Hi.

1. ACCURACY

@ the moment I own a Spyder Shutter, which has been cool but I feel I want 2 get a more acurate gun. I'm not 2 bothered about rof. My main concerns r with accuracy. I'm fed up with watching my balls curve 2 right then left and then fire 3 shots on target.
Is this just the sad reality or is there a marker that can actually consistantly fire @ a small target with out curving??????

2. CLOSED BOLT SYSTEM

I've heard stories that when firing a cocker the ball will not leave the gun until u'v,

1. pulled the trigger back ( which wiv most gunz means it will now fire)

2. and then released it

Is this true???

Plz help guyz

Thanks

A cockers system works like this. (MASSIVELY simplified)
In the first half of the trigger pull, the gun fires. About 1/8 of the pull later, the timing rod accuates the 3-way and the ram pushes the back block backward which cocks the gun. Since the back block is back, and so is the bolt, another ball feeds. You can hold the trigger back as long as you want and the back block will remain in the cocked position. When you release the trigger, the bolt and rear block slide forward, thus chambering the next ball and preparing to start the cycle over.

The best way to understand this, is to go to a shop and watch as someone times a cocker, or to actually play around with one. Since the gun is a semi-auto, one trigger cycle (ie pulling and releasing the trigger) fires one shot and loads one shot. The design is quite interesting. Hope this helps.

Ok, If it is accuracy that you want... an autococker IS THE WAY TO GO. A cocker a the reputation, worlwide, of being the most accurate gun out there. If you put a good qualitly barrel on it, it will out preform ANY gun in terms of accuracy. My recomended barrels would be
Big-Medium bor= All American
Medium Bore=CP barrels, Dye Boomstick, or J&J two piece
Small Bore=J&J Ceramics
OR JUST GET A FREAK! :D

As for what you heard about it not fireing the ball until you pull AND release... THAT IS TOTALLY FALSE. Listen to a cocker, while you pull the trigger. It will fire when you pull, and RE-COCK  when you release.

My conclusion is get the Autococker, you wont be dissapointed. Plus, the is an infinite number of upgrades that you can get for the, so the are 100% customizable!

www.paintballravi.com learn about Cockers there.
I also recomend a Vertical Feed (If you want to upgrade yourself)
Or an STO if you want to rock out of the box.

The cocker is a better gun all around. It is a closed bolt firing gun, which means less stress on the ball in turn you get better accuracy. No gun performs well with bad balls though. Spend $10 more and get some decent paint! Lastly the gun fires as soon as you pull the trigger, but the gun only fully recocks after you release the trigger.

yah the autococker is really accurate but im still getting used to the WEIGHT of the gun itself along with an HPA tank... I used to run Co2 on remote on a lighter gun (spyder)... just some getting used too :P

agreed.. from a spyder to a cocker.. you've got one heavy arse gun to get used to.

this whole, fire on pull -an- release thing is created by spyder owners that think it works the same as a blowback, that is, the bolt hitting the ball and firing it. They see the bolt go back wid el back-block, they think a ball loads in THEN.. (which it does, but not to the same purpose) and the bolt comes back with the back block, hitting the ball, and firing it, upon release...

ok, really, the air goes through the little hoel in the bottom of the bolt, out through the little hole thingie in your bolt, and pushes the ball...

and thinkin about this, why the hell is the ice epic so amazing, i mean, its a air-powered gun with no bolt, but apart from that, its the same as a cocker-a-mooger.
