I mean really, why is it so looked down on? I don't see any problem with it, as u can shoot ur gun however u want. I fan all the time, but seeing as I've got my first tourny in a week, I know I'm not gonna do it there. But I'm just wondering why its so bad in tourny play.

who told you it was:eyes:

It's not bad at all. If it helps you shoot faster, do it! Only problem is it makes you less accurate, so most people walk the trigger.

Now is fanning when you switch fingers like middle, pointer, middle, pointer? And walking the trigger is when you move your whole arm right?

Actually you got it backwards.

Fanning is looked down upon, but if it's all you got for shooting off the break, then use it.

But fanning is hard to do consistently and accurately when moving. I found I always had to be stationary and the fanning wasn't consistent in BPS.

Walking is easier to do once you learn it. You can do it while moving, and the BPS are consistent.

It's a skill that has to be learned, but just as in any skill that's worthwhile learn it and use it.

Good luck!

I personally look down upon it because (GENERALLY SPEAKING) the people I see who are fanning are newer players who lack the skill to hit people, and make up for it by sending loads of balls. I remember I was playin a woods game and a kid with a Spyder nailed me after firing about 60 shots. When I reached the outbox, his friends noticed I was covered in splatter and I said "Wow, that kid shouldn't fan that much" as he was STILL spraying randomly. "Yeah" the kids agreed, "He really sucks, he can't hit ****".

However, if you can get decent accuracy and NEED an extremely high rate of fire, go for it. Its your gun, and your paint.

ya, Im trying to learn to walk the trigger... i find im faster just usingmy middle finger. im faster just moving it as fast as possible when i need to fire fast. i dont fan though.

i have a friend who fans but its on a single trigger so its the only way he finds that he can shoot around 5-8 bps

Id say do whatever you need to do in order to get the kill

I still am not sure the difference between walking and fanning. Fanning is with flats of fingers? or is it taking one finger and going up and down the trigger?

Fanning is vibrating your fingers against the trigger, achieving a very high ROF. Generally much faster than walking (2 fingers going back and fourth on the trigger) I say if it makes you shoot faster, do it!

Fanning is moving your whole arm to shoot. Back and forth with your forearm.

Yep, Tictac nailed it. I've seen some guys pretty damn good at walking though!

ok - cause my trigger now is a little too snappy for walking, or at least for me. the only time i fan is off the break or sometimes when ive gotta lay down some cover and stuff. i usually just shoot normal at a normal speed tho.

I have you fan the trigger till I can buy an electric frame for my cocker. (If I want high speed anyway) But usually I find I dont need to.

Here is an interesting phrase just popped in my head.

Why cant I walk my cocker?

You can, but you have to have it on a leash or it's against city ordinances.

After doing some work on my friend's cocker, we got the pull light enough and short enough that you could walk it, not like an electro or anything, but you could still do it. Then cool guy got a flame trigger and now it sticks far too forward to walk...

Cool, I've got a friend who knows one of the techs for Racegun frames in the US. I think he can get me a deal for my cocker. Then we'll be talkin!:D

Anyone know where I can buy a cocker leash?:eyes:

meh i dont get how people could fan faster o well. personally shoulder it in my right arm hold and aim with the front foregrip with the left and walk the trigger with my right hand and have no problems with accuracy(very steady but it is tiring but holding both hands slows it down alot)

i find old school arcade shooting game trigger pull more accurate than fanning...i can hit the limit on my spyder doing it that way =)...although i don't think most of you guys know what i'm talking about. the only people i know that actually know about it are asian and none of them play paintball =(.

i fan the trigger on my rt, its pretty hard to walk a mag....but with the rt kicking your finger back in place it makes for a more accurate shot

I have a mag w/ a classic valve and stock frame and I can shoot faster when i shoot normal rather than fanning.
