Hey guys! I just got my dad into the sport, and he just bought a tippmann 98 custom. Now, my older and younger sister are into the sport too. They need a gun, so I'm gonna sell em my Piranha. My dad said since I was nice enough to do that, he'd pay $400 toward a high-end electro. I'm debating between a 2000 LCD angel and a Shocker Sport. I really don't know which one!!! I heard that the shocker breaks down a LOT, and I know it's kinda ungainly. I also know that it's more accurate than the angel. I'm running nitro either way, and I can getta 12v revvy for $49. Any suggestions? Pro's/Con's of each gun please if you have em.

shockers don't break down if you take care of them as you would do with any gun, just grase the bolt, and don't take it apart unless its necessary.

im kinda in the same position as you, i can get a hi end cocker, shocker on a max flo, angel basiclly what ever gun i want. I really deciding between a a free flow on an armageddon a shocker V feed turbo with yellow brush stroke on a max. I read a lot into the shocker and with all the awesome mods you can get for it, and the great consistancy of the gun i may go with a shocker. Of course i switch my mind every time i come across a cool gun :-)

You might also want to look into intimidators, matrices, and emags. Just a thought.

well if you're upfront i have to say angel but if you are a back player and you need to "reach out and touch people" you can't really go wrong w/a shocker

Here's the scoop. I found an e-mag online for $999.95 (at paintballgear.com) that's cuz they have a deal with AGD. Now I'm debating either black teflon or polished. See, the good thing about polished is that i can get centerfeed/vertical feed. I know that balances the gun better, but it's a nasty high rise thing. I chose the e-mag because it is the same price as the Angel LCD I was looking at, but it had the reactive trigger (DAMN STRAIGHT!) plus if the batteries die, etc, I can just take em out and play with it as a regular RT. I'm still debating though, between a shocker and a E-mag. My friend is an editor for Paintball2Xtremes, and he's gonna let me test fire his Dark Angel LCD and his shocker. I fired a matrix didn't like it at all. I want a few different modes of fire, not just semi. What exactly is the turbo on a shocker?

the turbo board is a board the rembers your trigger pull, so it knows you like to shoot 7 bps so when set, every time you pull the trigger above say 3bps, it will fire 7bps, it's odd, did i explain that right?

Good pic with the emag, the highrise is a good feature that will allow you to not chop at high rates of fire

Shockers are great guns. They fire fast, they don't break unless you use the wrong lube in it and they have a nice flat trajectory.

I love my Shocker. As far the other markers at that price of marker they are all going to get the job done. It is just what you want to get done. Shocker is a little bigger/heavier than alot of the other markers. So if your a girlyman don't buy a Shocker. It comes with 16 inch barrel. A little long for front players. But if your back or just rec it will be fine. Shocker also worker very well with CO2 or N2. A nice thing if you need it. Shocker also needs special grease, but I have not had any problems with mine. All I do is grease it after a days play.

I would get an Angel. I hear that the customer service at Smart parts is awful if your Shocker breaks down and I hear that there are a lot of defects with the product

Just though I would point out, to anyone interested, that its best to use the same grease, Dow33, on a matrix.

Dow 55 is actually better, that's what's reccomended for the intimidator. The reason being, that dow 55 is specifically designed to be using in o-ring lubrication in which o-rings slide over metal, while Dow 33 was designed to be used for rolling applications, and Dow Corning actually reccomends against using it for sliding applications, Dow 55 is much better, believe you me :)

okay this thread wasnt about grease, its about electro guns. if its that thrilling for u, make a thread about the best lube. I've got my heart set on an E-mag now, I'm not very far away.

That was kind of snippy wasnt it? I hate to point it out to you, but since (most) electro guns need grease, grease is a fairly relevant topic, you'd do well to pay attention rather than sit wondering how you shredded all your o-rings in a few months
