwell is the amount of time the soleniod remains open, which is the amount of time air pressure will be released to fire the paintball. For information on how to set the dwell on a Shocker 03, check my website: link (http://www.angelfire.com/mech/zds/skr03/dwellrof.html)

timmymaster
05-03-2004, 09:52 AM
oh now I get it. Thanks Ynda, just one question, the dwell affects the rate of fire right? what happens if I put it all the way down?

the Ydna
05-03-2004, 09:55 AM
Dwell does theoretically affect the ROF however in all practicality it mind as well not. if you want to adjust the ROF then you should set your recharge settings instead.

But yeah, lower the dwell/recharge rate, the faster the gun shoots.

The predator board doesn't have programmable burst so if you really want that just say so (and you'll get a regular morlock instead, which does have burst).

I have 1600 bucks and im goin to get either a shocker or a nerve and a whole bunch of other stuff but if i get the shocker after i get everything i need i will only have 100 left for paint and if i get the nerve and everything i need i will have 400left for paint. which should i go with? actually just tell me wuts better about a shocker than a nerve because as far as i can see they are the same and the nerve has a freak. Please keep in mind that either way i will be getting a virtue board so im not really worried about speed as much as how easy is it to pull a trigger on a nerve and how accurate are each?
Thanks
zack

Depends on the type of Shocker.

Classic, closed bolt Shockers have a Shocker specific thread. It's relatively close to an Autococker thread in length and pitch, but not the same (and hence, not interchangeable). Very different to the Impulse thread used on Impulses, Ions and Nerve's.

The stock SFT Shocker uses the same thread as the Classic Shocker.

The newer NXT Shocker, in stock form, DOES use the Impulse thread.

Some Private Label SFT and NXT Shockers have different threads to the stock models, with the Autococker thread being common to a number of the PL Shockers.
