View Full Version : Optimum input pressure for a Mag with a ReTro?

I'm currently using a fixed-output reg at 850 psi... I've heard that ReTro valves (or RT valves) function best at around 700 psi. Is this true?

Also, right now I don't seem to have the correct RT feel (Benchmark 45 2-finger frame). Could the sear being used have anything to do with this? Should an RT sear be used?

I hear most retro owners are having the best results between 750-800, although the higher you set it, theoretically, the fster the trigger should work. Try playing around with the trigger to find that sweet spot. It should be right around where the trigger breaks on each shot.

800 is way to high, you'll chop like mad. 700 and lower should do it.

And the reason that the trigger sux, is because benchmark frames are horrid, sell it and get an AGD frame

Are the AGD frames even available yet? I really wanted to in the first place... just didn't think they were out yet.

i like the Boo yaah quality
i think they have some good stuff

also if you are thinking about putting a boo yaah on that retro valve dont try it bc it wont work

Yeah, I know... I'd need to buy a Centerflag RT Hyperframe (and send my gun in for installation). Right now I'll just work on a trigger job for my Benchmark...

the booyaah doesn't work with the retro valve. what's the new AGD frame? i like the dye double finger ones myself

how is that? the A.I.R. regulates the pressure down to 400 psi, how would the output pressure of the tank concern chopping?
