Why should a question about barrels for a TIPPMAN go into a general Barrels forum?
-=ReD-hAzE=-
07-07-2003, 04:29 PM
because this tippmann forum is in the SPECIFIC MARKER FORUMS...
and even if tippmann manufactures the barrel... it still doesn't belong here... because this for tippmann MARKERS... not tippmann barrels... or any other barrel with tippmann threads on it...
get a brain... and then try using it...

what about the flatline?
i think it deserves to be in here, even though 99% of the posts about it should be in the "bandwidth wasting" place......
overall, this should be for markers only, as haze said....
and you spelled the thing that you had the most importance in your sentance... "Tippmann"
Is your brain on backorder?

Ok, kiddie, heres a thought. This is the SPECIFIC MARKERS FORUM. Which would mean it is about SPECIFIC MARKERS.
NOT MARKERS SPECIFICALLY.
And in case that isn't plain enough for you, I will break it down.
A SPECIFIC MARKERS FORUM would be about one single type of paintball marker. I.E. Tippmann 98 Custom. And since a question having to do with a Barrel that fits on a Tippmann 98 Custom would fall underneath the description of "a forum that is about a Tippman 98 Custom" it woudl be a valid question.
A MARKER SPECIFIC FORUM would be about just MARKERS, SPECIFICALLY. In this type of forum, it would be questions about Tippman markers, and only tippman markers. Which would be VERY boring because it would NOT include anything like barrels, upgrades, or anything of the like. It would be about JUST the basic, stock Tippman. So when this forum stops posting about Upgrades, Barrels, Games, Other guns, various other bs, and the like, I will stop complaining of little children like you posting like you own the place. Guess what, Guy, I might not have been here long, but just because I am new to these forums does not mean I am a newb.
So 1) quit treating me like one, and 2) quit acting like one.
THIS FORUM IS FOR TIPPMANNS, and everything having to do with TIPPMANN. BY DEFINITION.
How do you like that for "some brains and using them"

its kinda so so... but overall, this should be for markers only
the flatline is a BARREL, not a MARKER. get the picture?

But the flatline is for the Tippman, which (as was defined earlier) is included under the heading of a Specific Marker Forum.
This is about a specific marker (actually a brand, but lets not go there) and not about Tippmans specifically.

There is a forum for barrels. Use it.
Barrels are completely seperate from the marker. There is no compatibility issues, and no other issues about how it will work in unison with the Tippmann marker... Thats why there is a barrel forum, because it is seperate from the marker, and it doesnt matter what marker it is put on (as long as it has the right threads), it will still work correct...
If you want to talk about barrels in the tippmann forum, make your own forum :finger:

See, here is the problem. If it was just a rule (although a retarded rule because by def....blah blah blah) then all Dipdunk Newb up there had to say was "Because its the rules. read it here:" and post a link. But no..... The little child had to go and insult me. So I broke out with a definition of what exactly this was. it is a Forum that is about Tippman, and anything having to do with it. It is NOT a tippman specific forum, as he so lovingly in newb speak explained. Now I am pissed off, and you can bite me. I don't muchly care for tards telling me I am stupid when they are the tarded ones for not even having the decency to explain something to someone who is new to the forum, not the sport.
If it is the RULES of the FORUM CREATORS. I.e., the peeps who created the form, or the peeps that are in charge, then so be it. If it is because all the peeps in here are tired of answering the same questions over and over again, grow up. Just because people are new is NO reason to jump down there throats as I have seen. Now I will admit, I have jumped down a few throats, but only when neccessary (i.e. peeps being treated like they are tards.) Now IM being treated like a tard?
NO ONE has a right to insult or belittle anyone. Be them a Newb, or just someone who is curious about the sport, or someone who is new to the forums. The ONLY reason I insult or belittle is after I or someone else already has been.

