Hey I know the basic parts of a paintball gun but does anyone want to explain to me basically how a paintball gun works? I would like to know about the expansion chamber, the regulators, and all that air stuff. Also, what excactly is the difference internally between the open bolt blow backs and the cocker-type guns. See, I'm confused about the CO2 fillings is that liquid in my tank and my stock expansion chamber changes it to gas. Please no posts about how stupid and ignorant I am, because everyone started somewhere! I'm only 12 for god's sakes!

MRKitty, the questions are all good ones, the only dunb quetion is the one you didnt ask. I had all the same questions and more. Where to start? Well I could not possibly explain all this on this forum and I doubt you will get anyone else to sit and type it all out. So do what I did. Search the web and read. Ill point in the right direction to start.
Warpig Magazine, Newbie section. Has a welth of info, browse and read it all. Then the Tech and Upgrade section. They have a lot of great articles all about low pressure, open bolt versus closed bolt designs, and more. Read it all. Then look for links to other paintball magazines. Then look for links to the manufacturer of your paintgun. I have a spyder and Kingman has an excellent site with tons of good help and info all for free.
Then look for links to owners groups for your gun. I found one for my Spyder Shutter here on this awsome site on the review page. Then go to the owner group forums and read some posts and threads. You dont realize how much you can learn by readings some of these posts.
I think what Counterfiet is trying to say, and maybe some others that sort of get tierd of newbie posts is: Do some browsing, reading and more reading first before you ask. Chances are the answer you were looking for and some you werent are already there on the web waiting for you to find them.
Then after you have done some research youll be ready to ask some questions we all might want to answer and read also.

There are allready individual threads for each one of his questions. That is what the search feature is for :)

when you gas up your gun and cock it, the sear is placed against the lip of the striker, which holds the striker and bolt back. THat in turn pushes the sear forward, and places it above the place wehre trigger/sear contact is made. when you pull the trigger, the sear is pivoted, and the striker/bolt is pushed forward by the striker spring, and the striker hits the valve pin, which releases the gas. Most of the gas is used to fire the paintball from the gun through the bolt, but some is used to push the striker/bolt assembly back to it's cocked position, which in turn catches the sear again, repeating the cycle all over again.
