Hey guys, how much do you think i can sell the horizontal max flo on my impulse for? Cause these guys from a pro-shop told me that i would be better off with a bob long torpedo reg and i think i would rather use that one so I want to sell my max flo... or do you guys think that i should keep the max flo and just put on the torpedo so I would double regulate...? *I'm not trying to sell it to anyone so dun BitC* at me please!* Just gimme any estimate.

Probably 50 dollars a lot of people usually sell there Horizontal maxys and buy Vert Max flow kits or a different reg.

50??? thats it???? pb gear sells it for $250!!! anyone else?
Well a max flo would be better than a Torp. I really think you should keep the max flo, though its your decision...
I think ive seen em for anywhere between 70 and 100...

I like it too but i just don't want something so.... BIG.... maybe i should double reg then?
I know nothing about 2 regs, but i would guess it wouldnt do much more than one. How much better can you get than 1 maxflo, not much so it would probably just be a waste of money. Though dont quote me on that.
Just stick with the max flo dude, you wont regret it.

The one pbgear sells is for tanks, yours is an inline. BIG difference value wise.

Double regulation in your case would be stupid. Your max flow lowers the PSI to under 200, and that wouldn't leave enough volume for the torpedo and you'd have horrid drop off.
Remember, if you replace the Max Flow, then make sure you get a lower pressure regulator.

I guess i should keep the max flo then... cause one the guys at the shop told me that one time the max flo on his impy spiked and blew his solnoid... damnit i can't spell for crap but anyways it would've cost me $100 if i converted to the torpedo reg so maybe i should use that $100 for a lpr then.
That would be a much better choice ;)

This is off topic but how good is the torpedo reg... i heard great things about it... some saying it to be even better than the max flo reg.
I think there like +-3, which isnt to bad, but not as good as a max flo...

True that actually... i was playing today... and i shot 10 shots over the chrono... the first was 267 then 268 266 267 then all the sudden 287... then went back to normal... but my dwell was on like 21... which is very high... or is it? my input pressure is 150
Dwell is quite high, and you should set input pressure to around 180, then set the dwell accordingly untill youve reached around 280 or so fps.
Though i run my rat at 140 cuz im to lazy to set the dwell...

Those are the regs for the Max Flow tank. THey are so if you alreayd have a bottle with no reg, u can buy that and hook it up.

How could i set the pressure to like say 140 and yet not to set the dwell as high?

Does anybody else see how this is possible? If he had an lpr he couldn't possibly have had the solenoid blow since generally the highest output for an lpr is around 150psi. And if the Maxflow spiked without an lpr, wouldn't the prv just blow.... odd :eyes:
Hmmmm, your right the PRV should have just blown....
Anyway, you answered you own question, just turn the dwell down while at 140 psi.....But you do know you get the best effieciency at 180.....

Normaly if you suddenly "over pressure" an Impulse the onlything that "blows" is the solenoid base gasket.
The big issue with regs is the range they are designed to work in. The Maxflo is a "pressure regulating" reg. to my knowlage, the only one in paintball. What this means is that the reg uses a little bit of the input pressure to "balance" the reg's pressure spring. End result is that a maxflo will give you the same out put pressuse over a very wide range of input pressures. THis is the resion for years that they told people that they could't use CO2 on the Bob Long/Bushmaster guns-- the reg would not handle the wide pressure changes in CO2. (and of course the resion some fokes ran CO2 by double regs their Defients)
You might be futher ahead by buying the Front reg mount (made by eclipse) and mounting your max flo verticaly

You know... I didn't think that was possible either since he had an evil lpr... maybe he was just a b/s er trying to rip my money?

i have absolutely no idea why but my gun runs on SUCH low pressure it isnt funny... i run my gun at a CONSTANT 110psi shooting 280's over the chrono... my dwell is on like 5 too... i guess im just REALLY lucky...
i found them new in smartparts.com for 150 so i think u could probably get at least 75-10 used but that counts on how good of shape it is in. hope it helps:)
