View Full Version : Playing with a broken valve o-ring?

Ok after a day of playing I took my Impulse apart to clean/lube the parts. I pushed the valve out from the front and I cleaned it/lubed it. Being the ******* that I am, I pushed the valve back in from the front, instead of the back because it seemed easier. Wrong. One of the o-rings caught on something and a piece got cut off. It's the o-ring that is closest to the hammer assembly. I placed the piece back on, but there are small gaps on the side still. What do you guys think...is it bad for me to play like that? Is it possible to get that o-ring at Home Depot or something or do I have to order it? And I think I might've scratched the valve a little because I was so frustrated with the o-ring breaking that I couldn't get the valve hole lined up with the screw and I screwed in the screw to hard without it being lined up correctly...:pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

What happened?

Where can I get the o-ring? Do I just say..."Give me a #67 o-ring"? What material is the o-ring?

Try home depot, or any hardware store, at least one of them should have it...

What kind of o-ring is it and how much will it cost?

What will happen if I play with it damaged?

kent - Do you mean the o-ring will get more damged or something else will?

sIc - Did you get valve o-rings from Home Depot? And what type of o-ring are they? Size, material, etc.

I'm pretty sure o-rings aren't marker specific right?
