What are the advantages of getting a STO cocker over a stock cocker? Also, what would be a good air system to put on it? Would it be better to get a STO and a Pure Energy 68ci 3k nitro tank or a stock cocker and a better air system?

STO has..
STO Pnues
Vert Feed Body
Carbon Grip Frame, i believe..
better reg
better bolt
better valve, i thinkers
includes sto d/f
includes matched-ano JJ 2-piece
and id go with the STO .. or a BM , or a custom cocker

if you're comparing the CF stock to an STO, the big differences are the ergo STO inline reg and the barrel, along w/the cosmetic goodies. Not a big fan of the STO bolt, though...
If you simply want good performance, get a stock gun and your sir system, and be happy. Nitro is nice, but your cocker (either one) will still run just fine on CO2, but try to get anti-siphon if you can.

I'd say go with the sto. When I bought my last cocker I waz like this sucker is the last non-electro i'll ever buy but nooooooo I just sold it for mah sto w/hinge. It has nice clean milling, removable (sp?) feed tube, sweet barrel for a stock 1, sweet inline reg, the 4- way's polished (better than kapp or ans in my opinion) internally, and comes with a drop forward. Just keep the air system you have and go for the sto.

1 thing, it aint really a stock barrel, whole point of an upgraded gun (/custom, but this is a wide-produced custom) is that its upgraded, you get one of the best barrels out there, u cant really call it stock.. just a jj 2 piece. paralleled only IMO by Boomstick and freak.

J&J's STO two piece is technically the 'stock' barrel, just like the all american is the stock shocker barrel, since it's the one incl. w/the gun from the factory

besides, stock doesn't necessarily equal bad ^_^
