I have

-jacked up reg pressure
-put in new springs
-gotten air
-checked for leaks
-oiled bolt (don't really know if that matters)

...and I am still shooting around 230 at the chrono. I have no idea what it could be, and anytime I ask people they go over everything I just mentioned, then look at me like I am crazy and walk away. One guy said a new reg would make it work, but is that really nessecary? Could it be the combonation of springs I put in? Like, heavy main spring and light for the valve? I am really at a loss, any ideas? This started when my first spring went bad, it won't work with the new ones...Thanks for time and any help.

- Try removing the reg and running straight gas
- Try using a weak valve and strong main spring

Posting your setup would help, but I'm gonna go with a light valve spring.

using stock reg (how do you use it w/o it?)
using heavy main spring and light valve (changed it since I last chronoed it, I can't really tell how much it went up)
stock bolt
12v Revvy, Freak Jr. (don't know if you need those)
47/3000 Crossfire tank

K, think that's all I need to say. Oh, the green part on the reg, should the needle be in the middled, front or back? Or should I play around and see what works best? Thanks again.

I have a 2k3 compact that I run co2 on and could not get over 250 fps. Two of my friends had the same trouble with there draguns. Stock spyder springs are shorter than stock Dragun springs. With my gun still stock, I clipped the front spring until it would just push the elbow out a little if any without the screw in it. Now I can get up to 290 fps and my friends did the same.

Does the Crossfire tank have a preset, or adjustable reg built in? In either case make sure you are getting adequate pressure, changing the psi on the inline regulator ain't going to do you any good if all that is coming out of the tank is set at 400 psi. Just my thoughts, as my friend (with a Trix) has his Crossfire tank set at 400 psi, but his OP is under 200 is fine. Where as your OP to hit 290 fps is probably closer to 600 or so...
