The 98 is way better. In the whole scheme of things, neither is all that great, but Tippmann's are indestructable, have any upgrade you can think of and are easy to find parts for. Only thing he may have on you is a better barrel, a shorter gun, and he probably paid less.

I'd try to find a Victor for a few reason. One, they're much cheaper, you can find them for about $50, and that's a lot of cash left over for upgrading. Two, they're much smaller and more compact. Three, More stock parts, while the Victor doesn't have much (namely a drop and a double trigger), its got more than the m98. Also, the Tippman might be more upgradable, but part of the reason is because they come with pretty much nothing stock, not even a double trigger. Spyders at least come with something. And if you think about it, Spyders are just as upgradable as Tippmans, they just have different parts to upgrade. Also, you can put an electro frame on a spyder for much less than it'd cost to get an E-bolt for a tippman.

id stick with the tippman. They are built like rocks. Sure they are a bit more expensive, but if you put a new barrel on thats all you really need for a while.
PS. check out the "best blowback" thread over in the blowbacks forum.

Some of this is true, but the tippy is way more upgradable. And who said anything about double triggers being a better upgrade?? Also, the tippy has better stock items than spyders, and the Tipp lasts much longer and the tippys parts last much longer than spyders. The tippy can also be run on Co2 AND nitro, while the spyder can only be run by Co2. And what more things does the Victor have when its stock?!?

the drop you speak of hardly counts, its tiny...
and the double trigger... i think if i had a victor, i would rather have a single... i shot my friend's and it las literally 1/2"... but, for 50$, its one of the best markers you can get...
go for the 98c

Just to point out a few things, not trying to flame here. Spyders CAN be run on nitro, all you need is an inline reg or adjustable tank, just like with any other marker on nitro. I just pointed out double triggers because that's another upgrade for the tippman that comes stock on a spyder. Stock, the tippman has nothing, just a foregrip. No drop (although that's not that big), and no double tirgger, that's it for the victor, but when you look at the price, that's not that bad.

i'm running my spyder on hpa right now, with no inline reg :eyes: tippies do not have "better stock items." spyders can last just as long as tippmanns. don't give out false information. i'm still trying to figure out where you got the idea that spyders can't run on nitro :confuse:
what it really comes down to is feel. try out a spyder, try out a tippmann, and choose the one you like better. i personally can't stand how long a tippmann is, but some people like it.
