I have a friend who says that unless u use nitro LP is worthless. I told him u could use co2 on impulses and he said it doesn't work on them. He also said the guys at PBreview don't know what there talking about. He also says thats otter doesn't know what he's talking about. I knew its not true but I wanted your imput.

Well, LP is worthless in and of itself, and with or without nitro. Nitro really doesnt make a huge difference over CO2 if you reg it and antisiphon it.
He is the one who doesn't know what he's talking about.

LP is good for co2 OR hpa. it improves the way the marker operates, regardless of it's air source.
co2 on impulses is possible with the right upgrades but hpa is recommended, only because hpa is less harsh on the internals (no liquid that could damage parts, freeze-dry o-rings, etc) and is just plain cleaner (hpa can be either compressed air or nitro, btw).
there are thousands upon thousands of people that are on pbreview. so when he says we don't know what we're talking about, he's referring to paintballers all over the world. SOME of us are bound to know what we're talking about.
the OtterSC Customs site has some very valuable information. that guy has been playing paintball and studying the game and equipment longer than i've known about paintball.
i'm not an expert on it. i've only been engulfed in paintball for the past 3-4 months. but every day i'm either on here learning new things or talking to my cousins about it. how long has your friend been playing and who cares what he thinks?

Actually a gun running CO2 will benefit more from LP than it would running nitro. CO2 can drop as low as 300 psi if the environment is cold enough. If your gun needs 800 psi to work properly, then you're screwed, but if it runs at 275 psi then no problem. Or if you are firing really fast that will also cause the tank's temperature to drop, thus dropping pressure as well. This will cause your shots to be at lower velocities, and when the tank temperature rises to the air temperature, your shots' velocities will rise too. That means inconsistency and inaccuracy.

Just make sure the CO2 tank has an antisyphon tube installed and it will work fine. Ask your friend if he's ever heard of anyone running CO2 on a Shocker before, and where he gets all his great information from. ;)

He says that he knows because he reads paintball Mags and I don't. He also told me an anti-sphen would cost $30 or more.

um, you could get a whole tank WITH anti-siphon for $30. and he must be reading nothing but porno mags cuz anything you find in a pb magazine you could find on here.

You can find a lot more technical info on pbreview than all of the pb magazines put together. The usually only have 1 or 2 tech articles.

I agree with all the above, except get a SPEED instead of the IR3... My budget pick would be a RAT JR at half the cost.
