i just got my shutter and i took it apart and put it back together. i looked at the spring and it seemed that there was no striker buffer. I didnt know if i needed it so i went to a field the next day. when i shot my gun i was only shooting at 167-208 fps and i adjusted my velocity to maxium and tryed a different co2. I dont know if it could be the spring because i just got it. i ordered it from http://www.shop4paintball.com now i dont know if i put it toghether wrong or if im missing a striker buffer or if my spring is messed up. Does anyone have any advice? I want my shutter atleast to shoot 280 fps!!!! Please give me advice shutter owners

The exact same thing happened to me. When I bought my shutter, the highest velocity I could get was 240-260. Just get a Maddman spring set and it should fix the problem.

If you need more velocity try turning your regulater up.

Sorry if you misunderstood me. What I ment to say is that the new springs are a spring set with many springs in them. you change what spring you have in the gun to fine tune your velocity.

I don't know where exactly because I got them from my local store a couple weeks ago. Try these sites: http://www.888paintball.com

If you dont want to buy the set you can try stretching your spring a little.

Having owned a spyder, I too had the same problem. Over and over I'd find something and say "AHA! Now I've fixed it!!!" only to go to the chrony and get 150 fps again. What you want to check, is your valve screw. Take off the trigger assembly and tighten the little brass screw towards your vertical adapter. If it isnt tight you will get speeds at the chrony that are totally fubar because your hammer will strike the valve and actually move the valve, thus absorbing the impact and releasing less gass. Take a look at the screw before you do anything drastic like ordering new springs or a new valve

I owned a spyder as my first gun, and I remember once when I went to a field to play my gun wasn't shooting but maybe 210 fps. I took it apart and checked everything, everything except my valve port screw. It had backed its' way out of the threads. Check that, and if thats the problem, just screw it back in.