This is mainly directed towards you new people to this forum.
A few simple guidelines to follow to say on our goodsides.
First and formost, if you have a question about upgrades. Look at the Official Upgrades Thread (http://www.pbreview.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=112659), if that doesn't answer your question look through the Upgrades Q&A Thread (http://www.pbreview.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=113811). Post any question you have about upgrades there.
The only exception to the above is barrel questions. This is not the place to ask. If you have questions on barrels, look in the Barrels and Paint (http://www.pbreview.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=18) forum. The flatline is the exception to this, do a search and read. There is more than enough info already in here to warrant your actually doing the search and reading the material. Don't expect us to spoon feed you info.
Don't bring up the topic of snipers. That is a highly volitial area of paintball. If you would like info on the subject, just use the search feature both here and in General Paintball Talk (http://www.pbreview.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=5). You should find more than enough reading material to satisfy yourself.
Don't be a cocky arogant immature punk. You are not better than anyone else on here. And your gun is no better than anyone else's. If you feel the need to brag to make yourself feel special, just leave.
Don't think your gun is special enough to get its own picture thread. Because it's not, we have the picture thread for a reason. For pictures of tippmanns, not for chit-chat. If you have a question about someone's setup, PM them.
Most of all, follow the rules and have fun.
Also, use the search feature Andrew was kind enough to provide for you. It will save you from us, and save us the headache.

Thank you Kampfer.
One more thing, taken directly from Kiddie boy Red haze's little rule book.
Don't be a cocky arogant immature punk. You are not better than anyone else on here.
Keep that in mind (EDIT:) RedHaze. Your not as cool or as smart as you think.

You talk about guns (markers) in here, not barrels.
Why. Dye Boomstick is available for
Autococker
Automag
Model 98
ICD Puma/Bushmaster
Prolite
Shocker
Spyder
Impulse
They are the same except the thread. So should it be talked in the
Autococker
Automag
Model 98
ICD Puma/Bushmaster
Prolite
Shocker
Spyder
Impulse Forums ????
No. That's why we have the "Barrel & paint" forum.
Tippmann Flatline barrel will ONLY fit Tippmann guns that's why it's ok the be talk in here. Why? Because no one cares except Tippmann users.

Well, Kampfir, I thought you were better then red haze, but I guess not. See, I am only cocky and arogant when people treat me that way first. Go look it up. Here's how it went.
1) I asked a question.
2) I got flamed.
3) I flamed in return.
See, the way I see it, if you don't start nothing, there won't be nothing.
To qoute a famous rapper in a particular movie.

And no we can't all get along with peeps like red haze blasting people for no good reason.

You guys all b*tch too much. Who cares? Stop whining. I know you think your cool once you tell someone 'WRONG FORUM NEWBIE!' Sometimes its necessary and sometimes its not. If he has a question about a flatline barrel, answer it if you can, if not shut up. Atleast he's trying to get it in the right forum. The flatline is not only made by Tippmann but is made specificly for Tippmann markers. Chill out.

It's okay, De...
If you have problems with red haze, then go head. No one will stop you. But careful what you get yourself into.
Red haze is very knowledgeable about Tippmann. He answered hundreds my questions. He helped god knows how many people has problems with their gun. He is a little hard on newbies sometime, but who doesn't?
I flame newbies when I am bad mood...

Just because Little Man Redhaze knows some stuff doesn't give him the right to flame people. Especially, by definition, he is just plain wrong. Its people like that that give paintball a bad name. He's the type of person who would overshoot a newbie. Or overshoot when bunkering. Just not the type of person that I would want (or would be allowed) to play with me, or at my field. They would pull him and kick him out for ever. Just because he Knows his stuff doesn't mean he can treat newbs like crap. Or anyone like crap. I had a valid question, and he flamed me and treated me like a tard. So I flamed him back, and I get stomped? Thats ridiculous. Where are the people stomping him for flaming me? Of course not. He knows his stuff and shouldnt have to put up with newbs asking questions that newbs do. None of you should, from what i am told. Now here is a thought: Maybe, just maybe, you guys where newbs once, and asked stupid questions.
Dee
P.s.: I am New to forum, not to paintball.

Dee....since you are new to the forums...ill give you a little heads up and tell you that probably 90% of the people on all the forums are anal about "posting in the wrong forums". Someone will ask a simple question about another gun or advertise their gun for sale (ie. advertising a tippmann in the tippmann forum) and someone will always be there to tell them to put it in the right forum. I'm not sure why its like this, but that's just how it goes.

It is just an unwritten rule we go by. Barrel threads go in the barrel forum. No matter where they are posted. With the exception of flatline threads. Those can stay here. Just like anything to do with co2/hpa/drops/asa's. All of that goes in the Air Systems forum. Mask stuff = mask forum. Hopper stuff = hopper forum. Other questions not pertaining to the gun itself = misc. equipment forum. Got it?
Also guys, stop the flaming.

I thought Dee had a perfectly valid question, I've sometimes wondered the same myself, especially in regards to the flatline. I don't know why everyone had to jump down his throat. Normally Red Haze seems quite knowledgable and informative, perhaps he was just in a bad mood?
