I also don't get that last part of your post..:eyes:
yes the tippmann 98 custom is a good gun and it can beat any crappy spyder. and you should get a new barrel and a bikini girl barrel bag to go with it. you should also aybe get a drop forward so its not as long. and maybe a bigger Co2 for later when you want to play longer instead of a 9 0z.

Tippmans are the bomb. They're what the Naughty Dogs use, you know.

Have you ever even shot a Spyder? I thought so. Even if you have, you're entitled to your opinion, but you make it sound like Spyders are nothing more then a hamsters feces stuck to their little "fitness complexes" walls. For that, you deserve to die.

Tippmanns are very reliable and can take a lot of abuse
They are a very good marker for new players.
Not much to say

You are thinking of Tippmann Effect, Naughty Dogs use cockers.

I really and truly hope you are being sarcastic... What about a tippy is better than a spyder? They are both great guns to start with! I would chose the spyder of the two, it looks better, works just as well, far more upgradeable, and can usually be found cheaper than a tippy. His barrel bag doesn't matter! most people don't have a barrel bag! but yes, the first thing he should do is get a new barrel. If he's new, that's about all he should do, spend the rest on paint! of course a 20oz would be good too... nitro is a bit expensive for a base spyder or tippy. Oh and don't go out buying a 21" barrel! or even an 18" or a 16", 14" is kinda too much too! a 12" barrel is the perfect length, anything longer than that is detremental to the performance of the gun, air has already expanded to it's full capacity at about 8 inches, the next 4 inches guides and stabilizes the ball, anything longer just decellerates the ball. The common mistake is to go buy a huge barrel thinking it helps accuracy.

Tippy vs Spyder Debates are for the Tippmen and Kingman forums. NOT HERE.

I like tippmann they work all the time and are very relaible. Not a bad trigger pull for a blowback its no elctro but nice. I would get thermal goggles no matter what. The tippmann is a great newbie gun. Once you buy the RT it is very fast so good day:D

Yes a Tippmann 98 is a very good gun for a beginner. Little maintence and over at the Tippmann website, they have Techs that answer questions on their furoms. Personally i think spyders are ok, but i have not really played with one so i don't know their exact performance level.

I have played with both, and I'd have to say I like the Spyder better. I just like the feel of it.

Do Not bring this argument into the general forum. Let it live in the Tippy and Kingman forums and not in general. Continue it there. Please.
how about we just talk about it here

I've shot both tippmann and spyders. I own a spyder electra. i'm getting a higher end gun this winter, but i honestly don't think i want to get rid of my electra. its just a great gun. maybe you should try shooting both, eh? people at your field should be more than willing to help you out. just remember the 98c will be longer than most guns so get a nice drop forward to shorten it up as earlier stated. and for the wang that says tippmanns can own spyders or whatever, i've shot out guys with completely tricked out tippmanns. it's not the gun, its the player. so remember that when you get shot out by a spyder buddy!
i was joking before, i just wanted to see how pissed off you guys would get... but i would say they are pretty much equal

id chose a spyder over Tippy anyday ive shot at least 25 tippys and i never liked anyone of them.....there a realible gun buut so r spyders (xtra)............yes i would recommened them for a beginner but my opinion is with the spyder (kingman)......i have to give it to tippy for the gun making but i dont like them but 1nce again thats my opinion and I have a freedom of speech and anyone who has shot a good spyder has all the right to bash on them to if they dont like them either thats not my choice
Well C ya LaTeR,
Tj :)
