Before all of you say something. I did use the search button but only found a thread on some guy wanting to buy a stingray :eyes:

Anyways my mag will satisfy me for this summer. But next summer i think i am going to go electro. And In a gun i look for reliablity. I am looking to buy used for around the 500-550 range. What do you think would be my best bet.

escuse me now while i take a shower to get the newbiness of me.

Impulse=unreliable

Angel LCD . There's like nothing that can go wrong, unless you screw up the electronics. Plus like everyone works on them if something major does happen.

Yo buddy... he's talking about 500-550... not $1000... i know angels are reliable but they also drain your wallet.

Even though I have never used one I hear Vikings are really reliable, and, there like 750-800 new so u could probably get a used one for like 500.

lol mags, reliable

I have an old RT mag (well it's my brotehr's) that hardly ever works.

Reason I say no impulses: Impulses aren't the best made guns (like inside the main body tube, there are burrs where tehy drilled the holes that can chop o-rings when you remove the hammer assembly, and get them stuck in the solonoid). They take quite a bit of maintainence (same reason I didn't say Timmy), and there's so much crappo you have to do to it out of the box it to make it perform right (tapewerm, for example).

No cockers: Timining is a beotch. i learned to do it through trial and error, and even now it takes me about 25 minutes to reassemble a trigger assembly (3-way, trigger frame, etc.) and the E-blade may sound like it's easier to do, but in reality it's not. To have a nice e-blade taht hums takes a LOT of work. Constant adjustaments, twaking, etc. Don't get me wrong, when they work they own, but only if you're sure about what you're doing.

Angel LCDs are hands down the most reliable high end electros.

Yea putting a few drops of oil in a mag is far to myuch work for some people:rolleyes:

Defiently get an emag, you could easily find one w/ lvl 10 for 550. You could always look for an lcd though...

Well, having it stop cycling in game because it's chopping like mad sounds pretty unreliable to me.... (yes I've had this happen when it was cleaned and lubed)

And if you look around, you can easily find used LCD's from 2k in teh $500-$600 range

By the way, used Angel LCDs start around 350, depending on how they've been modded.

Why get an LCD? They may have game timers, shot counters, etc, but most of them have firing modes, which, chances are, you will NEVER use. I say go for a used LED, because not only are they simple and cheap, but they're still sexy. :P.

something nasty
07-06-2003, 11:33 AM
Several reasons. LED parts are rare, they're capped at 14 BPS, and, well, LCDs look better. LCD features are nice though, it's nice to know what your ROF is, being able to set your ROF to your hopper, know how many shots are on your board, etc.

Narrowed it down to emag or lcd. I cant deiced. I allready know what the mantance is for an emag because i allready own one. And how to fix a problem if one occures.

But give me some reasons for the lcd if can.

Thanks Wes

Mags and LCD? LCD of course...

LCD is lighter. More people work on them. IMO, the trigger is better. Lots of cheap cosmetic upgrades.

Anyway, i would get the E-Mag.

i mean, you already know how they work (basically), and you can fix 99% of the problems your self.

If you get a LCD, unless you really know your way around an Angel, your *probably* going to have to take it in to the pro shop and have them fix it.

Plus, if your LCD battery dies in a game, your screwed. Emag has Hyrbrid mode.

E-Mag: Gun i'd get. Simple, you can swap *MOST* parts from your 68/RT to it.

LCD: Nice, but expensive.

07-06-2003, 05:54 PM
Well if the angel dosen't have problems, why would you have to take it to the shop? I had an LCD for about 5 months, only problem was the ball detent broke once or twice, and it had a defective bolt (swelled up easily). And i can't think of anything that CAN go wrong, as long as you don't mess with it. But when it comes down to it, you need to try both, and then decide which you like. We could argue all day over which is better, but I doubt we would come to a conclusion.

You got any supporting details for the timmy suggestion. Or are you just saying it because you have one.

He wants a reliable gun, so I'm assuming he meens low maintainence too. That means No Timmy for him, until he shoots one, then he'll fall in love with them like us.

are you saying timmys are high maintenence?

mine has been very low maintenence.

timmys are fast, low maintenence (at least i think they are), very reliable, they have the best eyes, low pressure...theres much much more i'm just too lazy to put them

something nasty
07-06-2003, 08:33 PM
Having to completely tear down every part of the gun every 2.5 cases isn't exactly low maintainence :eyes:

BUT, it is, IMO the best gun on the market. The eyes are awesome (I NEVER chop), the trigger is outstanding, they are very light, they are very low pressure (85 PSI), and I get 500 shots per 1000 PSI. I love mine, but hey, personal preference.
