Few Questions on **SPYDER SHUTTER?**
What does the Shroud do?
Is it necessary?
Should I take it off?
Also my Spyder Shutter only shoots about 250 Max when the velocity is on full? What do I do?
What upgrades should I do to make my Shutter shoot farther and Straighter?
What areas of the gun should I clean and oil; How do I clean and oil those parts?

to make the velocity more getta new spring kit
it will also make your trigger lighter
there is no way to make ur gun shoot further (unless flatline or zbody) unless u just turn ur velocity up wich is cheating and not safe
for straiter getta 12 or 14" CP spyder barrel there great
or go pick up a 14" All Amercian from firstcallpaintball.com

Shoud does nothing, if you dont like it take it off.
Buy a maddmann spring kit.
A new barrel, and a good barrel to paint match will help.
Clean/oil all orings, wipe them down, rinse them off, dry. Put a few drops of oil on all orings and all moving parts.

But what is a flatline and a zbody?
How much do they cost?
What do they do?
and
Where can i get one?

flatlines are only for tippmanns, and the unfortunate case of the autococker :P
z-bodys are made for automags, i am pretty sure they are disconnected, along with all the other z-parts (z-grip, z-barrel)
for the barrel, pmi premium and my lapco bigshot work excellent, best barrel on the marker IMO (yeah i've shot boomers too)

Both my friend and I have had bouts with our Shutters for a few years. First off, if you haven't upgraded your barrel, do so, I would suggest a CP http://www.customproducts-az.com/one_piece_barrel.html one piece barrel(Just as accurate as DYE's), second what’s you reg at?, I'm in Denver and I have mine right @ 700psi, that attributes to both velocity and accuracy of your shots. I wouldn't suggest buying a new spring set, you really don't need it, but it's only $9.00, so it's up to you. I would suggest getting a new bolt, if you notice, in your stock bolt it's spiraled inside, which is supposed to cause the ball to spin, but unfortunately it causes them to drift to the right, you just have to keep tweaking it(i.e.: velocity and air pressure) to get it to shoot straight.
To turn down or up your reg you use an allen wrench on the adjustment screw on the side(in to reduce air pressure, out to increase). Adjust, dry fire about 3-5 shots and then read the reg, then it should register the correct pressure.
If you need more info than this just PM me.

Yes, The parts that you specified Earlier are for totally different guns. But if you are looking to upgrade, i Recomend a J&J Ceramics Barrel. They are afforadable, Accurate, Quiet, AND SELF CLEANING!!! They are the best barrel for the spder in my opinion... And i have many other barrel experiences... either that or the freak, but i would recomend the J&J!

um j&j and cp are both very good. if ur not comfortable with takin ur gun apart u could put like 5 drops of oil were u hook up the co2 put the co2 on and fire like 3 to 5 shots this will clean ur hole gun and when u do this take ur barrel off

CP's are good for the money, e-paintballoutlet.com has them for 35 bucks
Spring sets DO help. If you run a LP setup, you NEED one. They also come with trigger and sear springs, those can make your trigger pull a bit smoother. Its worth the 10 bucks.
The venturi on the bolt only restrics air flow. It will not cause your balls to curve in any direction. You can remove the venturi insert with a pair of pliers. This will help going into a LP setup.

LISTEN TO HIM!!! HE SPEAKS THE TRUTH!! i had a big shot on my shutter (i used premiums too) and it shot perfect. i have a big shot on my new bushy too.
and as far as cleaning take out the hammer/bolt assmebly iol the bolt and hammer, put it back in and dry fire it like 7-8 times.
i agree that lapcos are the best barrel on the market for any price range IMHO, and i have shot many barrels.

I dont think a spyder shutter comes with a shroud. but, you need a new spring for your gun. Get the chameleon spring set. And you should oil all parts around the o-rings. and for the bolt, you will want to oil all of it, but not the inside.

How do I Adjust the Reg. And How can i tell at what presure the reg is shooting at?
VeNoM

the reg is that little gauge where u screw in your tank, to adjust you use the allen keys in your parts kit that came with the gun. loosen it to higher the pressure and tighten it to lower the pressure, if you loosen it a little bit it will probably shoot faster. and also screw in the back velocity adjuster and see if that makes it faster, u may not need a spring kit at all.

when i say loosen and tighten "it" - "it" is that little screw there right next to the gauge.

The regulator is that little gauge that is on the place where you screw in the CO2 or air (the ASA adapter) There should be a place to put an alan wrench. you turn it counter clochwise to turn the pressure up, and increase the velocity, and you turn it clockwise to turn it down. simple as that, oh, and as for seeing how much pressure is in the reg, lool at the gauge;)

I put my co2 tank in and it said i have about 600 psi i turned it to the left a little and now it says i have about 700 to 750 since 700 is the max i cant really tell.
I shoot Co2 and since i dont have a chrono at home im gonna have to wait to go to the feild and try that out there and see how I am shooting.
Also what paint should I buy and what Barrel should I Buy and does anyone know of any good paintball fields and stores in La Crescenta? or Burbank or Glendale or Pasadena (All of this is LA Vicinity)
Thank You :)

Yep, glad i could help. As for a barrel, i really like the J&J ceramic over anything else. It is the most accurate barrel it think, and it is not a gass hog. There isnt much porting, so it isnt hard to get really clean, plus the fact that it is a self cleaning barrel is great. It is also the quietest barrel you can get. Though it might no mach your "flashy" shutter type gun:) It is a great barrel, and will still go with any gun.

I think im gonna go with the CP barrel becase *Sadly* it matches my gun collor and becase its long enough to be able to acuratly shoot the distance i need it to go.
Does anyone know what else i should do to my gun? Im planning to polish the internals because it should improve something.
What kind of paint does the CP barrel like?
Where can i get good paint in Socal?

Well, that is all well and good. And if he likes the Big Shot, then by all means get one. I was just trying to help him out, and i loved my J&J, and my CP. I have shot a Big Shot, and i dont think that i ever had any problems either. I just think that there are alot of good barrels. And Since he chose a CP, i am sure he will be very happy with his decision. Again, i have nothing aginst the Big Shot.

OH, And i would love to see the article. Thanks. Again, i would just choose J&J because there are alot of thing that make a barrel the best, and i think that J&J has ALL the qualities that make it one of the, if not the, best barrels on the market, including accuracy.;)
