My first gun was a piranah then i went to a spyder xtra. I almost wasted my money on fully upgrading it when it wasnt needed. Today i own a
99' cocker
ANS .45 Frame with quickfire trigger +dye blue stickies
ANS 3 Way
Palmer Rock Reg
PMI Perfect Cradle
AKALMP Lightning Bolt
12 volt revvy
Dye Ultralite 12"
Taso Pro Series 10"
Smart Freak 12" Deluxe with Red front
So the point of this is dont waste tons of money loading up ur spyder with boo yaahs and stuff. Instead get a high end marker keep it and upgrade it. I dont know any Spyders that can shoot better than even a stock autococker or mag

What I am doing, is trying to ensure that the majority of the parts put on my Spyder can be transferred over to a higher gun. I also keep all my stock parts so they can go back on once I transfer any parts.
My dropforward w on/off, silver WGP ergo reg, Gel grips, SS Hoses, anodized fittings, gauges, sight, and Revolution can all be put on another gun. ($200 total)
My DYE grip frame, Low Pressure Chamber, Turbo valve, CP barrel, and spring kit cannot be put on another gun ($150 total)
So when I buy a KAPP autococker in a few years. All I need is a barrel (the gun comes without a barrel and reg) because everything else is transferrable (including my tanks). So, hardly any money wasted for a kick *** SPYDER... (besides the $150 of non transferrable parts).
Now, if I had put a Electro grip on my gun... that may be a different story... probably would never want to upgrade to another gun... too much money would be tied up in the Spyder (and it may kick too much serious azz)..

I say spend as much that feels comfortable to you.
I bet Xen_100 can beat any stock cocker or stock mag anyday or heck maybe in hsuves ;)

Wow, you shouldn't talk about wasting money. You got three barrels, one with inserts that you can buy. Why not sell the other two? By the way, the Autococker/High end semis forum isn't in here, you, sure as hell, aren't impressing anybody with your money wasting skills. I can make a stacked tube blowback (Specifically the Spyder series :)) better than a stock 'Cocker for less. It's somewhere in the pages of the blowback forum, pretty far back... If you want, I'll go get it. My gun is easily "better" than a stock 'Cocker or 'Mag.
1. My gun runs just fine with CO2 (Eh, Gen X regs aren't great with CO2, but still good :))
2. More consistent than the 'Mags I've shot (RT included, but I'm told I chronographed them incorrectly...)
3. I can fire faster than any Autococker that I've held before
4. I can't shortstroke
5. Leaning out my dominent side (Right side...), I come out with little showing, whereas with an Autococker, the hopper would be sticking out so much...
You clearly have been comparing stock 'Cockers and 'Mags with stock Spyders, and in that case, it's kind of a "no crap" arguement. :D

i like my spyder that i've put like $300 total into better than my friends cocker that hes put more than $600 into.
of course i'm used to my spyder. spyders are fun to shoot, so are cockers, but i'm more comfortable not having to worry about shortstroking than having the fun of watching the backblock move. i have nothing against cockers, its just that i couldnt see myself owning one.

If I ever decide to get another gun, it would probably be a KAPP autococker (no upgrading necessary). Until then, it is time to use the Spyder and keep my Spydie upgrades.
The thing is, people have an affection for whatever marker they own and are comfortable with. If I owned a plastic chunk, and liked it, I would probably say it was the Shiznit. :freak:

These people are not wasting their money... Sure, The Spyder isnt a "High end" gun, but i can be made to compete with any other gun. When someone buy a relitvly cheap gun, then PIMPS it out, they dont do it because they are trying to make the best gun ever, cause they know that there are better guns than theirs, but they do it for the same reason that people take old cars, or houses or ANYTHING... it is a hobby. I know that when I pimped out my spyder, I knew that i could have gotten a Bushy for the money is spent on all my upgrades, but i think that my spyder was worth it, cause it got me interested deeper and deeper, and now i am Kingman Certified to work on spyders cause they interest me so much. I think that if you dont have alot of money to start with, DEFINATLY get a spyder, and GO NUTS! there is no boundery to what you can do.
